Marathon Hostel

This was by far the worst hostel we have ever stayed at. I went in a trip with EF ultimate break and they booked the hostel for us. When you first walk in, the downstairs area was nice but then once you get into the room there is only one light for the interior but lights for the beds. The light wasn’t even that bright enough for us to even see in the room. As soon as you got upstairs past the lobby it smelled like urine with a mix of a beach bathroom. Another one of the girls in our trip group ended up getting a separate room because her sheets had fresh blood on them. Another American girl was in the hallway speaking to one of the guest service agents, informing them that she found bed bugs in her room. The shower was filthy and there was a spider on the ceiling. In the video you can clearly see that there is a whole bunch of red mold in the grout and chunked up mildew in the shower as well. It’s as if the shower was neglected like an orphan, as if they never cleaned that shower. When I saw that they were a new hostel I at least hoped that they would’ve had a nice hostel. I’ve stayed at better hostels than this and I don’t even like hostels at all. The picture of this hostel on their site looks like A.I anyways. The breakfast was only a croissant, a biscuit and nasty/ super tangy orange juice or coffee. They had water but it was in jars. Don’t stay here unless you hate yourself and enjoy staying in filth. I just don’t recommend. I worked on cruise ships and had better accommodations than this.

This place was disgusting. The showers were literally covered in thick chunks of mould I had to stop myself from throwing up every time I showered. The rooms were damp and dark, there were no ceiling lights in it either which is so incredibly weird. And not to mention the room literally smelt SO BAD and it wasn’t a person it was simply the stench of the room itself. Oh and DO NOT SIT ON THE COMMUNAL COUCHES!!!!! THEY HAVE BED BUGS!!!!! I sat one for 5 minutes and my whole leg was covered in bites. I also got charged €4 for a Coke Zero at the bar like are you kidding me that’s crazy!!! There was also kids running up and down the halls at all hours. As for the staff, I’m not speaking on all of them but there was one older lady at the reception who had the rudest attitude. Do not recommend this place to anyone it was foul.

My bed had bed bugs or some other type of insect because i woke up bitten all over my body. Price of private rooms is too expensive for what you get.

I had bedbugs bites all over my legs. I realized it only when I left after the second night.
