Tropical Valley Homestay

Claims free breakfast but charged us for it, the cave tour was well overpriced through the home stay and we also booked our bus onto Hoi an only to find that other people that had booked through other hostels had paid 80k less. If you stay here don’t book anything through the home stay The owner was nice and friendly, and rooms werent bad

Overall stay was ok and the owner very kindly picked us up from our bus stop at 4.30am. However the room I had booked (bungalow) was unavailable at this time, and we were put in a family room instead. Which was ok but the bathroom was very unclean and had a very strong sewage smell. When I asked if we can change to the room I had booked the owner said this wasn’t possible. The location is a bit outside of town so recommend either hiring a scooter or bicycle to get around.

Everything about this hostel was great, except there was a very strong smell of mildew in the dorms, I had a hard time sleeping because of it. I don’t know if it’s just the time of year I stayed there, but it didn’t feel safe to sleep in. On the second night we switched to a private, and that was really nice. However, unfortunately, because of the smell, I wouldn’t recommend staying in the dorms.

The owner helped us a lot and brought us to the bus. Very helpful. The breakfast was very mediocre. Rooms okay, smelled a lot because of mold on the wall, he said it was because of the rain and it needed to be painted but I would suggest more then a paintjob, because I felt sick after staying for 2 nights. Lot’s of spiders so beware. Overal just okay.

Prima hostel. Heel leuke familie, Quy was super aardig en heel gastvrij. Daarnaast was het ontbijt wat je krijgt goed. Wel ligt het hostel een beetje verder van activiteiten dan andere accomodaties.

Super lieve eigenaar, man en vrouw. Je wordt met open armen ontvangen en ze willen je graag overal mee helpen. Gelegen buiten het centrum maar daardoor is het er lekker rustig. Met de scooter, die je voor weinig geld kunt huren, ben je zo in het centrum of naar nabijgelegen activiteiten. Aanrader!

No English speaking staff when we arrived so it was tricky to get any information. No water filter so you need to keep on buying plastic bottles and you’ll need to pay at least a 100k to get here from the bus drop off point. The pool was nice tho

Pool was lovely, and facilities ok. However I booked this due to all the lovely reviews about the staff and I had completely the opposite experience. Not rude, but not super friendly and helpful. Also I was the only one staying here, and it’s really remote, so I didn’t always feel comfortable. I would not recommend for solo female.

This was a lovely place to stay! The free breakfast options were great. The man who runs the homestay was so kind and went out of his way to help us when our overnight bus arrived a few hours early at 4am. The pool was great in the heat too!

Nice Homestay, slightly further out of main town than we were expecting 25/30min walk. The pool was great.

Amazing place to stay, such lovely people and beautiful hostel

Brilliant stay at Tropical Valley. Our room was the best we’ve had in our whole Vietnam trip: spacious, very clean, comfy bed, great air con and shower. Quy is a great host too. It’s about a 30 min walk to the “town centre” where most food places are but some good options closer. We hired a scooter from Quy for a good price and bicycles also available. Well located for the Botanical Gardens especially, via lovely Phong Nha National Park.

Had a lovely stay here! The owner is super friendly and helpful, even let me check in earlier to get some sleep after my bus arrived in the middle of the night. Dorm is fine, the bungalow was even nicer. Nice breakfast!

Super friendly staff/family running the Homestay, helped with booking us a bus and activities and offered to pick us up from bus station. Beautiful accommodation- rooms and garden/pool area clean and well maintained. Lots of good food places nearby. Would definitely recommend! Thank you 🤩

Amazing hostel and run by really great people

My friends and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was such a lovely experience. The host and his family were so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. The host even picked us up from the bus stop. Their children were so cute and friendly. The food is great and there is a big drink selection too. It is only small so not the biggest atmosphere but there is room to socialise with the other guests. It is a chill vibe and is about a 30 min walk or 10 min cycle to all the bars and restaurants.

The family was literally the sweetest. They helped us with everything we needed and although, you could socialize, we were still able to rest there! Thank you for Quy and his family, who made our stay in Phong Nha so special!

Un superbe endroit ! Il est plutôt bien placé. Pas loin des restaurants et cafés. L’hôtel est très beau et on y mange très bien. J’ai été super bien accueillie et l’hôte est toujours présent si tu as besoin de quelque chose. L’hôtel propose des excursions à un prix abordable. Je recommande cet endroit !

Such a lovely stay! The Family is so kind and thoughtful. The children are really adorable and everyone is really helpful and always there for the guests. Best stay in Phong nha!
