Mosaic Hostel

I managed to get rid of the insects, but I'm not sure whether they were mosquitoes or bed bugs. Also, the air conditioning was very weak and didn't cool the room properly.

Me hospedé en el Hostel Mosaic el pasado 15 de junio junto a una amiga. Teníamos reserva hasta el día 22, al menos yo (ella le quedaba otra semana, ya que reservó para dos semanas) pero nos vimos obligadas a marcharnos una noche antes debido a una plaga de chinches. ​Durante las dos últimas noches empezamos a sufrir picaduras ambas. Al revisar las reseñas de Google, comprobamos que otro usuario ya habían reportado este mismo problema meses atrás. Cuando fuimos a quejarnos al personal, su actitud fue decepcionante: intentaron negarlo, alegando que ya habían fumigado hace seis meses, y no nos dieron absolutamente ninguna solución. Para colmo, se negaron a reembolsarnos el importe de la última noche que no dormimos allí, incluyendo las tasas turísticas correspondientes. El personal, que al principio parecía amable, demostró una total falta de profesionalidad y empatía. ​Más allá de las chinches, la limpieza general del hostel deja muchísimo que desear. En un alojamiento compartido la higiene debería ser extrema, pero aquí las sábanas, el suelo y los baños estaban notablemente descuidados. Las zonas comunes, especialmente el espacio para comer, siempre estaban sucias y la nevera compartida es diminuta y descuidada. ​No recomiendo este lugar bajo ningún concepto. Ha sido una experiencia frustrante, insalubre y una total pérdida de dinero.

What was supposed to be my dream vacation in 2026 turned into a nightmare after staying at the Mosaic Hotel, where I found bedbugs welcoming me. By the way, the front door says "HOTEL'—it's not a shithole hostel. If you don't know about these insects, they'll send you free information (as they did to me), but they take zero responsibility for what you'll go through. If you're allergic, I honestly don't recommend it. And the best part? The only thing they'll offer you is another room, where the bedbugs come from other guests. According to them, 'These insects come with people, like hair bugs that anyone can meet at schools.’ Are you kidding me? The wifi is the worst in Rome.

A Mi habitación le faltaba desinfección y al baño también. Sufrí picaduras de insectos, especialmente chinches de cama.

Las camas hacen mucho ruido y tienen chinches. La gente que estuvo en mi habitación era sucia y ruidosa. Creo que es muy caro para lo que vale

I was bitten all over my body by bedbugs on my first night staying here. It ruined my trip because I am allergic to the bites and had a bad reaction. I was switched to another room for my second night but the damage to my body was already done. Now I have scars all over my body. I wrote to the hotel to ask if they could compensate me in some way but they have not replied. It is horrible. Just horrific. The other issue is the place is full of migrant workers. As a girl I felt unsafe.

Dorms and bathroom were really dirty... Cleaners do not do their work correctly, lot of dust in the sides of the beds, even found few bedbugs under the beds... A massive clean up would be a good idea.

There was a noicy bunker beds and one of my room mate found one bed bug. Hot water worked only in the night like after 10pm.

great location, super close to everything and right around the corner from the main train station. free coffee in the morning. not much of a common area. hot water sometimes didn’t work. i found some dead bed bugs but there was no sign of a nest and i had no bites. it was fine, but not the greatest of hostels. side note: very close to the actual best gelato i’ve ever had (il come late).

Habia chinches en los cuartos, tengo fotos. Lo comunique al staff y fueron amables conmigo, realizaron la limpieza correspondiente pero minimizaron el hecho. Las chinches solo se ven cuando hay una gran población de ellas.

Beaucoup de choses. Accueil du personnel et service à la clientèle très froid. Pas de sourire, nous avons l'air de dérangé le commis à l'accueil avec nos questions. - avons trouvé des punaises de lit (avec piqures +++++ sur le corps) photos à l'appui. On ne semblait pas nous croire. Le préposé à demandé à vérifié l'heure et la date des photos prises(!,!). A changé le matelas à notre demande. Malheureusement, le lendemain, autres piqures. Changement de chambre en nous faisant sentir mal pour le "dérangement"!!!!!! On demande si on peut avoir accès à une laveuse -sécheuse pour laver les vêtements. Non, pas de laveuses ici. Point. Pas de proposition de buanderie ou autre!! Douche sale, ménage fait rapidement. Lits très inconfortable. Base de lit bruyante (dès que la personne en dessous ou au-dessus bouge, craquements++++). Ouf! Pour avoir séjournée dans un Hostel à Athènes ( 3x wow!), je ne recommande cet hostel à personne!!!

Go there and get yourself some lice, fleas or bedbugs. Ruined my vacation. Beds in dormitories are so unstable that even breathing in one of the bunks makes everything shake. No hot water in the tiny tiny shower, not even a towel on the floor, everything full of men's body hair. And when I told the staff that I was hit on by a guy in my dorm in the middle of the night (he was suddenly standing right next to my bed, waving his phone in my face), they asked me whether I stayed in a hostel before - as if something like that was normal. This is NOT a safe place Ladies!

The room + bathroom were disgusting. My sheets had a weird stain on them and the bed was super uncomfortable. I woke up the next morning with bites probably from bed bugs.

No me gustó mucho, la ducha tenía hongos por las orillas y se filtraba el agua (debíamos colocar una toalla en la orilla, la cual quedaba empapada en agua) La cama tenía chinches, terminamos todos picados, fue horrible y asqueroso.

I stayed for 1 night. When i got to bed at night i saw a HUGE dried blood stain on my bedsheet. Do they even wash them? I got bedbugs too. Dont go to this place

I had a nice stay. The staff was helpful and nice. Not a good hostel if you want to meet people though. It is not a social hostel. I also read the reviews after my stay and read that some of the rooms had bed bugs. My room did not have bed bugs but I cannot recommend this place if some of the rooms had bugs.

The most terrible nightmare never seen. In this hostel staff do not care about guests. We had the bedroom infested of bed bugs, we were moved on the following day to another room. It concerned to me my clothes were in the room and i requested a laundry service, they just said no. I also requested a linen, the guy was in reception is a lazy dude, he responded to me come back to 9:30pm, when his shift was finished and it will be the work for another one else. Bed bug infested room, be cautious and check you mattress when you arrive, my plug socket in the wall came unattached leaveing wires exposed and me unable to use it, the ladders for the beds are detachable so very flimsy, shower drain was clogged so would overflow after 2 minutes showering. Would not go back. Loved rome and I'm sure there are better hostels

If I could give this a 1 I would. 1 for the AC which was good. But rats in the alley, sketchy part of town, BED BUGS so we had to change rooms, and our toilet flooded. Not great at all.
