Ryoma Ikebukuro I

I booked a private room, didn’t say it only for woman, when I got there at very late time, receptionist simply ask me to leave. Simply leave and say its not his problem. Unacceptable! Location is not near to any subway.

One of the worst experiences in Japan, the reason why it was so cheap was the lack of quality, in terms of hostel&staff. I got late the email that was telling me that I had to do the self check-in (because there's no one at the desk), when I arrived someone else was on my bed on when I contacted the staff they said there was nothing they can do and the hostel was already full booked. Btw, I booked a single room, and this was a bed on the hallway separated with a curtain. Embarrassing.

The bed is very cute but overall facility and space of each individual is very minimal

I was able to pay with credit which was nice. There is no staff present at any time (covid protocol apparently). location is not good, did not feel very comfortable walking back and from the hostel in the dark. it’s in the middle of a questionable street.

The hostel is pretty nice, but it got no common area and the mattress is very thin. Feels like you’re sleeping on the ground, which is not that great. Other than that it’s pretty ok.

Really good property if you want some privacy but not a typical hostel. I enjoyed my stay in general and other guests tended to be respectful. Only downsides: nowhere to hang clothes/towel in tiny shower cubicle. Futon was incredibly thin and the check in time of 5pm is a bit ridiculous. Check in process is a bit convoluted. But overall I would definitely stay again.

Alles war gut außer die Matratzen, es fühlt sich an, wortwörtlich wie auf dem Boden zu liegen, nach 2 Nächte tut alles weh…. Allein wegen die Betten würde ichs nicht empfehlen, man kommt nach einen lange Tag müde und will sich einfach hinlegen, aber es war richtig schlimm

After booking this hostel, I read some bad reviews. Those are not right. This an excellent hostel. Rooms are really good with all facilities like hotel. Very close to station. Highly recommend it.

Loved this accommodation. Everyone has their own little space. Everything was clean and fresh towel every day. Ikebukuro is a nice neighborhood too. Would stay here again.

The place is super clean, safe , affordable, and the manager even tho was absent and sick but responsive, they have their line, what’s Qr code at the door. It’s close to busy area with convenient store close by. Just take some time to find because it’s in residential area and I had no data on my phone. Would definitely recommend
