cool location and energy in general, but a couple things worth knowing. Bathrooms were pretty rough the whole time I was there and didn’t seem to get cleaned as there was consistent poo stains in every toilet haha. the owner would come into the girls’ dorm at night to turn off the AC unannounced, but he did rounds and turned off everyone’s AC? stingy maybe idk. That said, the volunteers were amazing and honestly made the stay cool

OWNER TOLD ME TO KMS!! The hostel is DIRTY and unkept. I don’t understand how it has such high ratings. The bathrooms are unbearable due to the smell and overall lack of cleanliness. kitchen is in no state to be cooking in,the oven does not work due to it exploding in the owners face. AND I WOKE UP TO A MOUSE IN MY BED!! Je ne recommande vraiment pas. Navrée pour le gérant qui a l’air vraiment très sympathique mais l’hostel est très sale. Il y a une odeur nauséabonde qui est permanente. En plus quelqu’un a vomi dans ma chambre la première nuit car il était trop bourré et ça a senti toute la nuit. J’ai pas trouvé qu’il y avait une bonne vibe à part pour se la coller. J’en ai fait des Party hostel mais là c’était différent..

Very bad service, the receptionist with very bad actitud at the begging he said there was no reservation for us and there were no space, how ever tye hostel was empty

The only reason why people stay here is because GREAT HOSTELS baños ,has a poster on there wall of This place , the only one of montanita, we went , we got robbed , we were flooded with sewage water , so if we got refunded there be a different story

Overall, my experience was terrible. Booked a private room that was suppose to include AC; a ceiling fan is not AC. Additionally, the room's windows do not open, keeping all the hot/humid air in the room. A locker in the room would have been appreciated; at least then, I could lock my valuables and open the door to allow some fresh air into the room. The hostel has four shared bathrooms which are shared and used by the inter hostel resulting in filthy toilets and no hot water in the shower. Addi

Based on all the good reviews, I was pretty surprised when I arrived to see dirty bathrooms and a run down environment. It is clear that a cleaner comes once or twice a week and the bathrooms don't get much attention otherwise - leading to puke residue being left on a sink for 48 hours after the Monday night open bar. The bathrooms also stink and have a lot of drainage issues. The AC only runs from 11pm-8am, and the room I was in one AC was split between two rooms with a hole cut into the wall. ...

it was a dirty, the beds didn't feel clean (like the mattress, they felt humid and the mosquito net for protections were smelled like other peoples sweat, had a really hard time sleeping) also the bathrooms looked like they accumulated dirt for daaaaays if not weeks without cleaning. In the hostel there are some signs that say like o this is the cheapest option around here, but for the same price in other platforms we were able to find cleaner and really comfortable stay.

Was suggested to stay at this hostel by so many people and it had a really good rating on the website however when we arrived we were disappointed. The rooms were very damp and smelled really bad and the toilets were horrible. It does not do well when rains and the whole floor floods. The atmosphere is good to meet people but would just recomend staying somewhere else and then going to the hostel on Fridays for open bar.

Good vibe. Good location. Staff are lovely. But… There’s no keys for the rooms so not very good security to stop people walking in off the streets & The drains smell so bad you can smell it in the common area.

Exceptionnel séjour dans cet hostel ! L’ambiance est vraiment cool et détendue, parfait pour rencontrer du monde et d'autres voyageurs ! Le staff toujours sympa et prêt à aider. Les chambres et les espaces communs sont propres, et il y a tout ce qu’il faut pour être à l’aise. En plus, l’emplacement est hyper pratique pour se déplacer et sortir dans Montañita franchement, je recommande les yeux fermés, Merci Nico !!! à très vite !

Ended up extending my stay. Good friends, good location, good facilities. One of my favourite hostels in Ecuador! Thanks Nico for everything!!

Very welcoming and chill vibe. It's a super social hostel and feels like a home. The beach is just down the street and a big plus is the spacious kitchen but it could use some new tools

honestly that’s the best guesthouse in montanita in terms of value! the ac works perfectly and the kitchen is very functional. all showers have hot water and the bathrooms are very clean. but the best is realy the vibe on the terrace where it is so easy to interact with other backpackers, playing jenga or fifa!!🤩 big up to joao the security night guard who let us check in at 4am without extra cost, you’re a legend!👏🏻

Echt een super nice hostel! Het personeel was super lief en hulpzaam, ik voelde me hier onmiddellijk op mijn gemak. De keuken, gefilterd water en goeie AC waren ook echt een plus. En de feestjes die ze hier af en toe geven waren ook super tof!

Had a great time at this hostel and loved it. The vibe is really family-like and social. There’s a PlayStation, a TV, lots of hammocks,beerpong, a fun atmosphere in general. It’s also super central, had a private room for a decent price. The owner Nico is a great guy, he's lots of fun and you feel instantly welcomed. Highly recommend

Great location, right next to the beach and two supermarkets in montanita. First hostel I’ve stayed with an AC which was really nice. Good atmosphere, really social

Enjoyed my stay at Little House a lot and renewed on two separate occasions. Super social, easy to make friends and located extremely near to the beach. Monday Open Bar is very fun. Thanks Nico and to all of the volunteers!

Nico the owner has an excellent heart that shows with how he treats his guest. If you respect the facilities, the country, the travel you will find a place at my little house surf and backpacker hostel. The facilities are great, and has the best common area for post hangs or just to drink a beer and hang out. You will always find an answer to any thing you want whether it be about love or how to safely travel in Ecuador! Cheers to a great stay.
