Split Backpackers

Would not return unless I was under torrential rain. AC gatekept, lied about it turning on at 8. Locker lock finicky. Staff seem always annoyed when called. Reception times not shared. Bunk ladder extremely uncomfortable. Not a social hostel. Tough access: steep uphill, 3 flights stairs. Only 2 showers, 1 gender toilet. Fast wifi though.

No closing or locking doors, kitchen is a mini fridge and sink with a panini press, and overall not super clean. Environment was pretty sketch and tried to stay out of the room as much as possible!

Very bad for the price i paid for it

In my opinion it is crazy expensive, but that’s just general in Split, but was a good experience and a lovely stay didn’t need anything more.

The hostel has great location very close to the old town and all the main hustle and bustle. I didn’t find the staff to be particularly warm and friendly. They could improve in that area. There didn’t seem to be much group integration or social events within the hostel itself. The hostel was fairly clean and tidy. For the amount of money per night the room was quite small. Overall, I have stayed in hostels around the world with much better value for money.

A really solid hostel in the centre of Split which is clean, safe and has comfortable beds. This is somewhere great to stay if you want a chill time in the city, away from some of the louder groups that may visit and a quiet space. However, this is not the place to come if you want any sort of atmosphere or want to meet people. I understand it brands itself as "not a party hostel" but that is taken to the extreme, there is no common area and no activities or events put on to meet others sadly.

Staff and atmosphere are really nice but it’s so noisy!

2 bathrooms in a hostel is egregious!

The hostel was easy to find and close to the old town which was great. It was clean. The beds were more like futons and were very soft so weren’t very comfortable to sleep on. Noise from the whole building (both the hostel and other apartments) really echoed so even though we were in private rooms we got woken up a lot. Staff were very helpful and it was easy to drop our bags before check in and leave them for the day after check out.

Great hostel to meet people in split

I was there for just a night but would stay longer. Very clean room and common spaces, nice to have curtains for privacy in the beds.

Loved my stay at this hostel! The staff are wonderful and Shannon the events volunteer was an absolute joy ❤️ felt very welcome in my short stay, and would definitely come back! It was very clean, and they let me store my bags both before and after my stay!

The staffs are very nice, friendly, helpful. Answer questions and give suggestions promptly either by email or onsite talking. The place is very well organized and maintained, very clean and in order. In addition, the place is very convenient to almost everywere, espercially to bus terminal and ferry.

Really cool hostel located in the heart of the city and less than 5 mins away from the port. The staff was really friendly and helpful in planning activities for the day. Thanks heaps to Nera on all the suggested activities and local knowledge of city, really made the stay great.

Nice hostel and the people working were kind and helpful! Location is great near the old town and the bus station. Kitchen is very very limited with no stovetop or oven (but has a microwave and kettle).

Solid stay! It was very quiet when I went so not much going on. Likely more a reflection of she. J was there tho! Good little stay for one night.

We were a late check in and early check out, and the staff were super flexible and provided very clear late check in instructions, and seemed super friendly!Overall a bit small but perfect for an overnight.

A little bit small and kind of basic but clean and the bunks were good! When I was there there weren't really any social events to help meet other travelers ( I think just cuz it was kinda the end of the season), but luckily everyone there was social and we organized ourselves to go out in a group! Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Also, the front door to the building was not super secure so usually you could force it open without using your key... >_

I love the place. It was small but clean and organized. The staffs are friendly shout out to Marina. The place located right in the heart of Split, walkable to the castle and the harbor. I would definitely stay there again.

This was such a fun hostel to stay at! People were very friendly and it was easy to meet people in the common space. It’s super close to the bus station and ferry port, but just outside Old Town which makes it feel quieter. Made some great memories at this place and would absolutely come back!

Absolutely amazing hostel to stay at. Dora and Marina were so kind and gave the best recommendations on places to go. Rob is also a homie😎 Would definitely stay here again and recommend if I had a friend asking about a good place to stay in split!

Clean friendly and for our purposes perfect: traveled as a couple stayed in private room so cannot comment on the bunks but staff helpful and available and very clean facilities!

Everybody at this hostel was so kind and welcoming. Always felt safe. Awesome staff.

Well looked after clean and tidy … short walk to everything in town and food.
