Staff and ambience is good.. but my bed got bed bugs..

Bedbug infestation in the dorm rooms. we woke up with so many bites and when we made the staff aware they just offered to change the sheets despite atleast 4 people in our 8 bed dorm had bed bugs in their bed.

BED BUGS!! I stayed here for 2 nights and the second day I was told that my room needed a deep clean without an explanation as to why and that I needed to move but since I saw people were still staying in the same room that evening I requested to stay and not move so I didn’t have to pack my belongings and they were okay with it. The next morning I found a bed bug on my mattress and when I confronted the staff as to why the room was deep cleaned in the first place they then admitted that it was because a guest had found blood stains on the mattress and obviously decided to hide this information from me to save face but it seems like this is an ongoing issue for them looking at past reviews since the staff didn’t seem very phased by it and weren’t taking it as seriously as they should have.

BEDBUGS! First we booked a private room, it had AC and no window. After 1 minute inside the room we started to have pain in our throat, eyes, nose and mouth and we felt dizzy. There were also dead bugs on the floor. We suspected that they sprayed chemical insect spray right before, because we saw an employee walking around. We confronted them and first they said that it was ‘the flower perfume’. After multiple attempts to tell them how dangerous this is for your health, he finally admitted that they sprayed the chemical bug spray. They didn’t have another private room so they gave us a dorm to ourselves. All the beds were dirty so I started checking the room because I didn’t trust it. I found bed bugs in the room!!! The guy from the reception wasn’t even surprised. We got a refund and left. Entire night ruined and now we have to wash all of our stuff to get rid of the bedbugs….. Be warned! Do not go here

Would not stay again there. Found a bed bug. Sheets are super dirty - stains, blood traces and yellow marks. Even if "laundry can’t remove all stains" they need to buy new sheets asap it’s not okay Staff is super nice and changed me dorm straight away but every bed was filthy - lots of hair, dust & other around. Really seems like they don’t clean except for shared spaces. Same for the bathroom. Water’s hot but can get burning hot quick + lots of mosquitoes and haven’t seen sth done about it

Leider sehr dreckig mit bettwanzen. Hostel war auch komplett leer, haben uns schon gewundert. Es waren überall Blutspuren auf den Bettlaken und sahen auch schon benutzt aus. Mitarbeiter waren zwar sehr nett, das macht aber die räudigen Zimmer und Bäder auch nicht besser. Hostel hat bestimmt Potenzial wenn die hygienischen Bedingungen verbessert werden, aber momentan kann ich es überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Sind noch in der Nacht vor wegen des schlechten Zustandes des zimmers und vor allem wegen der bettwanzen abgereist.

Ersteinmal gabs keinen Strom in unserem Zimmer, Blutspuren von BETTWANZEN waren überall auf der Bettwäsche verteilt, Kot von Bettwanzen und BETTWANZEN waren im und außerhalb des Bettes, an der Wand waren zerquetschte Bettwanzen, Schamhaare lagen in den Ecken der Schlafkapseln, Matratzen waren unter den Bettlaken am schimmeln und Bäder waren räudig. Uns wurde nichts davon mitgeteilt und konnte auch anhand der Bilder nicht erkannt werden. Hostel war menschenleer. Sind mitten in der Nacht gegangen

BED BUGES! not only this but this place is shocking, there’s mould, the sheets has blood on them and the mattress has not been changed in about 200 years. Tired to leave a review on hostel world but they cancelled my booking before I could do it….hope this finds you well, book elsewhere or a cheap hotel for the night

Bed bugs!

BED BUGS!! DON’T STAY! The hostel will not tell you, though, that they have bed bugs, even when the sheets are badly stained with blood and droppings from them. Two girls in my room said they saw bugs in their beds, but the staff lied to me when I asked if they had bed bugs. I ended up getting bites and left immediately. AC worked so so in the dorms. The staff are kind and welcoming and the walking tour offered by Jar is 10/10 (you can book his free tour with him on insta @explorewithjarrr)!!

The worst hostel ever. There was a bed bug infestation. I only stayed one night, and I still have bed bugs in my backpack because of the extreme infestation in that hotel. The place was disgusting — it smelled bad, everything was dirty, and it was honestly a horrible experience. It was not clean at all, and the conditions were unacceptable.

my bed had bed bugs so i switched to an empty bed next to me and that also had bed bugs, the staff were lovely however and food from the restaurant was nice, i just wish i knew about the bed bugs before staying so just making others aware.

Old Batavia’s strongest asset is the people. The staff and local residents are very hospitable and helpful. I felt fed and cared for. This created a great atmosphere for meeting people despite the otherwise drab decor. The hotel is a bit rundown regarding the showers and lockers and I think I got bed bugs from the unwashed sheets. The location is pretty good as it’s 10minute walk from the Cikini train station which will take you to most major sites. If you arrive at the airport by 10pm you can take the train straight there.
