+ BS service they didn’t check me in because “my previously provided documents reflect on the system and bla bla BS” btw it was midnight and it sucks

+ ANOTHER MALE GOT INTO MY BED AT 3:30AM! Nothing at all went well, it was a complete disaster and I missed my 6:30am appointment, the entire reason why I stayed here for 1 night and I didn't make the group portion Scuba Diving course I paid for. I literally went to bed with a sleeping pill @ 11pm and by the time I woke up at 830am my watch said I only got 3 hours and 8 minutes of sleep WITH a sleeping pill. And it was just like that, non-stop being woken up which is really hard to do when some takes a sleeping pill.

- I took a sleeping pill at 10pm, fell asleep at 11pm. Woken up at midnight by people talking so loud outside on the patio, staff told me to wait because their shift just started. I had to say something and they didn't stop. At 1am two new people arrived to the room and decided to start talking, even after getting into the bed above me the guy kept talking and I had to tell him to stop. Then he snores so loud all night waking me up non-stop and I would shake the bed to stop him and it would immediately continue. AT 3:30am I AM AWOKEN BY ANOTHER MAN GETTING INTO MY BED! Some drunk Irish kid under the age of 21 and completely blackout drunk. He actually was in the bed with the guy above me before he got into my bed. I had to scream and fight with the staff just to have the guy removed from the room! Seriously? They didnt even kick the guy out of the Hostal! What if I was a woman? UNDERAGE DRINKING TO THE POINT OF BLACKING OUT AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTING OTHER PEOPLE WHILE THEY SLEEP.

- Bathroom door doesn't have a lock. Bad management. 😞

- There is only 1 bathroom for the dorm beds and the bathroom door doesn't have a lock. This allowed a large, aggressive gay man to walk in me while I was got to the bathroom. Worst hostel in San Diego but great if you like sexual harassment.

+ L'emplacement à Ocean Beach est le seul point fort de cet hébergement. La personne qui nous a reçu était très sympathique.

- La chambre n'était pas conforme à la description. Il était annoncé 18m2 sur Booking mais la chambre en faisait moins de 9 !!! Une arnaque !!! Aucun espace autour du lit double superposé. Le sol de la chambre était sale. Le lit était inconfortable. Aucune insonorisation entre les chambres et avec la réception. Le téléphone a sonné toute la nuit. La musique à fond à 8h40 le matin, mais de toute façon je ne comptais pas faire la grasse matinée dans un endroit aussi inconfortable. Le petit déjeuner était à la hauteur du reste. Pas de café disponible, des produits bas de gamme emballés. Pas d'espaces communs extérieurs si ce n'est deux chaises à côté du local à poubelles. J'adore les auberges de jeunesse, j'ai pu en visiter deux autres durant mon séjour en Californie mais là c'est du grand n'importe quoi et je ne comprends pas la bonne note affichée sur Booking.

- I didn't stay. I arrived close by, illegally parked my car and hurried inside to find out how to get my car into their secure carpark (which I'd booked through the booking form) before I was fined. The volunteer counter attendant refused to give me directions/instructions until after I'd checked in and paid. After obliging her, she then proceeded to tell me there was in fact no secure parking available on the premises and showed me a faded map of the area where I could park my rental car (full of expensive, irreplaceable items in my 'luggage', most of which could not be safely stored inside the facility). I responded as any thoughtful, frustrated, honest person would to dishonesty and dimwitted incompetence. Millennial service staff are NOT automatically entitled to my respect (as this budding adult stated) for their mere existence, and her bland rudeness and refusal to think beyond her already limited capacity was only slightly less astounding than the two young women who chose to gang up on me by entering the ensuing argument. After initially telling me that they had no way to contact management, then refusing to contact the manager on my behalf and refusing to give me any details beyond 'contact management via booking.com', the pack leader finally obliged and the manager arrived soon after. He calmly refunded my money, stood by his staff's ineptitude, attempted to justify the false advertising regarding parking on the premises and proceeded to ban me from future stays at the hostel. His assumption that I would EVER consider giving his company my money in exchange for a bed at any point in the future, actually made me laugh. It also served to reflect the arrogant disconnection of this hostel's workplace culture from 'self responsibility' and 'customer service'.

+ Excellent stay! Very good for travelers, vanlifers, etc. Perfect access to the beach. Highly recommend!

- Breakfast was very limited, noisy dorms to sleep, pillow and blanket not great

+ I felt very comfortable at the hostel. The rooms had heating and the bed was comfortable, everything was very clean. The person at reception speaks Spanish, which is a big plus, and they were very kind. I didn’t wake up for breakfast, so I don’t know how good it is 😂. The location is perfect, there are many things nearby. I would definitely stay there again 😁

- Some staff were kinda sassy, check out was at 11, I left one swim suit on my bed as I was trying to find parking. Made it back by 11:03 but got a call at 11:02 stating I need to check out immediately. She was not nice about it & ended up hanging up on me as I was trying to explain I was literally walking in right now to grab my last thing on my bed, there was no grace in the moment. Why so much sass when you’re living on the beach girl? Staff just seems to be very much in there own world, not really engaging as much with others like some other hostels I’ve been to.
