Punta Huanchaco Hostel

Really a special place. Gigi&Dario are the warmest, kindest hosts (and very helpful with local tips etc) and create a lovely, homely atmosphere. Ideal location 5 mins from the point and I used Huanchaco as a base to explore Chicama and Pacasmayo.Great for surfers and non-surfers alike if you just want to chill. Felt like a home away from home. Ended up staying for 2 weeks. One of the best stays of our 4 month trip!

Great hostel close to the surfbreak!

It was a dream! The owners are very lovely and made us feel at home. We spent a lovely christmas there. I love their cats and Their clean home:) thank you!!

Dario und Gigi haben das Hostel in eine super familiäre Atmosphäre verwandelt. In keinem anderen Hostel habe ich mich so wohl gefühlt. Alles war sehr sauber und vor allem die Dusche mit konstant heißem Wasser war eine Wohltat. Es gibt auch einen kleinen Space für Yoga etc. 10/10

I had THE BEST stay at Punta Huanchaco Hostel. Dario & Gigi are the most welcoming people I’ve ever met. They were incredibly kind and helpful, it felt like I was staying over at my grandparents. They gave me some really good recommendations for surf lessons and places to eat. I even got a discount! I was there during a low season, so it wasn’t too busy. The hostel had everything I could’ve wanted and more. The people were just lovely, it was hard to leave this place.

The best hostel I have ever stayed at. Booked for two weeks and stayed for 6. Perfect location for the surf. Gigi and Dario are the best hosts you could possibly ask for. I’ve never felt so welcomed and ‘at home’ in a hostel before. The cats are lovely too, and the place is super clean. Thank you d and g !!

I had a really good time at Punta Huanchaco. Gigi and Dario the owners are very kind and helpful, you can feel they bring happiness to their home along with their 5 cats. I booked 4 nights and extended 3 more. The hostel has a very relaxing vibe with a mix of surfers and backpackers traveling through the coast. Its kept well clean everyday, the kitchen has all you need and the best surf break in town is steps away from the door. Will come back! Muchas gracias por su hospitalidad!

GG and Dario are the most welcoming hosts, and make you feel like family from arrival. Great hostel, warm people with real heart. If you’re staying in Huanchaco, you will feel right at home in Punta Hostel. 10/10

We did not appreciate how the owners tried to solve their overbooking problem by giving us a private dorm beds room as if it was an “upgrade” from the double room we had booked. Also, the water filter needs replacing.

The owners are the sweetest people ever! I would have stayed here longer. Great outdoor space and comfy clean rooms. Kitchen is great and the cats are adorable!

Les hôtes Gigi et son mari sont au top! Aux petits soins, de supers conseils, tout en laissant la liberté de se sentir à l’aise, comme à la maison. Espaces/chambre propres, cuisine, eau chaude, rien à redire. Je ne peux que recommander! [voyageuse solo - je suis restée 3nuits en chambre dortoir de 4lits]

The owners are lovely people. If you're lucky you may have a cat to cuddle at night. Kitchen with everything you need. This is a nice quiet place to relax.

We loved our stay at Punta Huanchaco! The hosts (and their lovely cats) were so friendly and made us feel completely at home. It was very clean and the showers were really good. It was also very social hostel and the perfect place to relax. Would love to stay there again ☺️

Surement l'une des meilleures auberges que j'ai expérimentée. Les locaux sont propres et disposent de terrasses ainsi que d'un espace "gym". L'emplacement est idéal (commerces, surf shop, etc.). Les propriétaires Dario et gigi sont adorables, arrangeants, toujours de bons conseils et font en sorte que l'on se sente comme chez soi. Un réel plaisir d'avoir passé une semaine à leurs cotés (et de leurs chats)!

Superbe auberge, l’accueil des hôtes est impeccable, l’ambiance chaleureuse et les chambres confortables. J’y retournerais n’importe quand.

Very familial atmosphere in this lovely hostel managed by a couple. The hosts are full of good recommendations and are insanely kind and considerate. The kitchen is a bit small, but that did not bother us. We recommend 200% !

Loved this spot!! The hosts were so helpful kind, looked after everyone as if we were their kids. Only thing was our pillows weren’t great and seemed to have a bit of mould on them. Aside from that we really loved our stay!

This is such a special place. You are treated like family here and it is more of a home than a hostel. Super social vibe and close to the great waves. I would recommend it to everyone, I had the best experience.
