Owner asked for an honest review: Can’t recommend if you value cleanliness or sleep. The kitchen is constantly filthy—dirty dishes piled up, food splattered everywhere. Dorm rooms are cluttered and unkempt. The ‘community’ vibe means loud parties until 3 AM. The whole place reeks of stale smoke and weed. Freundlicherweise wurde mir den Schlüssel gelegt, da ich verspätet ankam. Ansonsten sind mir bei diesem Hostel prison break vibes hochgekommen. Ich habe noch nie so eine dreckige Küche gesehen. Meine Bettdecke hat nach Schweiss gestunken und Blutflecken drauf. Ich will nicht wissen, wann diese das letzte Mal gewaschen wurde. Die Lage ist cool, da es im hippen Firtzroy Quartier liegt. Ich würde es aber nicht weiterempfehlen.

Zeker geen aanrader! Vreselijke accommodatie! De eigenaar is een ontzettende onaardige norse man. Ik lag op een kamer met wat leek op een stel junks. Vapen en alcohol werd gewoon op de kamer gebruikt. Er was totaal geen interactie zoals bij andere hostels mijn ervaring is. Had voor een week geboekt maar ben na 3 dagen naar een ander hostel gegaan. Jammer van het geld maar weggaan was de beste keus ooit!

This place is a dive, and should not be open for booking. It is filthy, unsafe and the staff are incredibly rude and invasive. We spent the longest three nights of our life there and honestly we think it needs to be inspected by the health and safety authority. Everything was terrible apart from the location. The o*ner gave me the shivers and I didn’t feel welcome for a second. He also shouted at my partner because she did not lock the bathroom door.

Been travelling around the world for 6 months and this is one of the worst I’ve stayed at. Very dirty and basic. One communal area which is outside all the dorms where people stay up all night playing music and shouting. Sounds like they are in the room. This happened every night and went on at least until 7am when I left for the day. No staff in hostel to manage.

We would not recommend this hostel. When we arrived we received a hostile welcome. The room had an awful smell, the bathrooms were unclean and the kitchen cluttered. The long term residents slept all day. Our room was right next to the communal area and the walls were paper thin so we were kept up at night by people chatting. On check out we were waiting for 45 minutes to find someone to give us our deposit back. Overall a very uncomfortable stay which felt like a waste of money!

All in all a small and familiar hostel. The owners are very kind. Sometimes it’s very clean, but sometimes at the kitchen or the bathroom didn’t gave me a hygienic feeling. We were in September, it was very cold, because the floor ist very open, the same temperature than outside, toilettes and showers too. Kitchen is sometimes crowded by people. Upstairs, I saw 3 Mouses jumping around the sofa, where you can watch movies. That’s a no go for me and the main reason for only rate the host...

This could have been quite charming and convenient if not for the incredibly rude man who was I think is the owner’s husband. Also, the mattress sagged, quite badly, but that it secondary.

Lovely place to stay in Fitzroy I got there quite early in the morning after a long flight Nik was there to let me in and was so kind to let me go to bed almost right away as sleep was very much needed There are a lot of long term whv people staying treating this place like their home Which is more than fair enough and they’re all very lovely! But it does mean the place gets a little messy from time to time But all is well cleaned daily

The staff were really kind and happy to help. Since it is a smaller hostel you actually got to know most of the people there and also really good location in Fitzroy.

Lot of long term people but all super nice & definitely the best hostel in Melbourne in terms of the social aspect & location. Cleanliness could be improved though and if you’re a woman I defo recommend staying in the female only dorm!!

I would highly recommend Tramstop14 backpackers Fitzroy as a place to stay. The room/bathroom wasclean.the bed/ pillows comfortable. It was nice to have a window in the room for fresh air. Juan was welcoming and gave a good tour and info about the place. The shared lounge is nice comfortable space to sit and relax or watch tv. Close to cafes, restaurants and shopping if you choose not to cook in the well appointed kitchen. Tram is right outside to go into the city. Very nice stay private room.

Just feels like you're part of a big family!

Lively, cozy hostel in great location. Had a great stay here our first few nights in Australia. The owners are nice and helpful.

Good value for money with a good location near the centre of city and all the basics you need. very accomodating staff and quick reponse when needing to get in touch

I loved it here so ended up extending over a week. Great facilities: a kitchen where everyone gets their own locker and box for the fridge and a perfect social space where everyone hangs out in the evenings. Its so easy to make friends: it feels more like a hostel family than others ive stayed in, as there are some longer term guests as well. The location is perfect, just a ten min tram to the centre, in a much better suburb with loads of cheaper bars, cafes and second hand shops.

I loved this hostel I wish I could of stayed for longer. It's not your commercial stander hostel but it's amazing. The kitchen is well kept yeah there's a few dishes left now and then but that's people. The vibe is amazing there's a lot of people that have been there for a while and know eachother well but they were so welcoming. I got there at an ealry time and they made sure I still could get in and sourted. It very different from the hostels I've stayed at before but I'd go back here.

Accueil très simpatique, les gérants sont une famille et sont très simpa L'ambiance est super cool et c'est très cozy Les frigo sont très grand, y a assez de place pour tout le monde, ils sont a bonne température et les aliments reste frais longtemps Y a meme un robinet pour avoir de l'eau bouillante c'est cool pour faire du riz ou des pates rapidement Au niveau de la connection internet, aucun probleme Les casiers sont tres grand autant les chambres que la cuisine Chauffage dans l...

All in all a very nice hostel to stay for long or short time. Its very familiar and its easy to connect with the other hostel guys because of the nice social areas. Staff is more than friendly always there for you if you need them. Unfortunately the kitchen is not the cleanest one but you got lockers for personal stuff in your room and also for your food in the kitchen.

El ambiente no es muy lindo. En las habitaciones hay casilleros grandes para dejar las pertenencias bajo candado. Hay pocos baños pero son grandes, y la ropa no se salpica con agua mientras te bañas. Las instalaciones son un poco viejas. Lo bueno es que en la cocina también tienes un casillero con candado y cada uno tiene sus vajillas y cubiertos. El comedor solo tiene dos sillas. El living esta bueno, con un TV para usar. Te hacen depositar $50 y si haces el check in antes no te lo devuelven...

Nice small hostel, it is an interesting building with some outside/covered social areas. There were quite a few long term stays who were all really friendly and welcoming. Lockable locker per bed plus one in the kitchen your groceries.
