When we arrived, the staff were very friendly and showed us around. They explained the simple rules of when to be moderately quiet since other travellers were sleeping. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean. Their were even towels included! There were no bed bugs except for on the floor under the bed. The breakfast consisted of bread, apples, and various drinks. The coffee was good. Overall, felt pretty safe and we would definitely stay here again!

The worst hostel experience ever due to the woman who hold it, called Suzan. Unfortunately lacks to social intelligence and communication, not friendly at all. ( those skills are mandatory to work in a hostel or hotel, I recommend the owner to pay attention to this). I didn't check comment before my booking, but no wonder later i heard same feedback from my room mates. Breakfast is mediocre. Be careful the hostel had a past about bed bugs, we had to wrap all our stuffs backing home to avoid brining any bugs.

We stayed here in private room for two and had a great experience, there were no bed bugs and everything was clean and the location is near the metro station and city centre. We arrived before the check in and left our luggage for 2 eur there. Reception lady was really kind and explained house rules to us. Our bags were disinfected before we entered the room (it seems that they are just being cautious about bed bugs and other insects). Our room was on the top floor (the stairway was beautiful), it was small, but okay for two people and had air conditioner, night stand and chair. Of course, you can hear other people that are staying in the hostel, but it seems that by 23.00 it was quiet. The bathroom was seperate and shared with one room (there were two showers and one toilet, but you can lock the whole room). You can also use the kitchen till 22.00 and sit in the garden. The breakfast was included. We had some coffee (which was quite watery), some bread with cheese and ham and also you can have some cereal. It was fine for some small snack. When we checked out we left our luggage again for 2 eur and collected it afterwards. I would recommend this place (private rooms at least), seems that only bad reviews are for the rooms with bunk beds.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The staff are so rude, the wifi does not work, the showers do not work, there are bed bugs! This is the worst hostel I have been in in over 3 years of constant hostel travelling

We had the most absurd experience with this hostel that we have ever had in our travels. Right after the cancellation deadline passed and the double room was paid for, we got a message from Booking that due to plague problems, the luggage would have to be disinfected from the outside upon arrival. Alarmed by this, we checked the reviews for the last few weeks and saw that the reviews were constantly talking about bed bugs, uploading photos of bitten arms. Most recently one day before our arrival from a guest who had been to the so cool hostel in September. My boyfriend is highly allergic to any insect bites and I don't want to bring home bed bugs either. So we politely asked for a free cancellation upon i derer arrival. This was refused by all the staff most unfriendly. Also the hint that it does not bring much to disinfect suitcases of guests, if the bed bugs are in beds, was described as not applicable. According to the manager, the reviews were from guests who were there months ago and they had already solved the bed bug problem. Yet Booking says under the reviews the month of the stay. So the staff lied to us. I think it is irresponsible to risk the health of guests to make money. I am appalled that we had to pay without using the room. I can only advise anyone not to stay at this hostel.

Got bitten by bedbugs at night. First time this has happened to me. Was wondering why they were steaming my bag before I went in, now I know why. Contamination!

In the middle of the night I woke up because I was itching terribly. Something has bitten me . I had to move to another bed with no blanket because my bed had bedbugs. I had 5 bites on my arm, two on my stomach and probably more elsewhere. Left a big rash on my arm that took a few days to heal.

This had to be one of my worst experiences in a hostel! apon arrival at the hostel we experienced a rude welcome by the staff. we arrived early and were not aloud to enter the hostel until check in and couldnt even leave luggage at the property after a long day of walking. the bed i was given had stains and hair on the sheets and unfortunately bed bugs! also had no access to a common room or kitchen after 10.30pm and staff made everyone have to go to their rooms.not so cool hostel! bead energy!

The property itself was in a nice, secure building and location, however there were a few issues that made our stay not so enjoyable. The first being the bed bugs. I visibly saw a few in and around my bed and the staff had everyone leave rooms daily for them to be able to clean and steam beds to get rid of them. I was under the impression the staff were aware of this infestation as we were required to “sanitise” our luggage upon arrival which was just a steam of our bags (everyone knows steam gets rid of be

BEWARE BED BUGS!! Me and my boyfriend got bit up. Was told that they were aware of the issue and had closed down the week before and replaced all the furniture EXCEPT THE BEDS. Definitely opened earlier than they should have, and now we and the other guests have to deal with the consequences. I understand bed bugs can be brought in by others, so I won't blame the hostel for that, but choosing to continue operations without adequately addressing the issue is their responsibility, and it reflects poorly on the hostel. Also, what they don’t tell people is that the reason they kick you out to clean is to kill the bed bugs who are very much alive and crawling on you the night before.

We did not show at the hostel as they do have BEDBUGS and do not inform guest in advance. We are hoping for a refund from booking.com

guys, BE AWARE of this place. I'm so surprised I didn't see any reviews signaling that the hostel is full of BEDBUGS! THEY BITE you. if you kill one - you'll see a bloodstain (of another person maybe). that's dangerous for your health. I changed the room, but they're everywhere, even in the bathroom. I returned home with my arm covered with 15-20 bites and red spots. and just imagine if accidentally bringing them back home? a short stay turning out in long lasting problem and expanses for disinsection. staff wasn't surprised when I reported the issue, it's a known problem, they insist that just recently it was resolved and refused to take responsability blaiming their desinsection provider. but the guests pay the host, and it's not our concern to figure out who's fault is that. they also insisted that I'm the first one to report lately (which I doubt), yes, these creatures are small, but definitely noticable. I was visiting Porto during 4days music festival and everything was fully booked so I couldn't rebook anything close to the same price and not outside of city. hostel staff didn't agree on compensating any expenses and put me in a hopeless situation. so the situation itself is catastrofic, the way staff handled it - not much better. PLEASE AVOID. overall, the hostel looks good, spacious, nice building and all the devices seems to be clean and not too used.

The staff was nice, the location was good, in general it seemed to be a good place, but we got bitten by bedbugs, all over. After the first night, when we discovered the bed bugs, the staff returned the money and we changed the hostel. They said they will close the room and disinfect, their reaction was great, nevertheless as I'm allergic to bedbugs, I'm really struggling with the bites and my skin right now.

That stuff was rude- When they were cleaning the kicked me out of the bathroom and also from my room. I just laughed at it but that’s unacceptable Bedbugs in my bed locker was broken kitchen and other shared spaces were closed from 10pm- 8:30am. You can’t even take anything from fridge. I don’t recommend and wouldn’t stay again.

Bed bug will be a nightmare for you at night. I don't like the check in time of the hostel.

The bathrooms didn’t really have any where to place your stuff when you showered so you had to sit it on a bin or dirty clothes basket if it wasn’t taken. The doors and dividers between the showers and toilets were also see through so not much privacy. The room we stayed in also had bed bugs, we advised staff who were good about it but unfortunately could not do anything at the time eg. provide us with another bed so it was a little uncomfortable. They said they were going to try and fix the issue once we left.

Unfortunately I have bedbugs at my home now… I called the hostel and asked if there were any bedbugs incidents. I was told that they have received a complain the same day. So it seemed that they just found out. When I read the reviews of the last 2 weeks before my arrival afterwards, I realised that they must have been aware of the bedbugs in their rooms before my check-in. Very annoying.. I know bedbugs can infiltrate any hostel, no matter how clean they are- BUT, this needs to be communicated transparen

Half of the group I was traveling with including myself got bed bugs from this place. Bed bugs were crawling around on the sheets during the day, which indicates a massive infestation. The owner took no responsibility for the issue. DO NOT stay here unless you want to be itching the entire time you’re in Portugal.

Bedbugs everywhere and the owner hasn’t done a thing about it. She was also mean about it and took no blame for her nasty beds and quarters. To have bedbugs out and about during the DAYTIME shows just how nasty that place was. Do NOT stay there ever. The owner takes absolutely no responsibility for her hostel and runs a bad business. You also cannot make noise past 10:00 pm, AND all the showers and bathroom stalls are see thru. There is nothing good about this hostel; you’d be better off sleeping in the streets. The food is dry and moldy.

There were bedbugs in almost everyone’s beds, they were on the towels and I saw one crawling on my pillow. However we were issued a refund but definitely disrupted our trip in Porto.

Susana is the best, please give her a raise. I cannot recommend this hostel as it is infested with bedbugs. Myself and another traveler got really badly bitten.

I came to the hostel to stay two nights. As I landed in the morning, I went to the hostel to drop my backpack, which the person who answered the door didn’t seem very happy to do so (there’s a fee of 1€ to drop the bags). The staff, a part from one sweet lady, were just doing there job, without any joy. The toilet has only glass doors, which is not exactly private (plus there’s no lock in the showers - also no shelves or hangers for the clothes whatsoever. Breakfast was okay. 1 bread, 1 cheese slice, 1 ham slice and coffee (there were some cereal if you want as well). The room has huge windows- which is beautiful, but no curtains, which I don’t mind. But if you have light sleep, you will not get your rest - also a bit noisy. Now, the worst part is that they always said that we could not be in the room from 11am onwards for cleaning, and what I thought was mosquitos bites during the first night ended up being bedbugs bites over my whole body. Foot, hands, legs and arms all covered by it. I’ve been in hostels before, but this has never happened with me before, and despite being very positive, I’m certainly not thinking about going back.

Take it as a friendly advice and book another place. I'm always traveling, I've stayed in many hostels around the world, I got the highest genius level years ago and let me tell you, this hostel was a nightmare. First of all, it doesn't matter if your flight is delayed or anything, after 9 they will refuse to check you in and refuse to cancel/change your reservation. Not only that, but when I came back next day, they said I can only check-in at 3 although my previous night was paid so my bed should've already been clean, right? Apparently not. My bed was INFESTED with bed bugs, like a lot of them. I understand that bed bugs are carried by guests and I've had situations like this in other hostels, but the difference is that when I told the receptionist about it, I got a "it's not our fault, it comes from the guests" as a reply. No offer to clean the beds, no empathy, nothing at all. This was shocking. Add to that the fact that the toilets were closed for a few days, the shower is almost always cold, the common areas close at 10PM etc. Trust me, get another place.

Hostel has bed bugs and staff is extremely rude. Will steal your money every chance they get

Worst thing: bed bugs. They are cleaning the rooms everyday, but still in my bed there were bed bugs. I had stiches all over my body. They did not refund any of the costs or showed any compromise. Also there is no area after 10 pm where you can chill out and meet other travelers. Bathroom was clean, but next to the sleeping room. So it was really loud if someone had a shower at night or flushed the toilet. Breakfast was fine. Not for vegans (f.ex. no plant milk)
