Glencoe Youth Hostel

Horribly rude staff. We needed to print our tickets for the ferry (1 piece of paper). She refused to do it for us claiming there was no printer, then printed out a piece of paper for us to sign to check in. It was unprofessional and there is no excuse. This hostel is unlike any YHA we have ever stayed in and is not up to YHA standards. We asked again in the morning, and even attempted to pay for the printing (again- it was 1 single page) and we were again denied. Shameful.

The hostel is in a beautiful location walking distance to a restaurant/pub. The atmosphere was a bit stuffing the hostel. It could have just been the people at the time. We stayed two nights and we're told upon our arrival that we had to be out by 10am and not return until 3 or 5pm. I can't remember. Having have stayed in other hostels we found this very odd. Meaning after a long walk or traveling you were unable to sleep in or just relax for a day. Could be better.

The hostel is clean and comfortable, in a beautiful atmosphere and surroundings. We enjoyed a lot our stay !

Great location and staff was friendly but the toilet was not functioning properly. The toilet seat wouldn’t stay up and kept slamming against you. It was also very noisy with people slamming doors throughout the evening and early morning. The atmosphere was overall a bit dull and wasn’t the cleanest hostel I’ve seen. If you are booking a private room you’re better off going with a hotel, if you are booking a bed in a dorm it’s ok value for money. Glencoe is incredible!

So far away from the town, absolutely awful hike to get there if you don't have a car - no buses go that way. Really dinged my stay. OK staff and cleanliness

Propreté satisfante, une douche reste bouchée ce qui n'est pas pratique et peu de place pour poser ses affaires. Je recommande fortement.

Luke was exceptional, all staff were helpful and friendly. Location is great in the mountains with amazing views out windows especially when snowing. However, long way from the main town of Glencoe and bus stop if you don’t have a car- it is a rough walk with backpacks. Groceries were also an hour walk away in the nearest town. Overall though the hostel was clean, spacious, and had good vibes.

El hostel està al mig de la natura, cosa que ja el fa únic. La qualitat preu és molt bona i el noi de la recepció era molt simpàtic i atent. Repetirem segur!

Hostel très tranquille à l'extérieur de Glencoe avec un personnel très agréable et à l'écoute.

Absolutely loved staying here - will recommend to anyone visiting and would book again. Really nice accommodations for a hostel; spacious and clean rooms and lots of ammenities. Generous common room with lots of supplies free to use. Very kind and helpful staff. Didn't feel unsafe or uncomfortable once. Overall a homey and well cared-for place. Perfect location for hikes and food around the area.

Great location, perfect overnight stop on our way to Skye

c'est dommage que les portes des chambres fassen autant de bruit à la fermeture ... surtout lorsque les hôtes ne font pas attention

Great hostel, nice rooms and facilities. A little bit further out from Glencoe downtown but totally fine if you have a car.

Nice little place to stay right in Glencoe!

très bonne auberge, cuisine tres bien équipée et sanitaires propres.

Les savons pour les mains n'étaient pas suffisamment chargés, il fallait parfois en faire plusieurs pour se procurer du savon. Sinon tout le reste est ok.

one of the best places to stay!! the hostel feels like a cabin in a mountain's forest (which it is actually). We stayed only for a night, but it was the cleanest and most comfy place we had ! the rooms are comfy too, and the surroundings are stunning !! I recommend 100%. Only one bad thing about it (for which the hostel is not responsible ofc) is the location: if you do not have a car, you either have to walk 30 mnt, either cross the river (what an adventure, as we took the river option)

Great hostel

I loved this hostel. Luke on reception is great. Very friendly. The other ladies in my room were really great too. It was warm and dry and surrounded by beautiful scenery. From this hostel I went to Oban and then on to Fort William. I stayed two nights. Could have happily stayed a week.

The hostel is clean and comfortable, in a beautiful atmosphere and surroundings. We enjoyed a lot our stay !
