This is a bad hostel. The wifi never really wirkes when I was here. They are supposed to be environmentally focused but they do not offer free drinking water and ask you to buy plastic bottles which are terrible for the environment. They have a sign at breakfast that you are only allowed one bouled egg, two slices if bread, and a yoghurt. There are no fruits or anything else. Other hostels offer the same treks/activities for 20 to 40 soles less. They significantly overcharge.
I have had a bad experience this hostel. Toilets full of s***, no working internet and cold showers. They have power plugs that are not working and are even braking your charger (WATCH OUT)! I told the hostel about the power plugs and that it broke my charger, they said I should have asked first before charging my phone.. apart from all this, there is no nice atmosphere.
Unreliable wifi, very loud music throughout the day into the night, poor breakfast, kitchen actually locked between 9pm and 6am, shaky bunk beds, no comfortable place to hang out if coming from a night bus, cleaners starting to clean rooms at 8am and waking people with opening curtains, even though check out is 12. Not enough hooks or storage space in the rooms other than the floor, no shelves to put toiletries in bathrooms.
Loud music in the evening No Rest No Lights in bedroom Dirty pillows on the rooftop
BED BUGS! We did get an immediate refund which was appreciated but no one seemed very surprised when we mentioned the bed bugs!!
I don’t understand the reviews here. We had a negative experience; rude staff to people waiting at reception, bathrooms that needed to be cleaned, and dirty sheets. I recommend people to avoid this hostel.
I’m not usually someone to write a negative review, but I’ve had the most horrible experience at econunay. The night time staff is so rude and inconsiderate. I went to the reception at night to ask for very little when I was really sick from food poisoning (water and a bucket). The guy wasn’t helpful whatsoever and even rudely told me to go clean the bathroom (which was clean 🤦🏼♀️) as I stood in front of him shaking hardly able to keep standing. When I told him how impolite an...
Hostel was fine but there were a few issues. The showers were cold and breakfast was very basic (bread, boiled egg, sugary yoghurt & cereal and instant coffee, with no milk available). When I asked the staff for information about visiting Colca Canyon independently, they were not very helpful and only seemed familiar with the tour offered by the hostel. They weren’t even able to provide general guidance about local transport there, so I had to figure everything out myself.
El desayuno es muy malo comparado con otros Hostels y te dan muy poco tiempo para usar una cocina pequeñita. Lo bueno es el yoga y la cama con cortinas.
Especially the bathrooms need cleaning, many showers didn't work and charging facilities were one USB plug. Overall okay, but I wouldn't recommend it to friends

Nice hostel, had a kitchen but oven was broken. Breakfast wasn’t great. Bar was expensive and got overcharged for stuff we didn’t get. Toilet roll often empty but beds were very nice and the rooftop was lovely. Location excellent and the balcony’s by the rooms are also nice.
Nice property in a beautiful building. Staff on reception could be a little more friendlier.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend :) the rooms were very comfortable and clean and the staff were always helpful.
Best Hostel we've been so far in South America. The common area and the backyard are great. Very quiet at night. We stayed here for a week and met a lot of nice people. The owner, Manuel is great!! :)
Really nice hostel to stay in Arequipa. Comfortable beds with curtains but showers not always hot. Bathrooms mostly clean - did have a few issues with water spillage but nothing major. Nice to have a kitchen to cook own food in. Friendly people and nice staff, although sometimes seemed a tiny bit disorganised. Included breakfast was appreciated!
Overall,.this was a great hostel. I ended up staying five nights (one extra because I had food poisoning) and the staff was so nice. I was able to meet a lot of people in the back garden where they have a small bar at night. However, it was very quiet and easy to get a good night's sleep. The beds were comfortable. There was one day there was no hot water when I took my shower, but we got a text later that they had to do some emergency repairs and hot water was restored. My only complaint ...
i had a lovely time at Econunay! everyone was super friendly, travelers and staff. there were plenty of social activities to take part in which were a super fun time. the bathrooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfy.
Great hostel and good breakfast, rooftop is good and helped organise the colca canyon tour for me
Great hostel at a good price. Wish I’d been around longer to enjoy the vibes and activities
just a solid hostel
I really loved my stay at this hostel I even extended. The staff is super adorable, it's run by a family and you can easily feel like home. The breakfast is great. It's clean. The rooftop and the patio are very nice. And they offer activities every night to socialise and even free yoga classes ! thanks for everything :)
I loved this place. The beds are so comfy and they have curtains. The breakfast and cleaning staff are top tier! So nice and friendly. I liked the free breakfast, also the free yoga on the rooftop was amazing. Lots of common areas to hang out. Location is really good too! And the old building is just stunning! The kitchen is small but there’s everything you need for cooking and it’s kept very clean. 100% recommend this place!
We stayed in a private room and it was really clean and comfortable. Great location and nice building.

We stayed in a private room. It was during the rainy season and there weren’t many people around. We missed the social vibe, besides it’s a nice hostel in a great location.
Really nice atmosphere at Econunay ! The staff is really friendly and helpful. I recommend !
Great hostel for staying in Arequipa. Quite quiet but it is the rainy season. Location was perfect for exploring. Nice bedrooms. Jane was fantastic at helping organise our trip to the Colca Canyon
