Canceled my booking one day before i was supposed to go without giving a reason when i contacted them about this they did not reply

I wanted to love this place but a few things led us to leaving early. 1. The hostels scooter rental is your only option because there is no nearby rental places. They say that you have to leave your passport with them as a deposit. We asked if we could rather leave our ID because we weren't comfortable being without our passports (their online contract that you sign says you can use your passport or ID and when asked if we can use ID they wouldn't let us and just laughed at us for not wanting to...

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately my experience wasn’t great. There is a rat infestation in bar area, noticed by multiple people. I agree with the other reviews about climbing to the top bunk. I have stayed in so many top bunks but this one in particular is very tricky to get to. Completely empty hostel. Almost no one to socialize with. Location is awful in the middle of nowhere. Go to Lushy instead for a good time. Not sure how the rating is so high

When I came to return my bike I was treated very unfairly. Unfortunately Freddy a member of staff claimed I had damaged the bike when I had not. There was no proof it was me who damaged the bike but I wasn’t given my passport back unless I paid for the bike repair. Everyone was very friendly & the hostel organizes events. Everything at the hostel is extremely overpriced. The location is terrible and most drivers wanted to charge extra because of the location of the hostel.

i really enjoyed my stay at this hostel, they even upgraded me for free. unfortunately i rented a scooter that got slightly damaged and they made me pay them 2.000.000 IDR because of that. the damage is in no relation to the massive fee, don’t rent your scooter there!! other than that, a very social vibe without being a party hostel

The Penida Project was my least favourite hostel of my Bali Trip. The location was very far from everything. As it is on a ‘broken’ road so all the cabs would charge £10 just to get down the road. Our first breakfast had a hair and a spider in it. I honestly wish I was making this up. The only bonus was that the staff were absolutely lovely. But unless you’re comfortable on bikes I wouldn’t stay here.
