The Cathedral Hostel

There is no lock of any form for the rooms, so anyone can enter (also the female dorms) and to enter the hostel you need a code downstairs and upstairs, both which are not personalized and don’t seem to be changed frequently.. and apparently the police was called the nights before because people from outside entered searching the rooms.. no reception after 9pm. And once one of the workers there screamed at his female colleague for 15mins straight.. I got so weird vibes I left after 1 night..

Muy mala atención por parte del señor host italiano que me grito y falto al respeto. La Verdad salí muy decepcionado

Une arnaque totale. Je suis arrivé devant l’hôtel, personne n’était là, j’appelle le numéro afficher personne ne répond. Je demande le remboursement de ma nuitée, aucune réponse

Probablement le pire hostel que je n’ai jamais fait ! J’ai prévenu à mon arrivée que je ne resterai que deux nuits au lieu de 3, ils n’ont pas voulu me rembourser alors que j’ai prévenu 48h à l’avance. La chambre n’avait pas de climatisation, il faisait extrêmement chaud. Les draps étaient tachés de rouge. Horribly horribly hot there was a fan that didn’t do anything and no AC. Annoying you have to pay to use a locker that should always be included in a hostel stay.

I would never stay here again. Room smelt like urine.

Owner(?) yelled and chased me through the hostel at midnight because I called the hostel phone number when my key wouldn’t work. Terrifying experience for a young solo female traveler, I had to hide in a bathroom until he left for fear he was going to kick me out. He berated me until I cried for not using the intercom system, which I didn’t expect to help after reception hours. Good location and nice building but no AC. Maybe if I was fluent in Spanish I would have gotten instructions before...

hostel ok for 1 night

Si no te importa dormir con tus vecinos de habitación (luz y ruido), entonces es un buen lugar. Hay espacio entre la pared y el techo, así que aproveches en plena noche de la luz que encienden los ocupantes de la habitación al lado. Las paredes son de papel, así que aproveches toda la noche de los ruidos de los vecinos, incluido los más incómodos.... Pasamos una noche sin dormir. No recomendaremos.

Al hacer el check-ing me cambiaron de habitación y muy temprano al día siguiente entró un cliente con el responsable indicando que habían chinches. A mí solo me dijeron que los posibles responsables son los de la lavandería. Luego de una semana volví porque tenía una reserva pero la misma responsable que me habia atendido ya había salido y el responsable italiano de noche la llamó y ella pidió verme por la cámara. Es muy para lo que es. Pagué para la toalla (que era muy mala y no secaba) y para la llave del locker, a pesar de que yo siempre viaje con mi candado justo para ahorrarme todo esto. El sitio es en pleno centro, el personal muy majo y el cuarto y baño de chicas estaba bien

The hostel has a great location in Murcia. The lockers were located outside of my room and only came in a small size. Moreover, my room was close to the Main Street which meant it was very noisy at night, also no curtains on upper beds and light was shining through the door when someone moved in the hallway. The hostel itself was pretty clean - except for the little oven which was disgusting. The woman at the reception was super nice. Very convenient for one night. I wouldn’t like to stay long...

I had a lovely stay for one night at The Cathedral Hostel, I would highly recommend this place! Everywhere was nice and clean, including the room itself and the shower and bathroom facilities. The staff were warm and friendly and the whole check-in/check-out process was quick and simple. I didn't use much of the common areas i.e. the kitchen and social rooms but I'm sure they were equally as great :)

Stayed in the 10-bed dorm on Calle Trapería. The hostel has a retro vibe—squeaky beds, vintage furniture, and zero modern frills (no personal lights or USB sockets). The owner isn’t the friendliest, and the only staff member who spoke to me did so in Italian, which wasn’t helpful. The real issue? No double glazing on the main street. the location of the hostel is very nice!! what concerned me was that you are not able to look your room and have to pay extra for a locker. it was very cold in the room and not comfortable at all. the price for the room was good though. would recommend for a night, not for a longer stay.

Fantastic location for the hostel, however it had a very strange vibe. Only 1 key code from the street to the building, and 1 for reception which is kept the same, and no codes or locks for the individual dorms, so didn’t feel that safe. Lockers in women’s room too small to fit a regular backpacking backpack (all the same size in my room). Renovations going on for most dorms so very noisy during the day. Also the man who works at the hostel was often yelling, and he there was some tension

La recepciónista fue super amable. Están renovando y haciendo obras dentro, pero la localización es muy recomendada.

Security was the biggest thing for me here. I chose the mixed dorm which has no lock. The entrance uses a door code and it was changed with relatively little communication to guests. Despite this, I awoke one morning to yelling and shoving as a supposed thief had come into the hostel. The bathrooms I think were under some renovation so I give the dust a pass. Though the hairball in the one shower available at the time was there my whole stay.

Estuve una noche nada más. Estaba en reforma una buena parte del hostel. La chica de recepción muy amable. Me llamó la atención que no hay recepción 24 hs (nunca vi algo igual en mis viajes). La habitación bien pero poco ventilada (sentí que había mal olor). El colchón sentí que se hundía fácilmente y de mala calidad. Para una noche no está mal y buena ubicación. Capaz un poco costoso dadas las condiciones, pero sí repetiría si fuera nuevamente de paso.

Primera vez que me alojo en Hostels y la experiencia ha sido brillante!! El alojamiento es muy familiar, las recepcionistas te conocen y se saben tu nombre desde el primer momento!! Todo genial! Es muy cálido. Volveré cuando vaya de nuevo a Murcia!!!

El hostal está más o menos bien. La chica que trabaja en la recepción es amable, pero deberían revisar el olor de las habitaciones.

Location very good, down the road on the left towards Cathedral, just before Casino is excellent for breakfast, Hostel is very clean,basic as you wou expect, getting in is difficult as you need entry code. Girls helpful though only Spanish spoken. Men, if you are six foot tall you might want to lock yourself in the whole toilet block as closets very small with door shut

I had a great stay overall. Staff is awesome especially the Italian guy is a legend👍 . Only negative thing was the mattress in Room 2 Bed 8 - it's totally worn and uncomfortable.

J’ai passé un super dans cette auberge. Située dans le centre ville mais chambres au calme. Personnel très sympathique, cuisine et salles de bain étaient propres. Mise à disposition d’un sèche-cheveux, de savon et de café. J’y retournerai volontiers !
