Extremely rude reception from owner at arrival for no reason. Overheard owner shouting at staff that they are "not slaves" Tiny room with very little natural light, poor state basin and damp smell Fire exit closest to our room was blocked Staff were unaware of fire safety procedures Breakfast not available till 8:30 with no flexibility even for coffee Room not clean with another guest's clothing left under bed No hot water in shower Comments directed at owner rather than staff

Not woth the expensive price tag. The staff was nice and the boats were cool the but there was no hot water on any of the days, no wifi in the rooms, the rooms are tiny (hard for 2 people to even stand up in) and a 20 min walk from anywhere.

check in/check out times on website/hostel world are not correct. staff banging on multiple doors before the posted check out times yelling at residents to leave. shower water freezing cold after just a couple minutes, bedrooms uncomfortably hot even after opening window. closet door broken and did not shut. when we arrived there was a fly in bedroom. dangerous low ceilings and metal parts of the floor sticking out with no warning signs my toe and banged my head hard. no water at breakfast?

The place is in need of new management. The staff there was friendly and helpful but they do not have a way to communicate with them (email and phones in the website do not work). I could not communicate I was going to arrive late and had no key to go into my room the first night. Eventually I found it on a table. I the morning the key got stuck in the lock and told them to please fix it. Key got lost again. Very poor communication but helpful staff. I would not go there again.

Local muito apertado e não tem um bom isolamento acústico, ou seja, você vai ouvir muito barulho durante a noite. Para uma noite é ok 👍

The atmosphere was nice. You can hear everyone moving so when you are trying to sleep and people are walking it’s noticeable, but nothing ear plugs won’t fix. The staff were friendly and helpful (their dog was so cute)! While the rooms were small they were clean and secure. It was a mix of young and older people which was nice; definitely not a party hostel but more of a relaxing environment if you’re not into that.

The rooms were small, which I was cool with 'cause I saw that coming from the pics. But seriously, the noise from footsteps on the wooden floor was way louder than I thought, even after te reviews. Also, the shared toilets needed more attention – bins were overflowing with paper since we couldn't toss it in the toilet. Made the place kinda messy.

Das Boot ist super zentral gelegen, aber leider sehr hellhörig, die Nächte waren nicht erholsam.

You Love it or you hate it. I have loved it. The staff is very nice and I liked the *little* dog.

One of the showers was running all night near my room which was pretty annoying to hear all night. I thought the location is great it is just hard to find the place and no one answered the phone all day that was posted. I spent most of my time looking for the boat because the location was wrong on maps. The place was taken care of well and they provide towels and bedding which other hostels I had didn’t. Good for the price. Close walk from Centraal; not a busy area so feels chill. The area surrounding feels safe but the luggage storage does not— bags are put in a back room (with the door left wide open) next to a bowl of dog food; I bought luggage storage nearby for cheap. The walls are thin and you’ll hear people walking in the hallway every time. Bathrooms/showers aren’t cleaned regularly but they’re okay for the price. I never who worked there or who was a guest so that was confusing.

Auberge atypique à faire une fois dans sa vie ! Les chambres sont toutefois mal insonorisées et l’eau de la douche pas toujours chaude donc je ne recommande pas pour plus d’1 ou 2 nuits. En plus il n’y a pas de cuisine donc cela fait plus hôtel qu’auberge. Néanmoins j’ai passé un agréable séjour et le bateau n’est pas trop loin du centre-ville

Great value for the price, especially in off season. I didn't miss anything. It's a bit noisier but nothing what ear plugs wouldn't fix. Rooms are big enough if you travel with one backpack, but I wouldn't recommend this with big suitcases or more luggage. Breakfast was nice with lot of variety. Would definitely stay again. Rooms and bathrooms were clean.

Mathias and thé team are really cool, Avalon the best. I recommend this place with no doubt.

Great location that is about a 15 minute walk from most things. The breakfast is great and staff are helpful. Would stay here again

Property was clean, staff was nice, loved it all! Would have stayed here our whole trip if it had been possible!

It is super well located, shower pressure was great, breakfast was delish. Honestly great value for the price

Had an amazing stay here! We loved everything about this hostel (even it's small rooms... that is the authentic boat experience!). The staff including the lovely dog was friendly and they recommended a great restaurant nearby. Sitting on the deck of the ship in the evening was perfect. We would absolutely come back!
