What a gem in Lake Atitlan. Perfect place for swimming and exploring, hiking, and other towns. Fernando is a great host. The property is sparkling clean. It is usually booked for weddings. Feel so lucky that I stayed there.

Fernando is an excellent and very friendly host. If I find myself at Lake Atitlan again, I will definitely be staying there.

Nous avons passé quelques jours fantastiques a Amankaya. le site est magnifique, Fernando fort aimable et la cuisine agréable. Bon si vous voulez faire la fete, choisissez plutôt San Pedro, car le lieu est isolé ( 600m a pied par un super chemin pour rejoindre la route et encore une deu heure pour le village. Nous avons fait le premier jour la balade au Cerro de Oro, et le lendemain le volcan Atitlan en autonomie, et nous sommes baignés ! Dans le village on trouve tous les legumes et fruits...

Beautiful hostel right by the lake :) clean, gorgeous views, and loads of space. There aren't any restaurants or cafes super close so it's best to bring your own groceries, but they communicate that via WhatsApp before.

Amankaya Hostel is a hidden gem! Fernando gave us clear instructions to find our way to the house by boat. Once we arrived, we felt like we were visiting family. Fernando and his dad are so kind and amazing to talk to! They have the best stories. We even had a campfire with them. The house itself is looks like it's from a movie! We were in one of the private rooms and i've never slept so well while travelling. You're surrounded by nature, so it's very quiet and peaceful. We plan to come back :)

Secluded and beautiful hostel. Kayaks free to use, gorgeous guest house and views, wonderful waters for swimming. Takes a bit of planning to get to but it’s worth it and the host helps.

It's hard to find words to give justice to just how good this place is! What's included for a very reasonable price is an incredibly relaxing place with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, warm shower, well stocked kitchen and sensational views. WiFi was excellent, I spent the week working with no issues. Hosts are incredible and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need! Small details like free tea/coffee/water, kayak, hot tub are just the icing on the cake.

I had the most peaceful and serene stay at Amankaya Lake House. Great communication on how to arrive by boat, house and bathroom were spotless clean, very comfortable beds and bedding. I loved hammocking and kayaking. Thank you for your hospitality Fernando. I am looking forward to coming back with friends and family.

Unbelievably beautiful property situated in a quiet, peaceful part of the lake, perfect to unwind and relax and your own pace. The house itself is magnificent, designed and built by family hands, kept to a spotless condition, I had everything I needed and more. A brilliant stay - super quiet and the house is unbelievable. Great kitchen, Fernando is amazingly attentive and we wished we stayed longer

In my opinion, this is the nicest hostel on the lake. It has comfortable beds, a very well-equipped kitchen, large bathrooms with hot showers, and many places to relax. The small size creates a friendly atmosphere, and the owner is very welcoming. Due to its remote location, plan transport and shopping ahead. Perfect for relaxing or working (fast Wi-Fi), with free kayaking and campfires available.

By far the nicest place around Atitlán Lake, and honestly maybe in Guatemala. Got the nicest host, and the house itself is unbelievable. Highly recommend booking at the Amankaya lake house!

THIS PLACE! Goes so far above my expectations that I literally couldn't be more happy. Left feeling like I absorbed a deep peace that I didn't really know existed. Calm. Serene. Welcoming. A dog...🫠 Breathtakingly beautiful views and all the crystal clear lake swims you can stand, in the shadow of a volcano.Fernando is easy-going and funny. There's so much nature and tranquility here. A lake water hot tub w/no chemicals to boot! I don't have words for how peaceful Amankaya is. A hidden gem.

First things first— 10 ⭐️! This is the most amazing property! 🥹 Fernando makes sure his guests feel at HOME! Which is such a comfort when traveling. There’s so many beautiful places to chill, chat, work, this place has everything. I’m certain I won’t find a stay on the same level as this for the remainder of my travels 😭 The only tiny issue is the location is pretty far from Santiago, the walk to the local tienda isn’t very easy— but still doable. Don’t be put off by the small number of Hostelworld reviews, there are many more elsewhere. This is a hidden gem and we couldn’t believe it isn’t fully booked. The architect-designed lake house has stunning views and photos don’t do it justice. We relaxed on the private jetty and in the hot tub. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, hot water, free drinking water, laundry and large kitchen. Wonderful host on site who helps with onward travel. Lovely dog and two cats. Boats to go out can collect 7...

Incroyable expérience au Amankaya Lake House! On a tout simplement adoré notre séjour. Le propriétaire, Fernando, est d’une grande aide et super attentionné, toujours disponible pour nous faciliter la vie. L’endroit était très propre et les vues sont absolument incroyables, c’est vraiment un petit paradis. Le jacuzzi est un gros plus, surtout le soir pour relaxer en regardant les étoiles. Magique. Et impossible de ne pas mentionner Lina, la chienne : tellement gentille et beaucoup...

Meilleur hostel où nous avons hébergés! L’emplacement est reculé, mais c’est un plus! un vrai havre de paix! l’endroit est très familier avec peu de chambres et la propriété est tout droit sortie d’un film, vous pouvez profiter du lac et relaxer sur les hamacs sur le bord de l’eau. Fernando est le meilleur hôte sur terre, il est une partie intégrante de notre belle expérience ! je recommande à 110%
