Al Pergul

If you listen to any review in your life, listen to this one. Be warned as we strongly believe the previous reviews on this hostel may be fake. The hostel is located up a mountain. We got to the train station at 8pm and was made aware that no buses or taxis were running. Therefore, after calling the owner explaining or situation he simply told us to walk in the dark & if there’s no other option only then we can call him. We are two young girls, walking up a cliff in the dark alone is completel...

Hele mooie omgeving. Kreeg alleen een kamer die niet zo schoon was, toen ik dit aangaf kreeg ik een andere kamer. Hygiene zou beter kunnen, maar het is ook buitenaf.

Al Pergul has a great view and is an authentic Italian stay. It is an experience lol. Be aware it is an hour walk up the side of a mountain on a road with sharp bends. I recommend hitchhiking each night if you’re going to stay there…else the walk is long and a taxi is at least €20 to get up there. Showers have limited hot water but the kitchen in the dorm is good. Bed’s were clean and Gerry is a nice, good bloke! Thinking about buses to get up there is pointless to be honest!

Très bel emplacement dans les montagnes au milieu de nul part, c était très ressourçant. L’accueil belge était très agréable. Cependant en terme de propreté et de confort ça n’était pas tout à fait ça. Un peu trop rustique pour moi. Merci pour l’accueil !

Really enjoyed our stay here. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. The view from the place is amazing. That being said it is situated on the side of the valley but if you are on a bike or in a car its easy enough to get to. Lovely place, would recommend it to others and would definitely stay there again!

Hostel is located on top of a mountain with an incredible view of the mountains. The host is super friendly and inviting i definitely recommend! Keep in mind if you are walking there later that it is up a mountain and you will have to literally climb for an hour long in the dark to get there. I did it and it was definitely a cool experience!!

I had a great stay

prepare for a real authentic adventure. the way there is magnificent... on top of a mountain in the end of an authentic old Italian village this sweet guy is hosting in the back of his house a small apartment.. don't expect much (remember how much you're paying, yes? it's definitely not a 5 star hotel!) and in winter come with 3 sets of PJs to put on top of each other so you will not freeze (despite the fireplace)... but in return you will meet when comes morning light a view of real delight!

Al pergul was just magical and Jerry the host was one of the most interesting human beings I have ever met słabo the view form the hostel is amazing nice rest from the city you can get there everything just slows down there

So worth the trek up the mountain! Bit dubious initially but there are lots of different room options which Jerry will show you. Best moments were sitting out on the balcony looking down on the village while Jerry played music beneath us. He’s great! But be warned it is a very steep walk up and the buses don’t run on Sundays. They leave at 3 different times during the day and only take you up the mountain (the walk down isn’t too hard tho). Very unique and friendly hostel for adventurers

Staying in Al Pergul is definitely a little adventure. I think the last bus leaves at 18:25 so be prepared to hike an hour to hostel from Morbegno train station. However the view from up there and the friendly atmosphere makes it all worth it.

Only good memories from this place. Jerry is an awesome guy and the hostel is also in a beautiful place and attracts same minded travellers. Had a great time and gona go back 100% later in life.❤️

I will be coming back here once a year for the rest of my life. Gerry is an absolute sweetheart. Location 10/10. Accommodation 10/10. Everything 10/10. Mille grazie.

Al Pergul was one of my favourite places to stay during my travels around Europe! The vibe and the location made it feel like a truly authentic experience. The walk from the bus stop was tough in hot weather, but it was definitely worth it - with such a nice view over the town to the monutains I felt really good and peaceful, like staying at a summer cottage. Gerard is a funny guy and a warm host. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who values authenticity and chill vibes!

My stay was here was amazing, booked for 4 days and ended up staying 6. Jerry makes you feel right at home, sharing stories and even taking us for a walk through the villages up the mountain. Would highly recommend to anyone. I will be back!
