Casanaga

None of the advertised activities (yoga, hiking, family dinners, arts) were available on arrival, with no prior notice. I was promised a refund if I deleted by review, which I did. The hostel owner then ignored my emails and did not refund me. The hostel does not align with the values expressed on the website.

THE MIXED DORM IS IN THE SHARED KITCHEN | People cook and chat next to yourbed at random times, and don't respect house rules regarding times, of course. one probably wasted guy cooked a pizza at midnight; of course you can't tell them not to eat, but it's gonna get noisy at any random time. you better be a woman and book the reserved dorm. not worth the value in that regard. otherwise, very friendly and helpful staff, amazing location if you look for remote place with gorgeous walks. tasty meal

From the very first moment I stepped into this hostel, I felt extremely comfortable! The volunteers are so nice, the whole atmosphere is so social and friendly and also the location is amazing if you want to escape the touristy parts of Tenerife. Still, I have to say, that the price is quite high, also because no events were going on, like dinners or beach clean ups. Still, this place will always feel like home to me!

The location is great although it is quite secluded and isolated from any town. If you like hiking, this is the spot. It felt like another island altogether from Tenerife, I didn't quite feel like I was there, too westernised for me personally, breakfast is great and optional dinner to pay extra some dishes great, others average. A schedule throughout the day means you're restricted to what you prefer, some activities available but mainly drinking, smoking and getting shitfaced.

Casanaga was lovely! I wish I could have stayed longer. Ollie was so kind and very hospitable. I would definitely stay again!

Beautiful location and wonderful volunteers and visitors. Close to great hikes and the beach, and you can hear the ocean right outside. Family dinners were great and it was nice to have a decent Christmas dinner, especially as a solo traveler. Main thing I wish is that smoking was controlled better. For a place where fresh air was a big draw, I couldn't seem to find any place or time that it didn't reek of cigarettes (including during dinner), making common areas hard to be in most of the time.

Lovely people, great atmosphere on the terrace or during the jam session! I can really recommend!!

The staff were incredible making me feel welcome on my solo trip. The dinner was so delicious (Sunday roast) and we all ate together on the rooftop. Later on in the night we all had wine or beer as one of the volunteers played guitar. Never been to this part of the island and was located right on the seafront. Honestly had a blast and slept like a baby, will be coming again!

Absolutely amazing hostel - family dinners, free breakfast, comfortable beds, and most importantly an amazing host. I only stayed for one night but i have immediate regret and fomo, I will definitely be returning. Shout out to Ollie! The amount of work he puts into Casanaga is insane. I’ll be back soon!

Amazing views, amazing staff, amazing food

The hostel is super lovely. Especially the hosts / volunteers are really friendly and try their best so you have a good time. It is a really nice community vibe. It is just a little bit small, so there is not really space for the amount of people to relax if it is raining and you can’t use the amazing terrace. But that’s just a leck of space and I think they did the best of it. Would definitely come back. :)

Tolles Hostel! Der Female Dorm ist großzügig geschnitten und hat einen traumhaften Ausblick auf das Meer. Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten sich außerhalb des Zimmers zurückzuziehen. Leider gab es während meines Aufenthalts kein gemeinsames Dinner.

Super hostel dans un coin magnifique de Tenerife ! L'ambiance est super et le gérant y participe pour beaucoup. Super endroit pour faire de la randonnée, se reposer et rencontrer des gens. Parfait pour les voyageurs solos.

Super nice expérience and probably one of the best hostels were I ever went!

The place is amazing, the vibe is super cool and chill, it's comfortable and clean, the surroundings are exceptional if you like to hike... I was supposed to stay two nights I ended up staying a week. Probably the best hostel I ever stayed in, big thanks to Ollie and the volunteers 👑

Lugar especial en el norte de Tenerife. El ambiente que hay es muy acogedor y tanto las personas trabajadoras como las voluntarias contribuyen a que se respire libertad, comunidad y respeto.

We had such an unforgettable experience at Casanaga. The most friendly atmosphere, and a beautiful properly nestled within idyllic scenery. Ollie and the volunteers are both helpful and attentive, but most importantly they are all interesting, friendly and wonderful people to be around. 100000/10 thank you so much 🫶🫶🫶

great hostel! staff is really nice and fun. the location is great and all facilities are great, I slept really well at casagna

The location of the Hostel is amazing. It’s perfectly located in a quite remote part of Tenerife (a car is a big advantage, but it’s also doable by bus) with wild beaches, enchanted forests and amazing hikes with stunning views in walking distance. Next time I’m in Tenerife, I‘ll definitely come back! I still need to try surfing, which wasn’t possible for beginners due to the stormy weather in December.
