I'm forced to jot down this review at ~1 AM instead of being able to enjoy the Zostel "Plus" property. I'm unable to enjoy with peace the beautiful property: 1. The staff doesn’t prevent people from singing on mics / playing music on loud speakers, even till 2 AM. 2. I booked a private room & people are sitting all around talking aloud - I can hear them, they can hear me too - no privacy. 3. People have parked vehicles in front of my window. So, the view that I paid for is blocked by guest ca...

Beautiful location, complete bliss. Pool has seemingly been out of operation since covid times and it does not look like that will be changing anytime soon. The cafe is your only source of food unless you manage to get a rickshaw to deliver up the mountain. Due to this food situation, the cafe knows they can get away with serving sub-standard food at an overly inflated cost and which is perhaps a disgrace to Indian cuisine. This is definitely not aided by the laughable service: took 30 minutes...

Amazing, just the restaurant is not that good and play loud music which is interrupting… but the location is so beautiful!!! And the staff are so helpful!!

It's a nice hostel in a scenic location. It is very remote, one has to keep this in mind while booking. There is a restaurant that serves decent food. If you want to explore the area you would either need to rent a bike or take tuk tuks to go places, negotiating prices there seems a bit of a hassle. I met nice people while being there but I thought that staff could be a bit more friendly and engaging. If you want to do the Chembra peak trek, be aware, as a foreigner, that you have to pay double.

Great experience. I was there for a weekend gateway. Great crowd, Great ambiance, 360 degree scenic views. Our host Anvi hosted some Great party night and game night. All in all, Great hostel with an awesome social setup. Highly recommended

It was a beautiful stay at an amazing view point location. Wish they had more food options.

Its a plus property and has amazing view. Located in a 300 acre private tea plantation and becomes little difficult to travel too after sunset. Hostel has a great vibe and lot of fun activities. Met some amazing people here with whom continued rest of the trip. Anjali was a great host and did make sure to include everyone and gave best suggestions on places.

It's a former colonial hospital in 800 acres of tea plantations, what's not to love? Beautiful views and grounds, lots of activities and communal areas, helpful staff, felt safe, tasty restaurant, spacious rooms, comfy beds, individual lights, large lockers, campfire singalongs, extremely friendly vibe, great for solo travellers. Improvements: please add hooks in the bathroom! There's nowhere to hang your towel, dry clothes, old clothes, toiletries... Add shelves and curtains to the bunks...

The location is probably the highlight of the place. Certainly well maintained and clean too. Nestled on top of a mountain, one can spend at least 3 to 4 days without having to go anywhere else it is that peaceful. Advice to Zostel team: Either change the cafe/ restaurant providers or change the management of the same. It was really disappointing to interact and experience the attitude of 'Viggy' cafe team. Either provide 24X7 cafe service or allow outside food!

Great hostel with the best possible mountainous seclusion. The property is in the middle of a tea plantation, and obviously that makes it a bit harder to reach from nearby town. But totally worth it, and you can always call a cab or auto to the property if needed.
