Green Riverside Cosy Home

The first night we stayed was great. Lovely owner who helped us book an amazing cave trip and also held a nice family dinner. However the night we stayed after the trip we was moved into there sister building which the room wasn’t the cleanest and when we woke up in the morning the floor around the walls was very wet. I think they damp problem. So our bags and clothes were pretty wet with a few ruined books. We also had some clothes washed there which was given back to us wet and not folded.

Initially I gave this hostel a 6.3 on the website. However, the owner did not like my review and thus she lied to Hostelworld that I didn’t show up. She also called me a liar, a silly guy, a person that asks silly questions, a person that treats locals badly and most importantly: I shouldn’t have come. Linh, you seriously need some lessons on how you treat guest that have a different experience about the Hostel than you might have hoped. Good luck in the future, I don’t recommend unfortuna...

The cleaners did not change the sheets after people checked out, which is honestly disgusting. They just folded the sheet back neatly to look like the sheets were new..

My advice would be to NOT book this hostel. The location is rather isolated compared to other hostels. The staff is unprofessional. When I checked in they just told me to go find my room in the other building that's a 5 minute walk from the main hostel building (the hostel has 1 main building and 2 separate). They have NO staff at the other buildings. The AC doesn't work properly, the rooms were not very clean and the bathroom had bugs. Bad experience 👎🏽

Checking in in the middle of the night was a disaster, even though I had informed the hostel beforehand that it would be late. I ended up in a completely different building to the actual hostel I had booked. There it was a 4-person dorm including a separate bed without any possibility of privacy. I received a WhatsApp on my way to the hostel at 10pm telling me I was in a separate building. I arrived to an awful room. The bathroom door didn’t close, the shower ran out of water after 1 person showered in the morning, the beds were hard and pillows caused me a kinked neck. Bunk beds made loud noise with every move. Nice staff and easy checkin. Room, however, was not very clean and needs renovation. Stains on both pillows and bed sheets.

I had a bad experience at this hostel. Upon check-in, I was given no briefing at all—they just showed me on Google Maps where my room was (building 2, 6 min from building 1) and left me to figure things out on my own. Additionally, my room was very noisy due to karaoke happening right below until 10 PM. On top of that, the room quality was poor compared to the price I paid. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

All in all our stay was very chaotic (bus organisation, check-in, trip advice, …). When we arrived we akwardly had to sit and wait bc. the owner was running around doing several things at once. When we could check in she didn‘t bring us to the room, only sent us the location on WhatsApp. We only had one blanket and one towel for three people. The food from the family dinner however was amazing.

Amazing journey in Phong Nha. The hostel is really good, rooms are clean, food is great, owners are very nice and helpful. You have many activities according your mood. This hostel really want to make connection between people and you can feel it. Travelers there are social but not party. It is a really people place to spend couple of days far from the chaos of cities

It is genuinely so hard to put into words how incredible of a hostel this was. My experience here was truly a 10/10. The atmosphere and the staff were so wonderful. There are so many areas to hang out and meet other travelers. They had family dinner every night and always hosted events to help meet people. They were so friendly and welcoming. one of the best hostels on my trip! lots of different large social spaces, comfy beds, kind and knowledgeable staff! they have good rates for mopeds and will help you book the right guided tour to go into the national park and explore the caves. The bathroom and beds not only look clean but smell clean too. they put on social activities in the evenings as well making it easier to meet people. 10/10 place to stay ☺️

I don’t have enough space here to fully describe my experience at this hostel, but it was easily one of my favorites in Southeast Asia. It felt more like a home than a hostel, and that’s entirely thanks to Linh, her sister and baby Nina. They create such a warm, genuine atmosphere that you immediately feel welcomed and cared for. Over time, they became more like family than just staff, something I’ve never experienced before, even after 8 months of traveling. Everything was amazing!!

I had a lovely stay here. The family dinners, chill area and activities make it a very social hostel without being party-oriented. But Linh and Giang really made the stay memorable. Such kind sisters who go out of their way to help. When I got food poisoning (from another restaurant) the night before leaving, they let me stay in the room longer, rearranged my bus, and brought me rice porridge, lemongrass tea and bananas until I felt better again ❤️

I had the best stay of my entire trip. There are plenty of places to chill, and the staff is fantastic. I really enjoyed the Vietnamese lessons, even though Giang almost took my breakfast away because I couldn't pronounce the words correctly. Overall, I was very happy with the hostel. I would definitely go back.

Had such an amazing stay here! This honestly felt less like a hostel and more like being welcomed into a big family. The whole family running the place is incredibly kind, caring, and always makes sure you feel comfortable and included. What really made this place special were the social activities every evening. There was always something fun going on, from Vietnamese language classes to karaoke nights and other group activities, which made it so easy to meet people.

Lovely, lovely hostel that is friendly to everyone. The view is fantastic, the vibes are amazing, and the internet works very well.

This place is amazing, I wish I could've stayed longer. The hosts are extremely kind and friendly, especially Giang, who knows all the tours in the area. They have events every few days, including family dinners, games nights, and even vietnamese language lessons. A great place to relax, unwind, and meet people without too much partying. Private room was very large, clean, and comfy. Common areas are great and have a beautiful view of the surrounding country. Cannot recommend enough!

Amazing stay in Phong Nha! We spent 3 nights here and had the best time. Linh, Ha Giang and the team are incredibly kind and welcoming. Great free breakfast, huge clean beds, and lots of common areas with games. The location is peaceful, surrounded by nature and close to the river. We even joined a Vietnamese lesson! They also offer bikes, sup and activities to explore the area and caves. You can really feel how much they care about guests. Highly recommend, would definitely come back! ❤️

The best hostel I have ever been to. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and helped me book tours and buses. They even gave me tips on what to do at other places I’m going to. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are several common spaces to relax and hangout. The communal nightly dinner and organised activities each night make it very easy to meet people. Overall could not recommend more and will definitely be back
