Bedbugs!!!!!!

I woke up covered in Bed Bug Bites I think. I was so worried about infestation I tossed a bag, granted it was old.

Bedbugs! Don't think I've ever been chewed up so badly in my adult life. Very unfortunate as I liked the hostel and the location. The bites can last two weeks. Even with medication it's really terrible. I recommend always googling how to check your place before you unpack your suitcase! And of course Google reviews in advance which I wish I did now.

They take care of the cleanness of the facilities but still along with my brother we left with bad bedbugs bites. I discovered them only on our last night when one of them was climbing on my towel. In a peak I was covered with 42 inflamed and painful bites for a few days. I couldn’t speak with anyone as no English speaking stuff was available on a check-out morning. I emailed the hostel regarding this and never heard back.

Hostel to avoid! There are bedbugs in the beds — I’m speaking from my own experience in the dorms. But the worst part is that there have already been reviews mentioning this and nothing has been done about it!

Avoid - bedbugs!!!! It’s a recurring issue I’m certain staff and management are aware of due to the number of reviews that already mention it, but it seems like nothing is done and they try to blame it on guests’ “allergies to mosquitoes” instead. Poorly managed, hard to get a hold of staff who can actually help, and they are truly unapologetic and take no responsibility at all. Helpful only when prompted. This is coming from someone who never writes bad reviews too, but I think fellow travellers should save themselves the nightmare and just book a place that costs a little bit extra. It’s cheap for a reason.

Bed bugs, Rude cleaning staff and strange vibes I arrived at the hostel at 12:30 pm and politely asked to leave my bags. It was a hot day, and I just needed a moment to sort out my things and change out of my boots. But the lady who let me in was rude and rushed me out. I left my bags but wasn't allowed to change my shoes. I’ve been traveling for over a year now, staying and working in many hostels. Allowing guests to quickly sort their belongings and prepare for the day is a standard part of hostel life. Being rude on top of that was unnecessary. I should’ve read the other reviews more carefully, as several mention rude cleaning staff. I no longer felt comfortable staying there, so when I returned at 2 pm for check-in, I asked to cancel my reservation. I explained what had happened, but they said it was just the cleaning staff and refused a refund due to hostel policy. I should’ve cut my losses and left then as now I’ve left with bed bug bites. I told reception about the bites, but they weren’t apologetic at all. Aside from all that, the hostel doesn’t look like it does in the photos. In the lounge, the couch was piled with blankets like it was being used for storage. The courtyard and the location are decent, at least, but there’s no real atmosphere here. I wish I’d spent the extra €5 and booked somewhere that treats their guests better.

BED BUGS, RUDE CLEANING STAFF, STRANGE VIBES. The staff were unnecessarily rude when I arrived. I tried to cancel my stay after this but I was told that it was just the cleaning staff. Even worse I got bed bug bites here and reception didn’t care. I should’ve read the other reviews, several mention rude cleaners and bed bugs. Photos don’t match reality, no real atmosphere. Wish I had spent €5 more for a better place. My worst hostel experience after over a year traveling.

I was affraid of Bed bugs as reported in previous comments. I didn't get bitten (i dressed like burqa to sleep though^^), and didn't see any. NO ONE complained, but some ppl had rashes.. Otherwise, dormitory bed: the upped bed is too low and we even cant seat on the lower bed. Outside is quite noisy. Kitchen timings are weird (3 timings/day, and they aren't followed: cleaning during open hour). NOT YOUTH HOSTEL, many old ppl and calm. But met some nice young ones. Cheapest place found in Catania

Edit: Nevermind BED BUGS. BAD This hostel is for people who are planning on going to bed absolutely hammered at 3am. Perfect for early 20s creatures without the ravages of ages who's whole outlook won't be shattered by a night of technobeats. My 32 year old partner and myself are sadly not such creatures but the price is right, we just didn't expect the tax of tomorrow's happiness also. I watched my partner eat a pistachio cream pastry with dead eyes the next morning. I need you dear reader to understand the gravity of poor sleep you will have. Usually pistachio anything causes him to giggle like a baritone school boy. You have been warned.

Le Pire hostel de ma vie entière , très sale , personnel irrespectueux , et qui ne parlent même pas anglais Bedbugs partout ! Pas de petit déjeuner , c’est des menteurs

There were bed bugs in the 12bunk bedroom, i got bites all over my body. Saw them in the morning crawling. People were rude when checking out (it was not 10 yet and my friend was coming back to his bed, and they were already removing everything, angry at him that his stuff was still there). According to the website he had time till 10:30.

BED BUGS ALERT! We stayed in a private room for one night early October 2024. Having checked previous reviews the staff must have been aware of the bed bugs problem for long time. We were not notified at any point of this problem while we stayed at the hostel. We have not only need bitten by bedbugs during that night BUT we have also brought them back home with us back probably in our luggage. This is not acceptable, when lots of people are coming to this place and paying for their services.

Ils ont des bedbugs partout ! Ils entrent dans la chambre et hurlent dedans à 9h du matin tous les jours avec le personnel de ménage et de l’accueil qui sont irrespectueux et pas professionnels (ils ne savent même pas parler anglais) , se foutent de toi en italien (et oui j’ai compris parfois). Ils m’ont volé l’argent d’une dernière nuit que j’ai payé et ont mis quelqu’un d’autre dans ma chambre , ils ne m’ont pas remboursé et ni même la caution de la serviette que j’ai rendu ! Et ils vous laissent faire votre propre lit 😂 du jamais vu et mettre les draps super même sur les matelas pour soit disant qu’on disent rien si on trouve des bedbugs CRASSE IMMENSE

I need to reserve judgement. There are bed bug problems here. Might stay if they can resolve them. But …. Advise reading the reviews before making a reservation in the future. Those things are nasty for people who are extremely sensitive to them.

Probably one of my lowest reviews for a Hostel. Not terrible, but the kitchen has limited open hours, staff not always available, and I could swear I almost got eaten alive by BED BUGS. There are other reviews mentioning the same. Pretty sure I did not bring them with me. I checked out a day early, Otherwise, price is low. On the weekend there is loud music outside and one of the large rooms overlooks a restaurant.

There is bed bug , I’m staying all the night awake to not sleep in a bed infected by bed bug. It seems not a problem for the crew working here. See the video and judge by yourself. I didn’t read the comments before I booked and that was a big mistake that I won’t do again. Please don’t book anything here , it’s an advice.

A real nightmare, there is bed bugs, I got beaten many times and It’s not mosquitos. it’s dirty , there is dirt in the bed, noisy , old , uncomfortable, a cocktail of all the things that you can possibly imagine. The cleaning woman speak loud and fight each other like if it’s a market and the owner of the place doesn’t care. It’s a total scam.

I luckily dodge the bed bugs but fellow travellers were not so lucky. I did experience staff just walking into the dorm room without knocking when they were showing a new guest. And the AC temperature would be raised to 28-29 degrees during the night. The staff would open the door and use an AC remote to increase the temperature 4-5 degrees. Also the cleaning staff is very rude. Waking up guest by screaming loudly even if they are not checking out that day. Avoid!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISGUSTING PLACE! There were bed bugs in our beds. We were severely bitten. The hostel staff offered no assistance. I have tried to contact them to discuss compensation, but they refuse to communicate with us. They do not answer their phones or they rudely hang up without resolving anything. They do not answer emails. Not only is their hostel disgusting, their customer service is deplorable. I would not inflict this terrible experience on anyone else. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The hostel in general is okay, it even has AC in the room, but it had bedbugs when I stayed not sure if i had bad luck

Hostel da terrore! Abbiamo trovato cimici da letto (BED BUGS) lamentati ci hanno fatto cambiare stanza . Le abbiamo trovate anche lì. Abbiamo Passato la notte insonne. La proprietaria furbamente ha cancellato la nostra prenotazione così da non poter lasciare una recensione dal sito . E su Google maps non riuscivamo a trovare l’hostel perché con altro nome. Esperienza TERRORIZZANTE NON ENTRATE LÌ DENTRO

My things were stolen from my wardrobe, bed bugs in every bed and everyone is kicked out of their bed at 10:30. Toilet lids are also not available everywhere. But hey, the location of the hostel is really good.

Le hostel savait parfaitement qu'il y avait des bed bugs dans l'hostel, a continué à louer les chambres comme si rien n'était, et quand un autre commentaire à fait surface concernant le problème, et que nous voulions annuler la réservation, ils n'ont rien voulu savoir pour rembourser. Un avis a été fais à Hostel World, car cet hostel donne exactement le meilleur exemple de service terrible. FUYEZ!!!!

Unfortunately, I've got a bedbugs in the hostel. According the review on the booking.com, they were spotted already in July. And there wasnt anybody who could I communicate with. Reception is open later. Kitchen closed till 8. Changing sheets dont help to get rid of them! Ive a great allergic reaction and my holidays are ruined.

the host is really nice and location is good.but some rooms have bed bugs.

The place was OK but the bed was terrible and I felt the springs, in addition, I was eaten by BED BUGS ALL NIGHT!

!! BEDBUGS !! This place has bedbugs and after reading the reviews you can tell that they have had them for a long time! It wasn’t very clean and the rooms were way too small for 7 people. It was impossible to sleep without earplugs because people were screaming even until 6 am in the morning.

Basically a solid Hostel, with good basics. BUT there were bedbugs, staff was quite unfriendly and it was a kinda messy. Because of the bedbugs my friend spent a horrible night, while the common room was closed in the night. The next morning reception opened late. Staff didn't really care much. I stayed longer and had a similar experience the next night. This hostel has good prerequesites, but service needs to be improved. I dont recommend to go there until all Bedbugs are gone!

BED BUGS!!!! CIMICI NEL LETTO! I read the reviews and I thought it was just bud luck but no… there are BEDBUGS and for me that was not the worst… the attitude of the guy at the recepcion was horrible, when I told him about the bed bugs at 2 am in the morning, he told me that maybe I was lying and he was really rude all the time. Then the next morning the cleaning lady came early talking by phone REALLY LOUD not caring about people sleeping. The worst experience I had ever in a hostel. DON’T GO

DO NOT GO!!! BED BUGS!! We spent a total of six hours here just to get some rest. In those six hours we saw multiple bed bugs and were bitten all over. Do not go here. I do not believe they would handle this situation well and get rid of them. Staff is also pretty unfriendly and you just get what you pay for. I would spend the extra €10 and go to a nicer place. I never leave reviews but I cannot believe we saw multiple bedbugs on the wall and then were bit all over.

I wasn't expecting an amazing hostel but still got disappointed. The bathrooms are always super dirty and the cleaning staff is very unfriendly. I found 2 bedbugs on my last day and they didn't seem very alarmed about it. Just saying they didn't have some for years. The kitchen is open only to very specific hours. No proper place to store your luggage for check in/check out which feel very unsecured. It's definitely not a place which help to socialize to other travelers. But its a cheap place.

trutture così non dovrebbero neanche esistere o almeno non essere presenti su booking. Le fotografie postate sono completamente l'opposto della realtà, le camere sono lugubri, sporchissime al limite del vivibile, al nostro arrivo abbiamo subito notato cumuli di polvere ovunque, bagni sudici, pavimento sporco macchiato e pieno di capelli. Per non parlare degli insetti. Nella camera in cui sono stato infatti poi abbiamo trovato CIMICI DA LETTO: PARASSITI INFESTANTI. Siamo scappati alla seconda notte su 3. Lo staff non rispetta le norme anti covid, in quanto tutti e dico TUTTI, lavorano senza mascherina. Una domanda ma come fate a essere aperti? Strano che l'ASL locale non vi abbia ancora fatto visita. SCONSIGLIO a tutti i viaggiatori di venire qui. Davvero, spendete qualcosa in più e andate altrove. Structures like this shouldn't even exist or at least not be present on booking. The photographs posted are completely the opposite of reality, the rooms are gloomy, very dirty to the limit of livable, on our arrival we immediately noticed piles of dust everywhere, dirty bathrooms, dirty floor stained and full of hair. Not to mention the insects. In the room where I was in fact then we found BED BUGS: PESTS. We escaped on the second night out of 3. The staff does not respect the anti-covid rules, as everyone and I mean ALL, work without a mask. A question but how can you be open? Strange that the local ASL has not yet visited you. I DO NOT RECOMMEND all travelers to come here. Really, spend a little extra and go somewhere else.

Run away! BED BUGS!!! Run away! Bedbugs! I stayed for 1 night there and had bed bug bites everywhere. I couldn’t stand the bites anymore and decided to wait at the reception because there’s nobody at night. The next morning at 9:30 the stuff came and told me it’s MY problem to have bed bug bites, but not theirs. Then they kicked me out and threaten to call the police if I don’t leave right away. I told them ok call the police and they didn’t want to call.... see the photos of 2 bed bugs I killed in the bed
