The stay at the for you/red castle hostel (which is managed as a joined hostel) was a desaster. Firstly, the rooms and common areas were not clean and we found cockroaches in our dorm. Secondly, there were bed bugs in our beds. However, the cockroaches and bed bugs were not the most disgusting thing in the hostel but rather the attitudes of the employees. When confronting them with the aforementioned problems, they denied that there were any bed bugs - despite of the blood traces on the pillow cases and bed sheets. Instead, they accused us of lying and making a scene. After having checked out of the hostel, when we thought the horrendous experience was over, they claimed on booking that we haven’t checked in in order to charge us additionally - as a revenge for our bad but accurate review. After a closer examination of all bad reviews on booking and google, I can state that they don’t handle critique very well but rather deny everything that had been written in the reviews. Even after having stayed at various hostels with low hygiene standards and unfriendly staff, I cannot stress enough that this was below anything I have ever experienced.

CAUTION!!! We found bed bugs and cockroaches in room 2 of red castle hostel!! Instead of helping us with that serious issue the staff was laughing at us and now they intimidate us to make us delete our review. In Google Maps someone reported the issue back in Oktober 2019 already! NOTHING but silencing has been done since! (Probably the same holds true for “for you hostel” as they are interconnected)

Stuff is really friendly and nice and hostel is all in all good. Only 1 star because people in the other doorm had bed bugs, and this is for me an absolute no go and says everything about there understanding of hygene

BED BUGS. As of Monday October 21st 2019 there were bed bugs in one of the downstairs dorm rooms. Check in was a strange process and wasn’t clear if room was ready so we left bags there and explored the city. Upon returning that evening we checked the mattresses we found a bug under the pillow. We raised this with the manager right away who (rather alarming) confirmed they knew it was an issue and had ‘sprayed’ the room. Our money was returned and we checked into a nearby riad instead. I would stay away. Also in response to their comment below, I think my 44 other impartial reviews will indicate this is genuine with the goal of informing other travellers to be aware of a bed bug issue.

Not recommended at all. Stayed there one night planning originally staying more but had to change hostel after the first night. In the 9-bed room, the air conditioning was on the whole night and it was freezing. When I spoke to one of the guys and asked him if I could switch it off, his answer was: “others will complain then”. So I barely slept the whole night. Breakfast was pretty rubbish and poor. Water in the shower is cold. People also complained the next morning that they were bitten by bedbugs.

TRAUMATIC BED BUGS NEVER STAY HERE EVER Whilst staying at Hostel Marrakech my friends and I experienced the worst night of our lives. The hostel is absolutely crawling with bed bugs and we were forced to move. We wanted a refund and the owner refused, shouting at us and telling us it was an 'Africa problem'. Please do not stay here. It needs to be shut down.
