Tipsea Turtle Gili Air

The staff are incredibly rude and keep your money. When you give a deposit the first day (everyone does), they claim you didn’t when you check out - only when I threatened a bad review did they give my deposit back. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and showers not clean. The vibe is fine if you’re 18 & wanna drink at all hours of the day.. Also, notice how every negative review they respond very defensively instead of owning up to the issues🤣 Pls stay somewhere else, this place is awf...

Great staff,pity about the two alleged owners. I experienced their arrogant/ bullying behaviour towards a member of staff and general rude bad taste slurs in general. Urinating in the garden beside the bar seating is not a good memory Mr. Pee-wee or your threatening tones. Beware of these 2 if they invite you over. They like to get their kicks from other people and their staff. I checked out after my first night .Few toliets/showers, soft beds, poor a/C, tiny pool, stressed staff but nice.

Location is nice and close to the beach, staff super friendly. Good social activities. However, bathrooms were disgusting, bins constantly overflowing, and showers stunk. Also found a pair of someone else’s (possibly dirty) underwear in my bed, and reception just laughed it off. So that was a bit gross and made me unsure if they actually had changed the sheets previously.

Comfy beds but a very loud hostel if you're looking for a quite night. I might have been unlucky with the placement of my room but it was hard to find anywhere to relax within the hostel as the communal space feels limited considering how many people are staying. The location is nice and beachfront but I don't think you can go wrong on location in Gili Air as everything is walkable.

We didn’t rate this hostel at all, the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming, we found that this wasn’t the case if you were a girl as on numerous occasions we saw they were overly friendly with girls than boys. The room was different to what we paid for. The shared bathrooms were not always clean and didn’t have shower gel/shampoo etc. activities were not always on, they advertised a pool party one of the days and when we arrived there was nothing going on. Poor hostel wouldn’t recommen...

Ongoing construction throughout the day in common areas and by upstairs bedrooms meant that you couldn't hang around and relax in them with noise and decorators everywhere. Was very surprised to be charged full price with no notice of construction. Also be aware that families and children can stay here which definitely changes the typical hostel dynamic with toddlers wandering around. Staff were very lovely but was left underwhelmed by the hostel itself, particularly for the steeper price.

I wanted to relax and chill after weeks of backpacking, and in the end I found myself caught in a party hostel among party animals. There are several activities, most of them related to alcohol (for instance snorkling boat with alcohol). I had a dorm next to the pool and the bar and with party animals, so I couldn't really withdraw on myself. This wasn't what I was looking for, I ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you look for a calm reatreat, just avoid this place.

However there is a big focus on the volunteers and it turns the environment into a party love island vibe, with lots of focus on drinking every night. Personally not to my taste but may be for some. Quite upsetting that the local staff left with the hard work don’t have their own rooms and sleep outside near the bar.

Hostel is not bad, location is good, but if I were to describe it in 2 words, I would say a "sweet chaos". Things kind if work, employees are nice... but then it seems when they built it, they used all the wrong materials possible. bathrooms are cleaned often, but the wooden shower doors are full of mold and black because of water, same then showers - I guess it looked fancy when new, but now bronze is turning green and it leaves metal smell on your hands. pool is also used by a diving centre ne

i would rate this place a 12/10 if i could. genuinely the nicest hostel i’ve ever stayed at. staff and volunteers are awesome.

Nice vibes, great pool with bar and activities every day. But I can't lie, some of it was really dirty. My sheets had stains on and the bathrooms were not nice.

This is my fave hostel ever!!!! The pool and outside space is soo nice, and everyone’s so chatty and inclusive there, helped along by the fun volunteers. So many people here just keep extending. There is so many activities that make it easy to meet people and it’s really clean and well looked after, they clean the toilets by the pool every hour!! I love the yoga too. I honestly wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. Super comfortable, great location, and loads going on if you’re into that kind of thing.

Best hostel on gili air, rlly Social and activities everyday, fun staff too

Such a cool hostel! loved it here as it is very chill but also can have some fun nights out. The volunteers really help bring people together and the yoga teacher is amazing!

Really enjoyed the stay here, great vibes fun activities and the volunteers help everyone have a good time. Deffo recommend

Great hostel, rooms were so clean and had the comfiest beds ever!! the free brekkie is delish and the reps are so friendly and welcoming, shoutout to Hannnah, David and Joe for making me feel at home as a solo traveller! the best place to stay on Gili Air

Best hostel ever!!! We stayed 1 night then went to Gilli T and we came CRAWLING back to Gili Air for 2 more nights here instead. Best vibes, great pool, daily yoga and activities. The volunteers really make it - thanks to Joe, Andreas, Dave and Hannah for being soo fun!! Social vibes and good nights out without being overly party party. Don’t consider staying anywhere else, I feel like we’d have had such a different and more boring time if wed gone anywhere else. Can’t wait to come back �...

I stayed at Tipsea Turtle for five nights and had a great time! Good rooms, nice people and very social without being too loud/party focused. The volunteers are doing a great job connecting people and organizing activities, e.g. yoga, trivia nights, family dinners or going out together!

Such a great hostel, amazing vibes and the rooms were nice and clean. Joe, Hannah, David and Andreas were some of the best hostel volunteers i've ever met - so sad to leave! Definitely stay here

Had such a great stay here. The vibes are perfect as you can be social and go out but it also doesn’t feel forced by the volunteers and they make you feel welcome Shoutout to Joe Dave Andreas and Hannah for bringing the vibes
