Los Amigos Hostel

Very noisy room next to the bar - drunk people in my room. Showers average and the beds weren’t that comfortable particularly the pillows. I ended up using my travel pillow as well as the one given. People could smoke in the bar right outside my room so whenever the door opened I got a waft of smoke. Did the yoga which was nice but wouldn’t come back.

Expensive dorm, ours was located next to the front door so had to walk through the restaurant / bar (open to non hostel guests) to use the toilet and shower. Theres a club inside too which meant people were in and out the door and smoking outside our room (on a Sunday night). Also they closed the common area of the hostel with pool table and sofas, which is separate from the restaurant/bar at 9:30pm every night. So you have to either go to your bed or in the bar which we thought was unfair

The door doesn't even have a lock, it opens with a cord and anyone can open it. The dorm lockers don't even fit your backpack. I had a terrible experience with the people at the front desk. There was a 70 year old man in my dorm completely naked, and when I went to the front desk they told me that 'it was a mixed dorm, what did I expect?' and that they had no policy against it. I had to sleep really uncomfortably and felt unsafe. I would NEVER go back.

For this price I expected something completely different. The common area is really disappointing, they also shut everything down in the evening, so you have to go to the bar. Kind of a weird vibe, rooms were alright, wouldn't come back. Way too expensive for what it is.

Absolutely terrible hostel. 1. The beds have bed bugs 2. The pool is very unclean it is not maintained 3. They seize your passport and will not give it back until absurd amounts ( which by the way internationally is illegal ) 3. The staff are awful Beware they are big s******s they will say stupid rates like 15% card charge, and add expenses u never bought. He will be subpoenaed in the next 24hrs let’s hope he learns his lesson.

15% card transaction fee was a complete joke, didn’t have time to pull cash out but I certainly would have if this fee was advertised to me. No need ever to charge that much and felt that cash crab soured my stay

I don’t know what justifies the very high price. Although clean/comfortable/well-located, the staff were repeatedly unhelpful with basic information/requests and there was very little space for guests to interact given it is essentially a restaurant with rooms attached. Furthermore, the showers are within the restaurant with the rooms beyond at the back. The staff were unable/unwilling to advise on basic questions and there was very little atmosphere. Stay elsewhere and come for the boat party...

De dormbedden hebben geen gordijnen, lampje of stroompunt naast hun bed. Voor de douches en de wc’s moet je door het restaurant, niet heel chil. Je moet ook om 10 uur uitchecken (vrij vroeg) waarbij ze om half 10 al aan je deur komen om te controleren wie er allemaal weggaan. Voor een van de duurdere hostels op het eiland denk ik dat er nog wat werk aan de winkel is

Stayed here in the cheapest dorm, the glamping dorm. I would definitely recommend paying the extra to upgrade. The room opened up onto a restaurant seating area with customers mainly from outside the hostel. Have to go through the whole restaurant to access showers, toilets etc- strange atmosphere as a guest and surely for those trying to eat their dinner. The room did not have a lock either, nor did the door fully shut, making it not very safe as any restaurant guest could come into the room!

The staff was not friendly at all. Good beds with curtains. Not too much of a part vibe (which I liked).

Tolles Hostel! Sie bieten viele Aktivitäten an, wo man schnell mit anderen Reisenden ins Gespräch kommt. Trotzdem nicht laut nachts. Wenn mab keine Party machen will kann man dem also gut aus dem Weg gehen. Sehr schöne und grosse Anlage. Personal könnte freundlicher sein.

Such an awesome spot and pretty social! Really cute Garden aesthetic, dorm okay but definitely a fair Bit of Noise and be aware air con Kicks in only at 8pm!

Weird place. Almost like a restaurant that wanted to double as a hostel. If you’re unlucky and end up in the rooms by the reception, be ready for constant noise at all hours of the night. And your bathrooms and showers are by the restaurant, so you walk through it to take a shower. Very new bar, rooms are dilapidated, lockers falling apart. AC? set to 25° so basically nothing. Not a lot of options in Flores but def not great.

Honesly was the worst hostel of the trip and stayed in some rough ones, this is due to two main reasons. Firstly, it's a complete gamble if you are in one of the two dorms right beside reception, and if you are you are in for a rough time. It is blaringly loud ALL NIGHT, as soon as the thumping music ends at night you will hear people chatting loudly in reception for the rest of the night. Schönes, social Hostel mit einem tollen grünen Community-Bereich, Küche und einer tollen Lage. Man muss durch das Restaurant gehen um zu den Zimmern zu kommen, das Personal war immer super hilfsbereit und freundlich – und natürlich war auch abends immer Musik und Party (der man aber auch gut aus dem Weg gehen kann, wenn man keine Lust hat). Die angebotene Yoga-Class kann ich sehr empfehlen :-) Bad und Küche waren nicht super sauber, aber voll in Ordnung.

I had a great time in Los Amigos Hostel. Everything you needed was pretty much in the building itself, restaurant, bar, as well as their own travel agency which was very helpful and price efficient for my tikal tour as well as my early morning airport transfer. Would come here again. Only complaint was that there are not really locks on the dorm doors and that the lockers are very small so it feels a bit less secure, however they have a CCTV storage room so they make up for it.

Such a fun time at this place. This is the spot if you want to have fun and meet cool people.

Nice hostel in a good location. You can taxi share from the airport (I think this is the norm?) for ~25 quetzales. Ate there a couple of times, food was good. Also went on a tour to Tikal booked through the hostel, which was really cool. Rooms were pretty basic but have everything you need.

Didn’t think the fish being stuck in a concrete box was a nice feature. The hostel dog yaps in the morning and wakes you up. Tikal tours booked with the hostel was very good. Staff lovely. Food was good after a long day travelling. Hostel grounds and lounging area are lovely plus hot tub and pool table and kayak rental. Lovely place to stay !!

Een super fijn en gezellig hostel met super lieve mensen! Het was schoon, je kan er goed eten en de sunset boat tour is een dikke aanrader als je houdt van gezelligheid!

El hostel es bonito y la limpieza es buena. Con tapones para los oídos y ventilador pudimos dormir más o menos. La atención fue regular, al llegar nos intentaron vender tours o transporte y nos dieron a entender que solo de esa manera nos guardarían las mochilas unas horas después del check out. Los trabajadores de recepción estaban muy ocupados y era complicado preguntarles cualquier cosa. Creo que lo peor fue el restaurante, no nos gustó nada de lo que pedimos.

Really social hostel, and great location if you’re planning to stay in Flores Island. When my friend lost his phone the staff were not very kind or helpful which was disheartening. The bathrooms are also through the entire common area which is not great. The door to our dorm room didn’t close properly, and there are no curtains on the beds. However the beds were ok. Staff controlled AC in bedrooms and only put it on at night, meaning during the day it was much too hot and and night too ...

Cute place! Bathrooms and rooms were nice and clean - didn’t try the restaurant but the bar was cool. Not a super crazy party hostel but social enough which I liked. However it is quite expensive for the area. My main issue was the dorm doors are SO loud which kind of sucked given how many people do early (like 4-5am) excursions in Flores.

Good hostel but don’t think it’s worth how expensive it is!! Didn’t find it social and thought it was a bit dis jointed with the restaurant right in the middle. My room was clean and I had an en-suite which was great so didn’t have to brush my teeth in the restaurant. The tour agency was helpful but you don’t have to be staying there to use it.
