YHA London Thameside

The mattress needs addressing as I was practically feeling the metal bsse digging in my back all night, was like sleeping on an ironing board. (probably not a problem for younger people) I used to get the best sleep there so I can only determin that the mattress needs renewing in that room. I suggested they provided toppers for a fee. The room was freezing cold, reception explained temperature must drop below 16° for heating to kick in and that it should do so in middle if night, it didn't. I was greatful for the thick duvet. Even more unacceptable was the stink of bad body odour in room, no amount of perfume I sprayed could clear it, it only masked it, when I woke it stunk and I felt sick! Lastly there was a bug of some sort under my sheets, something I have never experienced in a hotel/hostel before. Reception said it must have come through window. It didn't look like any bug I have seen and I was assured that it wasn't a bed bug, it didnt look like one. . Luggage storage is a room, doesn't feel secure leaving my belongings to be accessed by others as I broke lock to case, but there was a camera. I guess that's all the space they have so no probs.

Unfortunately, I came away with a number of what seem to be bed bug bites, which is a real shame as I really loved my stay here.
