Hadn’t like the atmosphere with a lot of noise and drunk people laying in bathroom. Also very dirty facilities. I had to cancel my stay after one night to find another place.

I was kicked out at night. The pillow and matress sheets were dirty (bogey/nasal secretion). When I asked for a new pillow sheet to one of the staff members, he did not like it. Then, I went up the stairs, and the room key locket fell down them because the ring was worn out. Planning to go out 2 minutes later, and pick it up by that time, I did not go straigtaway and instead, passed by my room. The staff member came in, accused me of throwing the locket on purpose. the positives are that it has polite and friendly staff that is in the center of the old town the negatives are that it is not so clean the toilets are one floor below the rooms without paper or the dryer for wiping hands the showers and other toilets are in the yard far from the rooms the kitchen is outside on the yard too and does not have even the basics and everything is terribly dirty there is not any a hook in the toilets showers or beds the locks are broken so the are security issues

When I arrived there was a pile of trash in the room that was not cleaned even after I left, hence the room was quite smelly. In addition the bedsheets were not very clean. The bathroom facilities are not comfortable, the showers are small and without any place to change or leave your dry clothes. The hostel is located in a central spot in the city and easy to reach by public transport.

Staff was really nice, there is a real hostel vibe so you can meet many nice people but what ruined it for me was the dirty toilets and showers which are commen and mixed, it seems like they never cleaned it and it was just uncomfortable...

The toilets are shared between way too many people. Boys and girls so it’s hard to change in the toilets. Not enough sinks only one. Toilets are also far from the rooms so if you need to go at night it is a bit of a travel. It’s good value for the price I just wouldn’t do it again.

Superbe auberge de jeunesse. Très authentique et très familiale. Très bien située dans la vieille ville, avec de nombreux commerces aux alentours. L'auberge est très propre, il y a une activité par semaine pour rassembler les voyageurs et créer un vrai moment de partage. Tristan, le manager, ainsi que les frères Nikos et Joseph sont géniaux, ils apportent une très bonne ambiance au sein de l'auberge. Je ne peux que recommander.

Parfait : le personnel a été super sympa et arrangeant avec nous. Belle ambiance conviviale avec animations pour ceux qui veulent.. Des espaces fonctionnels et propres ! Petit conseil : des patères pour mettre les vestes, sacs seraient le comble de la perfection !

This is one of the best hostels that you can stay in. If you want to stare at your phone and ignore your fellow travellers, don't stare here. If you are into meeting and hanging out with like minded interested and interesting people then this hostel is for you. Great communal vibe, helpful and friendly staff, clean and spacious bathrooms , fully functional kitchen, great location and all round top place to stay.

It's located in the old town of Rethymno, 10 minutes walk from the bus station. All around it, supermarkets, chemists and the farmer's market on Thursday. What to say about the hostel ? It is very well appointed, organised and clean. But what makes the difference is the atmosphere, I was there last year, came back this year and will come back again. People return simply because there is a warmth, a real feeling of friendship. Thank you again Joseph, Nikos, Tristan, Eloise, Maira and Estefania !

Ich habe vier wunderbare Tage im Youth Hostel Rethymno erlebt. Mit Tristan und Joseph habe ich zwei der drei mitarbeitenden kennen gelernt. Beide sind Perlen. Maira ist eine junge Frau. Sie reinigt vorübergehend. Geraucht wurde eher viel. Aber das war im Aussenbereich.Die familiäre Atmosphäre, die guten Gespräche, der herrliche Innenhof waren wunderbar.Ein herzliches Dankeschön!

Such a nice stay here! Family hostel with great location just 5 minutes from city center/beach and the staff who was always kind and helpful. Walking distance to all important facilities and bus station. Rooms are nice and clean(8bed female dorm), There is box under the bed to store your luggage. Bathroom and showers are in a common area. Big outdoor kitchen and terrace area with great wi-fi. As a solo traveler I felt safe the whole time.

Das Rethymno Youth Hostel ist das BESTE Hostel, in dem ich je war. Der Besitzer Tristan macht einen fantastischen Job und stellt jeden neuen Gast persönlich vor. Außerdem kennt er alle Namen mit Herkunftsland von den Gästen. Das Hostel ist super zentral in der Altstadt gelegen und alles ist fußläufig erreichbar. I stayed there for one night, as I was transferring to Chania. Location is ideal, but the social atmosphere is dead, compared to where I was in Plakias for example. Stuff is friendly and there is a map for key restaurants and sightseeings.

This hostel is beautifully done, I love the facilities such as the outdoor kitchen and seating areas. Staff are super friendly and they add a really nice vibe to the place. My only complaint would be that the beds don’t have curtains, but honestly that’s quite minor compared to how nice the place is :)

The best part are the three hosts though, they are walking encyclopedias for Rethymno and are really friendly. And you can say they genuinely want you to enjoy your time in Crete. It's a great place not only because of the location and facilities, the terrace, the atmosphere, but above all because of the friendliness of the wo work there. Absolutely recommend!

I really have to say to have that the Rethymno Youth Hostel gave me one of the best hostel experiences I've ever made. It's a cosy place that invites to hang out and socialize in the common areas, always kept clean and tidy with very welcoming, suportive and fun staff. When I come to Crete I really enjoy coming back here :)
