Naples Pizza Hostel

While this is a very cheap hostel for a private suite, there were some issues with basic functions of a private suite: 1) the shower did not work properly; 2) the toilet didn’t flush or only partly flushed and created a loud sound that would last for minutes and 3) my partner woke up covered in bug bites.

There were bedbugs, washroom was horrible, no fan in the room, too hot to sleep

Wir hatten Bettwanzen in den Betten, desaströser Hygenezustand. Es gibt kein Toilettenpapier auf den Bädern, und die Laken sind teils blutig und fleckig. Nach einer Nacht sind wir wieder ausgezogen. Nach Meldung des Bettwanzenvorfalls haben wir eine 50ig prozentig Erstattung erhalten, zu wenig für den Fakt dass 4 Menschen mit Bettwanzen nach Hause fahren.

Location is good, it is in the center of the old city. Close to the metro. Staff was lovely, they tried to help us in general. But for the price you pay per night, expect the exact same. The building is old, so the inside was humid. There was a strong odor in the rooms. Because of the humid the rooms were covered with black mold (also the bathroom in the room). We woke up sneezing and coughing because of the mold. If you are highly allergic, I would advise you to skip this one. We stayed two nights, and for 10 eur per night, it was okay. BUT as the comments said, in the female dorm, we found a bed bug in one of our beds after we woke up. Thankfully they didnt bite us, and when we told the staff about it, they cleaned the whole room and changed the sheets and blankets in the room. After that, we didnt see any more bed bugs. The kitchen was okay, there is a fridge, oven and cooker. It's an option if you are budgeting but I would not stay here again mostly because of the room conditions.

La habitación de 4 camas estaba separada en dos partes con una puerta de por medio. El baño estaba en la otra parte y durante la noche no pudimos pasar el baño porque había otras personas durmiendo en ese sector por lo que tuvimos que bajar un piso para ir a otro baño. La habitación olía demasiado a humedad y había chinches en la cama. El personal fue muy amable en todo momento. Te cobran un suplemento alto por llegar pasadas las 8. Más de una noche no pasaría en este hostel.

Could be worse, beds are fine but dirty blankets and possibly bed bugs?! Some rooms nicer than others but kitchen is pretty good. Staff were super helpful and kind and did the best with the place that they could. Nice location and felt very safe but bring headphones for noise. Wouldn’t be my first choice but definitely gave hostel vibes!

I stayed there with a group over half a year ago, and it seems that nothing has changed regarding the bed bug issue. Even aside from that, in my opinion this place is only decent for a one-night stay at most. The room I stayed in was very small, with no space to store your belongings and only a tiny window in the corner, giving almost prison-like feel. But the bugs, dirty sheets and unclean staircase are not acceptable for any price. Besides bed bugs, we also found a cockroach. What concerns me most is that it appears nothing substantial is being done by the hostel to resolve this problem. Reviews from as recent as one month ago continue to mention bed bugs. From what I can see, management tends to avoid the topic in the comments, claiming that rooms are regularly cleaned and disinfected – if you don't know, my dears, let me enlighten you. Unfortunately, bed bugs can appear anywhere, even in very clean places (although I must note that this hostel is far from being one…) Bed bugs can't be “controlled” on your own, and as a hostel, you have a responsibility, as long as you respect your guest, to ensure their comfort and safety. Effective pest control requires professional methods and must be carried out multiple times to prevent recurrence. In a hostel of this size, with new guests constantly arriving, bed bugs can easily be brought in or find hiding spots, which is why pest control must be repeated regularly rather than relying solely on cleaning or guest reports. From my experience, it felt like there was no structured approach at all. When we discovered the infestation around midnight, the group contacted the manager, who refused to come and sent a staff member with no authority to make decisions. This left around 20 (!) of us stranded in Naples in the middle of the night. Luckily the hostel allowed us to wait in the reception while we searched for alternative accommodation. The lack of responsibility and basic concern for guests’ safety and comfort was astonishing. I genuinely can't understand why this problem has persisted for so long. At the cost of not carrying out a few proper pest control treatments, you lost a great deal of trust. This hostel has the potential to be a really welcoming place to stay in Naples, but it needs serious improvements, like replacing the beds and mattresses, adding lockers or shelves to some rooms, repainting the walls and overall better maintenance. It’s a shame that the work is not approached with the care and attention that all guests deserve.

Bedbugs!!!

The worst hostel I have ever had to deal with! They have a BED BUG infestation that they do not warn any of their customers about and do not take any responsibility for. Terrible customer service with dealing with the sitaution and complete lack of care. Would never, ever stay here.

DO NOT STAY HERE - Bed bug infestation and terrible management! Had such an awful experience with this hostel! Before my arrival I found via multiple google reviews that the hostel had a beg bug infestation that they did not alert any of their guests of. I am extremely allergic to bed bugs so contacted them directly to try and cancel my booking and they ignored all my messages despite contacting me just moments before. They then charged me a cancellation fee because they deemed it as a "no show" despite me messaging them on multiple platforms and informing booking.com. They still have not refunded me despite their breach of health and safety protocol and the management were so rude and completely unhelpful. Such a scam and would never recommend having to deal with this situation. Reply to hostel: How was I supposed to cancel 7 days in advance when you did not alert me of the health violation you had at your hostel? Luckily I found out just before I went because I am very allergic and you have so many bad reviews warning people of the bed bugs so of course I am not going to take my chances. If you really cared about your customers you would warn them of your issues and you would not penalise them when you were the one who is negligent. I am just warning people of my terrible experience, if you want to do the right thing just refund the cancellation fee and be transparent with your issues.

Definitely not as bad a hostel as most reviews i see, but not a very good hostel. You can see that they invested in the common areas of the hostel. The hostel is located in an old building. The bathrooms and toilets are well cleaned. The kitchen, although I didn't have to use it, also looked good. Maybe the owners should invest in the common rooms. My bed was actually comfortable, but it creaked at the slightest movement, which clearly annoyed my roommates. I didn't have any problems with bedbug bites. The temperature in the room was good, it was by no means hot, as many people mention in the reviews, but probably because the summer heat has passed. Realistically, the room had a rather small window and maybe the summer is quite hot. Overall, I recommend the hostel for a night or two, in case it is more expensive elsewhere. The staff at the reception is friendly. Unfortunately, the hostel has a policy of asking for money for luggage storage. I was with a small, light backpack and didn't need to leave my luggage, but I find it too insulting towards those who have suitcases and need to leave their luggage for a few hours and to be asked for additional money. It would be nice if someone from the hostel management reads my comment and thinks about how a person who is asked for money to leave their luggage at the accommodation would ever return there. I'm not one to complain, but I find this hostel policy insulting, I'll even say it outright - it's a kind of blackmail towards travelers with luggage.

Fui mordido por chinches, mejor gasten ese dinero en un lugar mejor. Ahora continúo en tratamiento, había gente medio rara jajaja pero pues se entiende por el precio. Está muy cerca de todo, no temas por el tema de seguridad está muy bien controlado todo y nunca me sentí inseguro, el personal una maravilla fueron súper amables y recomiendan muchas cosas además hablaron muy bien el español conmigo y eso lo agradecí bastante, pero despertar con el ojo como un globo no fue lo mejor…

The girl at the reception was very nice and helpful, but forgot to mention : ❗️‼️❗️⛔️‼️⁉️ the hostel is infested with bedbugs... we got bitten all other our bodies. There were no sheets on the beds. The owners must know, they re obviously aware and are not doing anything. Do not book there unless you want to be itching for a week or so.

Do not stay here! The beds are broken and they have bed bugs. The manager was so unpleasant and rude when I asked about other options. Spend your money somewhere else.

Unfortunately, Naples Pizza Hostel is falling apart and has an infestation of bed bugs. We were a 3 person group, had a bunk bed that was unsafe, unstable, and unsecured. The hostel is simply dirty. The bed beds are in all the rooms. The owner/manager is very aware of this situation and continues to accept bookings. Hostel World should really remove this listing…

El alojamiento está bien para una o dos noches, no hay mucho ambiente de hostel. Las habitaciones son un poco extrañas, pero cumplen. No vi bed bugs. El personal súper amable y servicial

Bed bug infestation in our room. At least, when we showed photo and video proof of them in the morning, the staff refunded us the whole booking.

This was one of the WORST hostel experiences I’ve ever had. For our entire 4-night stay, there was no hot water for showers, and I was severely bitten by BED BUGS !!!! The location and price might seem attractive, but the conditions were unacceptable and I would NEVER stay here again. The only positive point was the staff, who were friendly and tried to be helpful, but unfortunately, that does not make up for such serious issues.

BED BUGS ALERT The conditions at this hostel are terrible. The hygiene in the rooms is poor, and there is a bed bug outbreak throughout the entire place! My friends and I have bites all over our bodies, and we were staying in three different rooms! On top of that, we spent four nights taking cold showers. Do NOT book this hostel!!!

The place is INFESTED with bedbugs, we woke up with so many bites and my friend even had an allergic reaction ... we had to disinfect everything we own and throw away a lot of our belongings before returning home. Mattresses are dirty and have lots of signs of bedbug activity :( yes, staff were kind at first, and even promised us a refund for the bedbug hassle, as we tried to be kind to them despite the situation, and I wasn't even going to leave a review if they refunded us!! -- but now they have ghosted us via email and won't respond or refund. DON'T STAY HERE unless you want bedbugs on everything you own, including your body

BEDBUG INFESTATION, and was promised a refund for this by the front desk, now they have IGNORED all of our emails. we woke up with so many bites (my friend even had an allergic reaction), mattresses are covered, and still tried to be nice to front desk as we understand running a hostel can be difficult. had to disinfect everything we own and trash many of our belongings before returning home.

BED BUGS - DO NOT STAY HERE! I found bed bugs in my bed at this hostel! I left due to the rash that had started forming on my body because of the bugs and was promised a refund by the receptionist. The office team have since ignored my emails and requests for a refund - it has been a couple of months and I still have not received it. Awful experience, horrific hostel. Would have given 0 stars if I could.

Lástima tener que escribir esto. Tengo que aceptar, que cuando leía este tipo de comentarios no me lo imaginaba que fueran reales, hasta que me sucedió... me quedé en este alojamiento durante 4 noches (julio 28 a agosto 01 de 2025). Pese a que la ubicación es buena, el precio aceptable y los chicos de recepción fueron amables, este lugar es un riesgo para la salud pública. Sufrí un mordaz ataque de chinches y pulgas en este lugar. El chico español que atiende fue empático conmigo ante la situación y me cambió de habitación, pero pensé (pensé mal) que cuando la dueña se enterara de esto querría saber lo que pasó y tratar de compensarlo, pero no sucedió. Una lastima las condiciones de salubridad y de ocuparse de los huéspedes en este lugar.

I loved the location and the staff was amazing, but unfortunately I did wake up with lots of bites not sure if mosquito or bed bugs, also did not know they didn’t have AC in the rooms, it might’ve been in the description and I misread it but unless you’re ready to sweat right after a cold a shower, maybe not the place for you. I loved the staff but would never stay there again.

Bed bugs crawling from bed to bed, small bunk cubicles to sleep in made the heat unbearable. If you are taller than average, DO NOT GO THERE, one thing I can at least give them is that they apologized and changed my room when I told them about the bugs.

Nada, solo decir que tengo picaduras de chinches, no tenía sábana para poder taparte, un asco de verdad no lo recomiendo para nada, muy sucio y la gente una irrespetuosa hablando hasta las tantas de la mañana.

esta normal el hostel, la persona que hace el aseo por las mañanas, es muy desagradable e irrespetuosa, el personal de recepción un 10, la cocina es buena, a veces agua caliente aveces no, lo único malo es que hay chinches en las camas, eso es horrible, amaneces con picaduras por todo el cuerpo

Checked in at 09 may 2025 in the morning, locked our backpacks with our key and left. Midnight we returned and around 1 a.m. I went to bed and my friend woke me up as him and the new-met friend spotted a few bedbugs. We looked with our phone flashlights and have photos/videos of lots of bedbugs in the room. Slept on the lobby and On the morning we talked with the receptionist and she was careless. Her and the manager constantly yelled but we got our money back. Would not recommend.

There were bedbugs, the toilet in the room was broken (like the WC was literally moving), location can be summed up by the word sketchy as it is in the center of the old town, dark and dingy. The general instructions for the place seemed hostile. But after the bedbugs, every other gotta pales in comparison.

Very good location, close to restaurants and bars. Not clean, people smoking cigarettes in the dorms and while the staff commented on this, they didn’t enforce it at all. Bed bugs present, got bit all over. Although the staff did immediately get me a new mattress, it was still not ideal being itchy and paranoid for the rest of my stay.

Woken up by bed bugs and waited in the lobby until the morning and then still get charged for the night. Bad way to run business.

The doors don’t lock so anyone can enter into your room at any time. It’s a big problem of security. It was not clean. I woke up with bug bites. After one night of zero sleep, I decided to give up my other two nights and find a new place.
