Homey Hostel

I booked through agoda as i thought it had decent ratings for the price. But i would have never booked it having gone through what i had with their accommodation even if it was free. Like the past reviews here mentioned, there were bed bugs, and there still is. And its A LOT of them. I ended up using my inflatable mattress and it still made its way to my mattress. The whole place is infested as the bugs were also came from underneath the door from the common room. As im sitting here 2.30am in the morning as i cant sleep because of the bugs infestation, reading the past reviews, i should have checked google review before booking with this hell hole. Past reply said they will get rid of the bugs, but seems like they are still here to stay. Oh and the one of the toilet door is broken for a long time now. So the owner definitely has given up on this place. Do not book no matter how cheap it is unless you want to be a sacrificial lamb to these bugs.

Giving this place a star for the attentive customer service since they were quite helpful, and another star for the strategic location. Yes, it’s cheap — but does it really worth the price? Honestly, I don’t think so. The hostel itself was far from clean. The common area, sofas, tables, toilets, and even the room were dirty. The common area also had a strong, unpleasant smell likely because someone decided to dry their clothes inside. Unlike typical hostels, the beds didn’t have curtains or individual lights. So, if your roommate isn’t considerate, the only light available is the glaring ceiling light. Not fun when you’re trying to sleep. I shared a room with an elderly couple. Nothing against them personally, but it seemed like they had been living there for a while, and the room had a strong medicinal smell. It might be a good idea for the hostel to assign long-term stayers their own separate rooms. Things got worse when the elderly lady and another guest from Italy both complained about bed bugs. They actually saw them crawling around. I checked my bed right after, and to my horror, the mattress and pillow were moldy, stained, and looked like they hadn’t been replaced in years. Definitely not what you’d expect from a place that’s supposed to host travelers. The location was central, which would’ve been great, if only it wasn’t so noisy. The window in our room didn’t close properly (it was the old-school type), and since the hostel is right at a junction near a traffic light, I could hear every car, lorry and motorbike revving up all night long. Oh, and one more thing: my towel disappeared. I left it to dry next to my bed, and the next day it was just… gone. And this wasn’t just any towel — I bought it in Germany, so yeah, I’m still emotionally recovering 😂😅

There are so many bed bugs everywhere. This is disgusting and unhygienic place I have ever been. Painfully itch that I had to wake up and look around my bed and wall. I found so many of bedbug and others too. My bed has so many different length of hairs- short and extremely long even curly hair. Such lazy and unprofessional business. I was so upset and had a look other bed, it was same as mine. There are so many small gaps that allows losing cool air from AC and it never get cool enough you feel relaxed and besides mosquitos get into room a lot too. I am writing this review as I work up at 3 am. I hope this review help out you to make right decision. I can stand and understand that there are 3 bunk beds and one single bed in such small room. No towel provided, no basic amenity in toilet, no fridge in common area, no person to do check in at day time, water pressure is extremely low. To be honest, this could be all ok as budget stay. It sucks it could not bother you so much. But safety and hygiene is non-negotiable matter. I have more than 10-12 bug bite wounds in a few hours of sleep and get super itch that wonder myself. It swells bigger and hurt more than mosquito bite. It is true - central or connivance location for traveler and cheaper price. But it shouldn’t be this dirty and run the business inhumane way. There must hotel or guest house offer good service and care, not this one. Please people take this review seriously.
