Some people don't have the right expectations.

Beautiful place to stay, beach front property. Staff were very friendly and accommodated our late check in. Very chilled atmosphere. Rated security low as my bedroom did not lock and we were not given keys for the rooms at any point, not ideal for female travellers.

Probably the homeliest hostel I’ve ever been in. Anna the host was very friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and quiet, the downstairs was like someone’s house: varnished wooden floors, kitchen pantries, nice toilets through the cosy lounge, spacious green outside area. Small enough that it was easy to chat with other travellers. Well done Anna, with the care you put into it, expect this hostel will continue for another 20 years!

It was a lovely place!! Felt like home

Hands down one of the best places I’ve stayed. Such incredible facilities, could’ve easily stayed there for a longer period! Owners were also absolutely delightful!

I only stayed there one night, but my only regret is not having spent more time. The house is really nice, with a lovely kitchen and a terrace perfect for relaxing. I absolutely recommend it; everything is lovely ;)

Das Zuhause von Anna, Blaine und Molly ist mit unter einer der schönsten Unterkünfte auf der Nordinsel. Es ist ein Zuhause mit ganz wunderbaren Menschen in einer Atmosphäre die schöner nicht sein könnte . Der Strand vor der Haustür der wunderschöne Garten mit heimischen Vögeln , die BBQ Möglichkeit mit langer Tafel für Gemeinsame Stunden unter den Weinreben, eine sehr gut gewählte Musikplaylist am Abend. Die Surfstrände um liegend . Neuseeland pure in seiner einzigartigen Schönhei...

I just stayed one night, but if I could do more I would! It felt more like a home instead of a hostel. The decoration was beautiful and all facilities were absolutely clean. The owners were caring and lovely. The location is directly on the beach front and there is a parking area.

Super schönes Hostel direkt am Strand! Nettes Personal und saubere Zimmer, Küche und Bad! Günstiger Surf Board Verleih und tolle Atmosphäre!

A really nice place to stay. Very comfortable, really well organised, clean and tidy. Nice people. Nice exchanges with other visitors around the outside table and kitchen. I would definitely go back and will recommend this place to my family and friends. Thank you!

We stayed for just 2 days but it was easily the best hostel I've stayed so far! It's lovely owner enjoys chatting with you while her cute dog runs around and collects cuddles from whom she seems worthy. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are all very clean and modern. It has free WiFi and everything youll need to enjoy the evenings. All while having the flair of the 19th century building that it is. Sadly while we stayed there were no big waves so I can't comment on the surfboard hire. 1...

Great hostel, very friendly owner and crew, nice location, beach on otherside of the road, very familiar atmosphere, perfectly clean, all Facility that is neaded including BBQ, nice garden, surfboards to rent incl. wetsuit, have very nice private rooms and a 4 bed dorm. I extended my stay spontaneous. Would defenetly come back again and recommend to everyone. Thx for a great stay!!!

Amazing place

I had a great time in this hostel. The owners are very friendly, the place is very cosy and tidy, a few meters away from the beach, and conveniently located to enjoy Cape Reinga and the 90 mile beach

This was one of the best hostels we ever stayed in! The hosts were very nice and helpful. The house and surroundings are very beautiful.
