Hostel Cerro Torre

On m'a indiqué que tout l'étage était fermé à cause des punaises de lit, mais j'ai du mal à comprendre comment on veut me faire croire que le problème n'est pas également présent au RDC. Lits très vétustes, chambres très petites. Et bonus pour le personnel extrêmement bruyant, l'impression d'être dans une colonie de vacances pour adultes avec tous les volontaires qui squattent les communs, qui sont déjà très petits. Je suis partie avant la fin de mon séjour pour un autre hostel à une centaine de mètres, qui était beaucoup mieux.

Downstairs reeked of gas constantly which was concerning and the kitchen facilities left something to be desired including a rammed fridge full of expired food and hobs that did not really work. A number of people had bed bugs in their rooms and weren’t relocated to a different room until the next day due to lack of spare beds. Facilities, despite being cleaned daily, were not very pleasant - mouldy shower etc. Beds come with a sheet and a thick bed cover (which they ask you to leave on the bed as they do not wash between guests!!) so we ended up using our own sleeping bags and liners.

‼️bedbug warning Beware- we stayed here in the 6 man dorm, and it was badly infested with bedbugs. Apparently someone had reported it to reception a couple of days prior as well. We did see them bag the bedding as we left, but not sure what measures were being taken. People were refunded for future nights there, but not for the night they were discovered. I suspect the bugs are in the bunks themselves, not just the bedding. I’d stay well away.
