- Worst experience in 20 years. TL;DR: Check-in was refused because my physical credit card (a modern card without printed numbers) was not accepted. I arrived at the Hunters Hotel at 3:00 PM on Sunday. After I provided my passport and contact details, the receptionist requested my physical credit card for the deposit. I presented it, but she refused to accept it solely because the card number and CVV were not printed on the face of the card. Even though the card is valid, has funds, and matches the booking, she would not process it. I offered to pay via Apple Pay or by inserting/tapping the card, but she cited "hotel policy" and refused to check me in. I was also very concerned because she took a photo of my passport using her personal smartphone. Her insistence on seeing the full printed credit card details, combined with her use of a personal phone for guest data, felt like a significant security risk. When I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor, she refused, claiming she was the only authority on site. Fortunately, Booking.com Customer Support intervened. They contacted the administration and canceled my non-refundable reservation, confirming that the hotel's demands were unreasonable. If you value your time and data security, I suggest staying elsewhere.
+ There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that I liked about this hotel. This was by far the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. The property felt unsafe, poorly managed, noisy, and deeply unpleasant from start to finish. Despite a clear “Do Not Enter” sign on my door, staff entered my room without permission. Even more concerning, they accessed my in-room safe, left it unlocked, and later refused to take any responsibility when money went missing. This alone completely destroyed any sense of safety or trust. The front desk staff were consistently rude and unprofessional, inventing arbitrary rules and enforcing. I was told that having any guest beyond the two registered occupants would incur an excessive fee nearly equal to an extra night’s stay. The staff member claimed this was standard across all hotels in the area, which I later confirmed was untrue, as multiple subsequent hotels had no such policy. They also refused to provide two room keys, citing a shortage, which made basic logistics unnecessarily difficult. The safe in my room was initially broken, and I was told maintenance was unavailable. I managed to fix it myself, locked my belongings, and left the hotel—only to return and discover that staff had entered the room again and opened the safe. When I asked about contacting the police, I was discouraged and told it would be “a waste of my travel time.” Noise was constant and unbearable. The first two nights, someone was singing loudly outside my window until 6 am morning and hotel said they can't do anything about it. When I requested a room change, I was moved to a room where the noise was now from the rooftop of the hotel and the rooftop next door. Sleeping anywhere in this hotel felt like trying to sleep inside a nightclub.
- What ultimately made this stay intolerable was being told midway through my stay that my already-registered guest was suddenly no longer allowed in the room. The explanation made no sense. I later realized they had sent a WhatsApp message from an unknown number during the day asking me to re-register the same guest, without any clear reason or follow-up. After witnessing staff repeatedly accepting bribes from other guests, it became clear what was really happening. When I confronted one staff member about this, her response felt threatening rather than professional, which made me feel genuinely unsafe. The Wi-Fi was weak and unreliable, making it impossible to work. The room layout was also extremely poor, with the bathroom separated awkwardly from the shower, no ventilation in the shower, and water spreading throughout the room. Given the previous unauthorized room entry, missing money, and threatening interactions, I did not feel comfortable leaving my room overnight and checked out the following morning. Guests are required to wear a wristband at all times to re-enter the hotel, and nearly every request is dismissed with “our system does not allow it,” regardless of how reasonable the request is. Overall, the experience felt restrictive, hostile, and degrading. There are many excellent hotels within walking distance in Medellín. I strongly recommend avoiding this property and choosing one of the many safer, more professional alternatives nearby.
+ Horrible stay, horrible staff, horrible hotel, noisy, unpleasant, unsafe. Absolutely nothing to like about this hotel. This was the worst hotel stay I have ever had. Horrible staff, horrible hotel, unsafe, noisy, and unpleasant. The staff take the liberty of entering your room despite the "do not enter" sign at the door, unlock your locked box, leave it unlocked, and take no responsibility for the lost money and for their action. It feels like a bunch of impolite people with no manners are sitting at the front desk treating guests like pr*stitutes and trying to get bribes at any opportunity. I made the reservation for two people. When I checked in, I was told that if there is any guest beyond the two registered people, there will be a hefty charge (almost the same price as a night stay). The guy at the front desk claimed this was the rule in every hotel in Medellin, which I later found out it was a lie and my subsequent hotels had no problem. Weirdly, they refused to give us two keys, claiming that they are short on keys. This was extremely inconvenient, as my friend and I had to coordinate our timing given that we had only one key. Then my safe was not working and they said their maintenance person is not around. I myself fixed the safe and locked my stuff and left the hotel. Then came back and saw that despite the "do not enter" sign at the door, they have entered the room, and unlocked the already-locked safe. Some of my money was lost. I wanted to report it to police, but was told calling the police is fruitless and just takes away from my precious travel time. Then the room was extremely noisy. There was someone singinig extremely loud under my window literally all night. When I asked for my room to be changed, they moved me to a room on higher floor right below the rooftop, and then the sound of music from rooftop caused as much disturbance. So, all over the hotel, you can imagine yourself sleeping in the middle of a night club.
- The staff, particularly one of them named Katherin (Katarina?) were extremely rude, making up random rules just with the hope that you would give them a bribe. I saw more than once people giving her bribes. On top of all of this, what made this stay the worst stay was when in the middle of my stay they said my "registered guest" (room was for two people) cannot come to the room any more. When I asked why, the staff (Katherin) said because they had asked me in the morning to re-register the already-registered guest. I had no idea what she was talking about, but later that night I noticed that they had sent me a whatsapp message in the middle of the day from a random number I have not saved asking me to send the name of the guest AGAIN! I was not sure what to do with all these random and arbitrary rules, until I saw people giving her bribes and figured out what the real problem was. After confronting Katherin, she reminded me with a threatening tone that she was from Medellin (like a cartel member). I felt so threatened and given their history of breaking into my room and safe, did not leave my room that night and checked out the next day right away. The layout of the rooms are horrible with bathroom across the room from shower. Shower has no ventilation, so when you shower all room will be wet. They ask you to wear a bracelet all the time to re-enter the hotel. Anything you ask them, they say "our system does not allow it." The wifi was weak and very spotty and I could not do much work because of that.Overall, it feels like you are in jail, with a bunch of rude people trying to treat you like as if you are a pr*stitute and try to charge you and bribe you at any chance. Save yourself a lot of headached and look at many other amazing hotels within walking distance from this sh*thole.

+ Change your reception people respect customer
- Staff , location music 24/7
+ If you plan to party all night and return to hotel at 4am it’s perfect. If you plan to sleep forget it Building is new and well designed however
- Major road noise on street side until 4:30am. Guest policy makes no sense and not explained properly during check in.
Nunca contestaron el teléfono que aparecía en la reserva, la dirección era una casa en construcción, no puede pasar la noche ahí
Well i guess this is a hostel. Like if they had spare storage rooms in the building and could profit them by stuffing couple matresses and a few sockets. Arguably two full bathrooms but I didn’t get to share with many hosts… however location is perfect next to Poblado party streets.
Bad equipped and dirty kitchen. Loud music. We didn’t like the atmosphere. Location was good!
DO NOT STAY HERE (especially if you are a girl!!!!) - Male hostel worker kept walking into the room and staring or talking loudly at us every night around 5-7am (giving an excuse someone was throwing up when everyone was asleep). - 4 small lockers for 6 beds only big enough for valuables - When asking for assistance they threatened us by saying they’d call immigration - Showering for NYE and walked out to the corridor (directly outside our room) full of the workers performing haircuts w...

+ The location of the hotel is great, you can reach all places in El Poblado very easily. The room has everything you need and the bed is comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is not huge but the food is quite good.
- I would invest in sound insulation. Unfortunately there is a lot of noise at all time and it is mostly coming from inside the hotel. I had a room facing an inner area so there was no noise coming from outside, however there were people laughing, screaming, talking very loudly and slamming doors at every hour of the night making it very hard to rest. Another thing that seems to be the norm in a lot of places in Colombia is the wristband you need to wear for the entire stay. I understand this makes it easy to spot people who are not guests but I’d personally do without a wristband constantly worn for 5 days.

+ Location was wonderful is very close to El Poblado and goods restaurants.
- They need to install an extractor in the kitchen and in La Terraza. The smell of foods was strong and not nice.
+ Location, Staff really helpful
- Wouldn’t book here if I wanted a good sleep.

+ Honestly the staff are great. The bed is super comfortable and the facilities are all really modern.
- They really really need to advertise the fact that this is a party hotel. There’s a terrace at the top floor that PUMPS music all night long. I was put on the floor just below the terrace, and the music went on until at least 5am and it really disrupted my sleep. They do provide you with ear plugs but what they really need to do is advertise the fact that this turns into a nightclub (particularly on the weekends). It’s all hard floors and hard walls so there’s 0 sound proofing. You can hear absolutely everything, including when guests on the terrace are screaming. If you’re staying here, just remember to ask for a room in the lower floors. Either that, or only stay here if you’re here to party.
