Zeus is Loose Hostel

Leider waren Bettwanzen im Zimmer! Liebes Hostel: Bitte überprüfen und beseitigen. Ich habe jetzt eine Rezension von 2017 über Bedbugs.

Bedbugs (I was in 2 different rooms and I found them)

This hostel is really fantastic, I just had one single problem: bed bugs! Stayed there for two days, got many bites all around. Unfortunately every hostel is susceptible to this, just a mattress change and everything will be OK again.

Really nice hostel, rooms are clean and modern with large windows, location is quite nice. Shared living room is huge, big kitchen, lounge spaces and a big dining table. Rooftop bar is a cherry on top. Clean and modern vibe. The only issue - bed bugs. In other room where my friends stayed, 6 bed shared room - one of the beds had bed bugs and he had a lot of bites on his skin. Luckily he was the only one out of 6 people in the room that got them. (his doctor later confirmed this was bedbugs since it was strange to him the only he got them). In my room (4 bed shared room) everything was fine.

The room I was in, had bed bugs. I did not notice it at first, but they bit me like crazy after a few days. I think they should have steamed people's luggage to prevent it and perform a better inspection.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Location is 10/10 I must say. The staff at the desk are lovely, 24/7 reception service, the young bloke is very nice and so are the others. Breakfast was okay with options such as eggs, bread, cheese, mini croissants, milk and orange juice. The common room is nice and spacious, open 24/7 with a nice view. Would be nice if there was a pool table in there. Rooms are okay, just for sleeping so no need for other space to be honest. Showers are nice and clean. Good storage for luggage under the bed of which you have a key. Card to enter the dorm wouldn’t work at all times but it’s no issue going down and asking reception to fix it as there are 2 elevators. I slept well for my stay there but I realised I had many bites when I came back from my trip. I’ve never visited a hostel before or had these bites so I presume they are from bed bugs, nevertheless, I wasn’t disturbed in my sleep and slept well. The Kitchen is spacious too and they let you stay in common room if you are leaving after checkout time. Also, it’s VERY close to the centre and essentially across the road from the aristotlous square and around the corner from the white tower so I visited many times a day. Picture attached is breakfast, view from common room and the Aristotlous square across the road, near to all the resturants and bars near the port.

Property is very well located and common rooms are great but there were BEDBUGS in the dorm I slept in. I did report it to the hostal, they changed me to another dorm were i was supposed to be alone but I wasn’t (i asked and they told me they were fully booked which they weren’t as i checked availability on the website) - they offered me 2 laundry pods to clean my bag as a compensation and that was it.

Got bed bugs and was told it was not bed bugs will link photos if I can find out how. Staff was nice aside from telling me I didn't have bed bugs. beautiful hostel, nice rooms, hard to get on the top bunks. Edit: just recently saw there response and found that quite harsh as still could have reviewed there hostel worse however the bites appeared the day after I got there and more appeared after the 2nd night as I was not given the option to change beds until the 3rd night of my stay after the "expert" had looked at the bed. And they did give me free laundry pods to use and yes they did give me free ointment, like I said they were nice aside from telling me I did not have bed bugs. 1st photos are from day after, 2nd set is from a week later.

I got bed bugs here and they told me they weren't bed bugs can't figure out how to add photos but I looked like the wiki of bed bug bites, aside from that was a good hostel

Bed bugs!! Got bitten pretty bad, 40 bites in one night!
