Star Hostel Taipei Main Station

this place is horrible. The staff is completely rude. They are a perfect embodiment of the stereotypical Chinese people that you want to avoid at all cost.

Very clean hostel with great facilities and nice staff. Not social at all really, lots of families and older travellers. The breakfast is nice but the portions are limited. Convenient from the train. But expensive for what it is I think.

The location of hostel is close to the main train station in Taipei, there are a lot of homeless in the area, and there is construction on-going right next to the hostel, but overall the location is convenient. Overall, the facility itself is clean & the water is hot (5 stars). The front desk was rather non-professional or I should say not friendly when I checked in. There was a woman inquiry information in the front desk for the hostel but the staff just cold shrug on her saying you should jus...

Top tier facilities, it’s like a hotel. My only knock is it’s not very social at all. I saw families and people there just for work. It was immacualtely clean and amazing facilities, so I’m very grateful for that + awesome free breakfast. Just don’t expect a social hostel.

Good places to stay for a few nights if you need a places to rest your head in Taipei. More suited for families or those travelers who value peace and quite. If you are a typical backpacker or looking to make connections while traveling it can be hard to do that here.

The most clean and convenient I ever stayed at. There are sockets next to the bed in which you can plug uk/ Europe plugs without having to use your room card so you can leave things on charge when out of the room. There are lockers in the room locking with the room card so it is really safe. There is a place to hang your shower towel above the beds.. the shower area is also great with cubicles allowing space to change. Common area also clean and quiet. Great breakfast, changes every day!

This is the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed at in any country. It truly feels like a 5-star hotel and the FREE breakfast is gourmet restaurant quality. Wonderfully attentive and kind staff, comfortable beds and common areas, and extremely clean facilities.

Fantastic location, just a few steps from the main train station which is perfect with luggage. The hostel isn't cheap (Taiwan prices) but it is super clean and comfortable. You must remove out door shows at reception and proceed with slippers inside. We had a private room and dorms are available. Our room was extremely clean and the bed, pillows and linen amazing! Bathroom and toilet, again super clean and modern. There is an excellent breakfast available, with vegetarian option on request.

One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in. Loved the lockers inside the rooms that are unlocked with your room keycard, so you don't have to supply your own lock. Genius. More hostels should do this. The common area is super nice and chilled. The iced tea provided in the kitchen was a plus. And I really enjoyed the free walking tour. Last but not least, the (included) breakfast each morning is genuinely decent. Good variety, and a really nice way to meet and catch up with fellow travel...

Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Great location with easy access to MRT. Friendly staff and clean, nice rooms. We only ate breakfast in the hostel one morning, but it was a big serving and tasty. Highly recommend staying here!

This was my second time for staying here, and this place is still the best hostel for me. Excellent staff, this time we came in family group, one of kid is allergic to nuts, so I ask the staff about the composition of breakfast multigrains bread. One of the staff wasn’t sure, so he checked from recipe and ingredient sheets, Finally there were almonds contained. He made new white bread for her. So appreciated and thanks a lot, so I didn’t inject Adrenaline for her.

I had an amazing stay here and would definitely love to come back again! It's in a great location, just a few minutes' walk from Taipei main station and the underground mall! The facilities are clean, and the bed is comfortable, with a curtain that keeps you private! The atmosphere is good, and the people and staff are nice. And the breakfast is delicious!

Really good hostel, highly recommend to anyone staying in Taipei. Quite social and the place has activities each day to meet other travellers. You can also just stick to yourself and there is plenty of space to relax and chill out. Everything about the place is amazing. The breakfast is perfect, the staff are lovely and the location is ideal. Only thing we struggled with was the hostel etiquette of those in our room, maybe it’s worth giving something to guests at check in to remind them to be considerate late at night in the rooms. Apart from that can’t fault this place, can’t wait to come again!

One of the best hostels I've ever been too. Beautiful decor in the lounge, clean, really good breakfast, brilliant private bed spaces in the dorms with curtains, lockers are big enough to fit in laptops and small suitcases. Would 100% stay here again.

Truly one of the nicest hostels I have stayed at. Comfortable private bunks, great amenities, so clean, convenient location, friendly staff, lovely common area and delicious free breakfast also a plus!

Such a clean, safe and secure hostel! Loved that we had a shoe area where we changed into slippers before heading into the living spaces. The shared space was really nice and clean as well. The dorms were simple, comfortable and had nice sized lockers that fit both my carry on and laptop backpack. A short walk to the train station. Would definitely stay again!
