Assava Dive Resort

It was absolutely terrible! We stayed here for four nights and didn't sleep a wink. The beds are so hard, you wouldn't even let your dog sleep on them. The photos show beach loungers, but there are none to be seen. A nice photo of a pool, but in reality, you can't lie down at it because of the divers. In short, I would book a different place.

Vi var på samma hostel en gång innan och då var vi mycket mer nöjda. Denna gången var det stopp i ena duschen så hela det badrummet gick inte att använda. Det var råttor inne på rummet. Vi sa till men dom gjorde knappt något åt det tyvärr.

Didn't enjoy my stay here but it was the only affordable accomodation I could find when I booked. Felt super weird being there when I wasn't diving and those groups felt quite clicky. I'm not sure why this place is listed as a hostel because it definitely didn't feel like one. I didn't find it to be social at all. Definitely don't stay here as a solo traveler if you're not diving - you won't meet anyone.

Possible to find better accommodation for less or same price. The beds are very uncomfortable. Even with plenty of free dorms they filled the other first putting ppl more together rather than leave us comfortable which I didn't like at all. The location is lovely thou, right in front of the beach and near Freedom beach from where is possible to see the sunset.

Der sechser Schlafsaal hatte kein Fenster, es war mittelmäßig bis nicht sauber und die Toilette hat gestunken. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend!

Not really a hostel, no facilities. Just a dorm room with en-suite and lockers. Would have benefited from tea/coffee, more drying racks, non plastic covered mattresses, and a fix to the trip hazard outside the door! However location and price were good. And Koh Tao is a must visit for snorkelling.

Très bien situé, spot paradisiaque proche de free beach to shark bay pour faire du snorkeling (possibilité de louer des masques et tubas) au centre de plongée. Par contre, les matelas etaient tres inconfortables, la chambre était vétuste (à la limite de l'insalubrité) et n'était clairement pas propre (moisissures sur les rideaux par exemple) et le ménage n'a pas été fait pendant notre séjour de deux nuits.

Lovely location (amazing beach restaurants and bars) but the plank-hard beds were tough. The blankets were also extremely strongly scented to the point of giving me a headache.

nice clean and comfy rooms but the fuse box kept sparking and we lost power multiple times outside of reception hours. not the most sociable place to stay but a good place to chill for a couple days. had a christmas day dive which was easily organised.

This place is fantastic, beautiful resort with good air con, pool, beachfront, and in a much more chill/laid back area compared to Sairee beach. Highly recommend for Koh Tao as long as you’re not an 18-year old seeking constant party. In that case go to Sairee beach

Lovely beach side resort if you’re looking for a quieter stay. Discounts if you dive with the property. On site restaurant serving great food. Close to Shark Bay and Ao Leuk snorkel spots. Only downside was the beds in the dorms were uncomfortable and made lots of noise.

very nice . clean and far

Beautifully located hostel, right at the sea side. Nice staff in the reception, very secure rooms, accessed only using electronic ID card. Beds were clean and comfortable, same as bathrooms. Dorm is a part of a bigger complex, where you can also do diving courses.

I had a great stay here, the outside area is amazing to relax and i really liked the location - but you def need a scooter to get around. I had a bunk to myself, otherwise the beds would've been a bit shaky. The bathroom was clean and the shower hot with good water pressure.

Chambre niquel et propre, lit très confortable, emplacement génial directement sur la mer, petit filet et hamac pour se poser au dessus de la plage et proche de shark bay, freedom beach ect ect

Man braucht auf jeden Fall einen Scooter, um dorthin zu kommen, um dann auch entspannt auf der Insel herumfahren zu können. Andererseits fahren die zweimal kostenlos pro Tag zum Resort und zum Hafen. Das größte Manko waren die Betten, die leider nicht sehr angenehm waren, aber noch okay. Das Ganze ist an einem Ressort angeschlossen, so dass es einen schönen Pool gibt. Es fühlt sich aber nicht wirklich wie ein Hostel an, weil es keine exklusiven Hostel-Aufenthaltsbereich, also eher ruhig.

Great, no issues. Not the most social of hostels, but I knew that going in. Lovely resort and the seafront of it was stunning and you could eat dinner to the sunset every night.

Felt like a luxurious resort, great for calm days and relax!

The resort is very nice. I only spent two nights in the dorm, I didn't dive with them. I wish the dorm's bathroom were cleaner, I saw how clean the public toilets were so I am sure they can do better in the dorm. I would have loved to shower with hot water, specially after diving. Overall it was a nice stay.
