Medina Social Club

nice looking hostel, nice staff, good breakfast. seemed not really clean though, cockroaches in the first room, bed bugs in the second, dirty floor in the room.

Terrible experience. There were bedbugs in the beds, a horrible smell was coming from the bathroom and it filled the entire room. I requested my taxi to the bus station a day in advance, and when the time came, the guy who had taken the reservation told me I had never asked for it. I had to walk with my luggage until I found an available taxi. The reception staff don't solve anything and payment is cash only. I would never come back.

Super clean and well priced hostel. We read some reviews of bed bugs, however we stayed in a private room and our mattress was clean and pretty much brand new. The hostel is beautifully decorated and the rooftop terrace gives an amazing view of the old medina. Staff were welcoming and the breakfast was a nice start to the day. Location was in the middle of the Medina, however it is a 10-12 minute uphill walk to the blue gate.

It looked cute, but I don’t think I would stay here again. My friend got bedbug bites all over her arm!

Very nice atmosphere but sadly there were bedbugs for us and other guests. Also heard that others had the same issue 2 weeks before. So await before you book.

Really beautiful common area and rooftop. Breakfast was excellent and most of the staff were great. Unfortunately quite a few things let it down. Bed bugs in some of the dorm rooms that are just accepted by the hostel rather than dealt with. Also, most things are broken in the dorms. This means no locker or proper shower etc. Seems like they don’t really have a proper cleaning or maintenance team.

Nettes Hostel in frisch renoviertem schönem alten Riad. Es gab keine Küche obwohl das in der Beschreibung stand. An sich war es auch sauber nur in unserem Bad wurde offenbar kein Siphon verbaut deshalb hat es durchgehend nach Abfluss gerochen. Außerdem gab es einen sehr großen Bettwanzenausbruch im Nachbarzimmer worauf das Management reagiert hat mit "oh wir dachten die wären nur im oberen Schlafsaal", auch da waren Menschen untergebracht.

Overall good stay, great location and comfortable home base. A couple things that could have been better: have to pay in cash which was inconvenient, found two bugs in my bedding (pretty sure not bed bugs)

It’s a good place, really damn pretty looking. I think a private here with another person would be really good, but not really the place for solo travelers unless you never want to speak to anyone, I mean you can, just not that kind of atmosphere, and the staff are pretty impersonal and shooey. Some dorm beds also seem to have bed bugs it seems, met two people there who got bites and had to move beds.
