+ The location
- Don’t go there : the owner is very strange and entered my room in the middle of the night. I stayed there for 5 nights. On the second night, I had drinks with the owner and some Japanese guests at the bar, which was actually really fun. The next day, I didn’t see him. The day after, I greeted him, but to my surprise, he didn’t respond and seemed annoyed. I assumed it was because he was cleaning the hostel, which, by the way, was very dirty (lots of hair in the shower and humidity everywhere). So I thought, “Okay, maybe he just doesn’t like cleaning and is in a bad mood.” At 11 p.m., he was still cleaning and making a lot of noise next to my room. Since I hadn’t slept at all the night before due to jet lag, I politely asked him how much longer it would take. He just replied “cleaning” in an annoyed tone, so I understood he didn’t want to talk. I went back to sleep, and this is where things got really bad. I was alone in the room (actually, I was alone in the whole hostel!), and around 3 a.m., he entered the room without warning to change all the beds. This was extremely weird and made me feel very unsafe. I asked him what he was doing, and again, he just muttered something without really answering, almost aggressively. It felt very intrusive and unsettling. I’ve never experienced anything like this before in a hostel. The next morning, I immediately looked for another place and left as soon as possible. I lost money, but I just wanted to enjoy my holiday. At that point, it wasn’t even about sleep anymore, it was about feeling safe and respected as a guest. Summary: It might go well if the owner is in a good mood (and if you can tolerate the lack of cleanliness), but it can quickly turn into a very uncomfortable experience if his mood changes, like it did for me.

- The owner’s lack of care and consideration of the customers wellbeing and helpfulness in answering our queries, in my case the hostel was overbooked and i was left without a bed for the night

- セキュリティ面を見ると、利用するべきではないと思います。番号を押すタイプのカギはありますが、鍵をかけてもすぐお店の人や他のお客さんが開けて、開けっ放しになっています。深夜でも出入りする人が多くて（たぶんお店の人？）すぐに鍵を開けられてしまいます。フロントも無くて、お店の人も不在の時間がかなり長くて、その間もずっと鍵は開けっ放し。昼でも夜でも、入ろうと思えば誰でも外からベッドまで入れる状態です。屋根と壁はあるけど、安全面で言えば野宿にけっこう近いように感じました。 あと、2階が女性部屋ですが、鍵もないし、張り紙の表示も少し分かりづらいため、男性も間違えて入ってきてしまいます。 こんなにセキュリティ無しでも宿泊施設として営業できるとは、ビックリしました。 冷蔵庫や洗濯機が使えるのは便利なので、女性部屋に鍵がつけばまた利用したいです。できればオートロックの。
+ De locatie is goed, kōenji is een heel fijn deel van Tokyo. Maar ik raad aan een andere verblijfsplek te zoeken.
- Alles, er was geen staff bij ontvangst, dit was aangekondigd en ik had via booking een code gekregen waarmee ik het hostel in zou kunnen. Toen ik de deur open deed bleek dat het slot niet werkte en er tape voor het slot was gedaan waardoor de deur niet op slot kon. Vervolgens kwam ik boven in de kamer, waar het heel vies was (vlekken op de bedden, beddengoed muf, enorme geur van rook en alcohol). Hier was eveneens geen slot op de deur. De plek zelf is volgens mij vooral een bar, en dat ruik je overal. Ik ben weggegaan.

- Out of the last 50 places I've stayed, this was the worst experience. Woken up by host at 1am for no reason. He was rude and very aggressive to a female visitor.

- 冬なのに暖房設備が無いのか分からなかった
- Room was smelly, roof was leaking water at multiple locations. The place was cold and humid. All my luggage and clothes got smelly. Completely unlocked, anyone from the street could get in to the room anytime. No lockboxes either. No staff, bar looks cool in the pictures, in reality it is not even open. I don’t understand how this place can have good reviews. By far worst accommodation I have been in Japan.
+ Close to the main cool areas of Koenji
- The location is amazing, Koenji has many vintage shops and many cool bars and restaurants and this place is great for getting there! After that it was all pretty piss poor. We had asked before if we can drop bags off before check in which we were told it was okay. We received no further instruction after that so we turned up on check in day and there was no one there. We called the number and the staff pretty rudely told us to self check-in. We came back at 3pm to properly check and and there was still no staff. We waited almost an hour before someone turned up. The staff member in question turned up having already drank a fair bit of alcohol by the looks of it. We’ve been travelling all day and wanted to go to bed but there were no clean beds available. I told the staff when we checked in there were no beds and he insisted there was two, when I told him there were none left he refused to move from where he was sitting drinking alcohol and to help remedy to situation. My friend took the one bed that looked kind of clean and I left. The staff then changed all the beds and woke my friend up to tell her the bed she was in was dirty and not clean. I had explained to him earlier there were no clean beds, he refused to believe me and now my friend was in a dirty bed and this is disgusting. After cleaning beds the staff member left again and wasn’t around at all when the supposed bar downstairs was to open so I went somewhere else. The vibe of the staff overall was that he didn’t want us to be there and trust me I never will go again. The bedrooms were pretty dirty overall. Shoes are allowed all over. Where Amenities like towels are weren’t explained at all. The beds aren’t very comfortable and the room was cold. The whole place stank of cigarettes. There is no area where you can relax or chat to others so you’re awkwardly standing in the hallway. Wouldn’t recommend at all

+ Loved everything about this place. Friendly relaxed welcoming fun atmosphere and awesome staff!
+ 馴染みのある高円寺、新高円寺に近くて安心だった。布団の寝心地は悪くなかった
- 夜、下のバーが少しうるさく感じた。2段ベッドの階段の上の入口側上部が板が張ってあり、真ん中より低くなっているので、何度か頭をぶつけてしまった。 洗面所前の通路が狭いので、洗面所を使っている人がいると通りにくい。フェースタオル等が置いてある位置が高い。ゲストハウスの割に値段が高い。2段ベッド上段はとても暑かった。またエアコンで朝喉が乾燥した。

- Dirty sheets with stains and when i told them, they either just turned the sheets around or they gave another sheet with stains…
It was adequate. The beds were uncomfortable but the location made up for it.

+ 場所がとてもよかった 自由な感じ 各ベッドの使いやすいところ にティッシュとゴミ箱が置いてあり便利 チェックアウトが14:00でありがたかった お客さんのマナーが良くて静かに過ごせた
- 洗面台、トイレなど掃除がもう少し行き届いていると嬉しい 入り口の鍵がかからず‥（故障中）セキュリティが不安でした。チェックイン、アウトの仕方がわかりにくかった メッセージが素っ気なく、少し不安になってしまった
Great location and good vibe.. Found black mold under the mattress and a staff member came into the room around 10pm, turned on the lights and started vacuuming, thought I was dreaming it up.
