Rosalma Hostel

Tive problemas gravíssimos com "Bed bugs" (percevejos). Acordei com mais de 200 picadas pelo corpo, tive uma forte reação alérgica e precisei acionar o seguro viagem para uma Teleconsulta. As camareiras estavam dedetizando as camas apenas com um spray para baratas e formigas, que não combate percevejos. Tentei avisá-las, mas me ignoraram. Quando fiz o checkout e mostrei o problema, o rapaz da recepção até perguntou se "poderia me ajudar em algo", mas sem apresentar sugestões também.

The dorm rooms have definitely seen better days. The bed and room space was used and abused from frequent guests and could really stand to be upgraded. The triple bunks pictured online showed stair steps, but when I arrived, I was put on the very top bunk and had a super uncomfortable two story ladder to climb. After walking the camino, it was painful to climb in and out of. The locker storage in the bed was ok for small items, but there was no designated space in the room for luggage, so guests end up spreading their things all over the floor. In my room, there was a gaping hole in the ceiling, which, after reading other reviews, has apparently been there for a while… I read about bed bugs and noticed one bed in my room that hadn’t been made up with blankets. The mattress looked like it had dirty spots on it like the property knew not to rent it, but again, not doing anything about it. I understand that a historic building is going to have its share of issues, but the bedroom areas really should be addressed if they are going to charge this much per night.

Two sides to this review: First, the staff was absolutely amazing. Everyone was nice, open, tried to help out with everything they could. And the second… BEDBUGS! The first night I came to stay I found one crawling over my pillow… They offered me different bed and room for that night, which I accepted and the next day they let me use their washing machine and dryer for all my stuff, so they were as helpful as possible in that situation, but, I lost a night of sleep and a day out of my stay.

Tutto sommato non c'è stato nulla che non mi sia piaciuto, tuttavia neppure qualcosa che mi abbia fatto pensare "Wow, tornerò certamente qui la prossima volta che passerò da Porto". La receptionist che ho trovato al check-in (ragazza coi capelli corti) l'ho trovata un po' troppo distaccata e poco amichevole. Sembrava fosse lì senza motivazioni personali ma solo perché pagata. Per altro non mi ha neppure settato correttamente il badge, che non mi ha funzionato per tutto il primo giorno, salvo poi l'intervento di un suo collega che era lì alla sera, che ha risolto il problema.

Bed bugs, poor management/staff

Eu só vi os comentários sobre os percevejos depois que já tinha comprado a acomodação, eu fiquei paranoica quando ia dormir. No fim de 3 noites, encontrei 2 percevejos já meio mortos na minha cama e 1 mini filhote vivo. Mas não fui mordida. podiam investir em um tratamento profissional contra pragas. A cozinha bem pequena, mas não usei. Fiquei no quarto de 12 camas, 4 beliches com varanda. As pessoas foram difíceis sem respeito algum com o coleguinha que estava dormindo. Mas a cama em si é boa, acende a luz e tem um mini armario

Leider gibt es in diesem Hostel ein Bettwanzen Problem und wenn ich mir so die Bewertungen auf Google anschaue (hab ich vorher nicht gemacht) wohl auch schon länger... Sie waren zwar sehr nett und bemüht, aber ich war 4 Tage dort und habe aus mehreren Zimmern Probleme mitbekommen und hatte auch selbst welche. Also aktuell würde ich davon abraten, dieses Hostel zu buchen.

BED BUGS! In 4 nights I changed 2 rooms and 4 beds, washed my clothes and cleaned everything but it didnt help because they are litterally everywhere. The whole hostel is infested with bed bugs, even the living room. The same problem had other people in the 2nd room I stayed in. I wish I went through google reviews more carefully, because they have this problem for more than 1 year. It ruined my vacati on 100%.

No dia que estava a sair vi as senhoras de limpeza a limpar as camas e a usar imenso spray para baratas. E uma das raparigas do meu quarto disse que ja tinha mudado de cama e que encontrou "bed bugs" nas duas camas.

No towels provided, the doors of the rooms don’t close properly so it’s easy to leave it open if you don’t realize which is not that safe:) But worst thing is that in the morning i found a bedbug on my bed… bedbugs are extreamly infectious and it’s easy to carry on the bugs on your clothes to home or your next accomodation. I wouldn’t go back again to this hostel but only because of the bedbugs. Also it would be nice to have separate shower and toiletts to women and men.

Pese a la limpieza del hostal y las sábanas, tenía chinches que me comieron viva. El personal fue muy amable y me cambiaron de habitación cuando me di cuenta. Por eso la nota.

Das Zimmer war sehr okay, nur tagsüber ein bisschen warm, da die Klimaanlage aus war. Sobald die aufgemacht wurde, war alles wieder okay. Habe es gelesen, dass es anscheinend viele Bettwanzen geben sollte. Ich habe persönlich paar Spüren am Tag danach gefunden, aber es war nicht so schlimm und hat nicht gejuckt. Könnte auch Mosquitos gewesen sein.

El riesgo de que te roben algo mientras no estás en la habitación es alto, ya que la puerta no cierra, excepto cuando la cierras de golpe. La calidad de las camas es mala; si te mueves, toda la litera se mueve. Además, parece que nunca han limpiado las camas, porque hay chicles pegados a las paredes y las sábanas están sucias y hay chinches en los colchones, las cuales provocan que acabes con picaduras y teniendo que preocuparte por si te llevas o no las chinches contigo.

Located near the metro and no bedbugs. very Nice without area. Surely recommended for others.

hotel seem nice from the outside and the common are as well. When you enter rooms everything seems to be alright until you look on the beds or more likely on the wooden parts of it. We had 3 beds in one room and on all of them there were visible bed bug nests, additionally you could see their discharge on the mattress. On top of that some random guy was lying on one of our beds - we still don't know why they had access to our room. At the reception, they will tell you to contact the hostel via email if you want a refund, and they will get back to you - they won't. You also won't meet a manager there as he or she is "on holiday". On top of that hostel receptionits are aware of the problem. Just don't stay there - we had to look for another accommodation for our own safety. In the pictures you can see bed bug nests from those beds (black dots are discharge).

The hostel has a huge bed bug issue that they are not solving based on the previous issues - they have begbugs all over the hostel for months. I woke up and a guy in my room was panicking about bed bugs being in the room. I left as soon as I could hoping it will be fine. However, later on I found out very itchy obvious bed bugs bites on me and had to spend hours making sure I do not infect my home... I know bed bugs can be everywhere, however I was shocked reading deeper reviews for the hostel finding out for how long they have the bed bug issue (from the reviews on all the floors and rooms) and they are still not solving it. I would definitely not recommend to stay in a hostel having such a huge bed bug issue and not taking any care...

Very friendly and helpful staff. They will tell you where to go in Porto Just in general very friendly to talk with. Very clean. The cleaners clean at stranger hours, but it is clean. Location is super. Slept in the Duoro room, no bedbugs or did not hear anyone else say anything about it.

Bed bugs!!!!

I found bedbugs, and it was really hard to shower, because there was a lack of changing rooms in mixed gender showers. To little space

* the bed bug issue. thankfully we didn't unpack our clothes too much before heading out. when we came back around 23h, guests were murmuring about bed bugs on the 1st floor. We went to our dorm on the 3rd floor, and checked and found a great big nasty bed bug. it was too late to find another accomodation with a 24 hour desk. so we ended up sleeping outside in the beautiful back patio, but then it started raining so we slept in the kitchen.

i was there for two nights and got eaten by bed bugs. i told the front desk and them as well as our roomste knew about the bugs and no one said anything. So they checchecked us into a room with bed bed bugs.... i have emailed the owner of ththe hostel and have not gotten a response. DO NOT STAY HERE

Bedbugs everywhere, avoid at all costs. I was bitten to pieces and had to move hostels

Very nice staff and people there, unfortunately me and my friend had bed bugs and from what we have heard weren't the only ones during our stay. I feel like most of them are hiding in the crevasses of the curtain so if you plan on staying there check the beforehand. Changing beds was no problem though and we got 50% of the price at least. Having bed bugs is definitely not worth the price reduction though

Heads up, there are bed bugs in this hostel and I got extremely bitten during the one night I spent in the all women’s dorm. I had seen previous recent reviews about bed bugs but (stupidly) thought I wouldn't be affected or that the hostel had dealt with them. I was very wrong! Rosalma staff - please get rid of these bed bugs!! If it were not for bed bugs, this would be an amazing hostel. Great beds and facilities and the staff are lovely! Hence my decent overall rating.

BED BUGS. Unfortunately after night two of my stay here I woke up with bed bugs all over my body and face. If you look at past reviews you will see multiple cases of bed bugs going back over 12 months. Clearly there’s a problem which management are not doing anything about. The receptionist team were helpful in moving me to a new bed and refunding me for my stay which I am grateful for, but I really wish that I had gone elsewhere now. Warning to anyone looking to book, do so at your own risk.

Overall the stay was good, but i woke up filled with bed bug bites. I have them on my feet, legs, chest, arms, back, hands and even on my face. It has been a week since i left and the pain still persists, so I had to go to the ER where they gave me two different medication that I had to pay myself. Although the experience there was good, i highly regret having stayed there because of the intense pain over the last week.

Perfect located, nice staff and in general clean rooms. Unfortunately there were bed bugs in my friends bed and the ceiling in the kitchen was full of mold. But the equipment in the kitchen was very nice. I liked the chill atmosphere in the hostel.

bedbug！有跳蚤。头天晚上枕头下发现有黑色的小虫爬过，没有来得及拍下照片就没去找工作人员。第二天身上开始出现红色小包以为是蚊子没有在意，但之后越来越多，抓挠之后更痒更大甚至起了水泡。定的是九人间但其实房间有12个床。房间的门很难关上。房卡给的房间号不是一个数字而是一个手写的名字，要去了之后挨个找。中午一个男性旅客直接推开这间房门进来，我不知道他怎么进来的，也许是因为上一个女生很用力的关门了但其实门也并没有关上。我告诉这男生他走错了，他跟我说以为是这间因为手写体对他来说很难辨认。我和另外两个女生都打不开各自床上的灯，不确定是坏了还是没找到开关。位置还行，但总体不推荐。

Everything good but there are bed bugs everywhere, i changed the bed and still found them . The staff tried to help but they didnt do anything about it.

The people staying at the hostel were unkind and inconsiderate. They would be loud in the rooms and made me feel very uncomfortable. I also got bed bugs while staying here because I stayed here 2 nights and the first night was fine but after the second night I woke up with about 50 bug bites.
