Yambolombia Hostel

I understand that this place is cheap and that it gives the hippie vibe. With that being said that doesn’t mean that it should be a dirty place dorms are gross dead bugs/trash on the ground everything was dirty PLUS the showers had OLD clumps of hair taken out of the drain with GUNCK on them put onto the wall as well as mold the kitchen had a t shirt WET on the ground for days the fridge was disgusting the amount of old/rotten food is beyond me pick another spot if I could give it 0 I would

I do not advise this place for female solo travelers. I stayed 2 nights and had a very uncomfortable encounter with the owner. The owner was very nice to all the guests, so I didn’t think much of his invitation to show me around. Turns out he had planned a picnic motorcycle getaway date, which I only realized when I had already said yes and felt like I could not get out of it anymore. I think he knew that I was a person who has difficulties saying no - and he arranged and played the situation...

Points positifs : staff très sympa et super bon petit déjeuner. Points négatifs: il fait très froid dans l’hostel, le wifi ne fonctionne pas, les chiens prennent beaucoup de place dans l’espace commun qui n’est pas énorme et causent de mauvaises odeurs.

Although the hostel is located in a nice calm area and have lovely dogs and a hourse, I would not recommend staying there, since they have bed bugs. After 4 nights I do have many bites and allergic rush on my legs. Had to go to a dermatologist and was prescribed with medicine to heal it. Hope you can do something to get rid of the bed bugs in your hostel.

Yambolombia verspricht viel - hält aber wenig. Die Unterkunft ist etwas abgelegen. Wir fragten per Whatsapp an, ob es eine Möglichkeit gibt dort zu essen (wie auf website angegeben. Leider haben wir keine Rückmeldung bekommen. Zum Glück haben uns nette Gäste zum Selberkochen eingeladen. Viel wird online angeboten, nichts ist verfügbar! - keine Fahrräder zum selber ausleihen - kein Restaurant, ausser Frühstück - Frühstück kosted mehr als angegeben - kein Wäscheservice Das ...

It's probably a nice place if you're travelling alone and want to meet other hikers/cyclists to hang out with and you have time to enjoy the big garden. The other guests seemed happy, so it seems fair to mention this. It was for sure not the best choice for us since we stayed just one night after visiting the coffee fincas and our priority was to rest and sleep. There were people chatting loudly and making noise in the kitchen next to the room until midnight and from 5 am in the morning and not ...

Nice staff and pretty cheap, but the private room wasn’t great. The shower was basically a hose and there were a huge amount of bugs in the room we had to douse ourselves in bug spray each night. Location is beautiful just a bit of a walk into town but not too bad.

El hostel está un poco alejado de Salento. Pero tiene el encanto de las cosas alternativas. No dispone del confort de lo urbano pero a cambio ofrece una vistas espectaculares y un espacio de encuentro estupendo. Gabriel atiende los desayunos con todo un conjunto de historias que contar. Recomendable.

Wenn du einen zauberhaften Ort in der Natur suchst, mit alternativer essenz :) dann bist du hier genau richtig .

Amazing hostel in the beautiful hills of Salento, great vibes, free coffee and tea all day, beautiful garden, the cutest dogs and horse and the friendliest people. We extended twice, thank you for this amazing stay!

Very calm place with a great atmosphere. The cosiness of the common spaces makes it very easy to get to know the other guests, which smoothly leads to a very familiar ambiance.

De locatie was super rustgevend en de sfeer in het huis voelde goed. De host was super verwelkomend en de kamers waren schoon. Super!

Yambolombia is a great hostel to explore Salento from. It is located on just a 20 minute walk from the city, making it a great place to relax in the middle of nature. There are multiple fincas on walking distance. The hosts are very nice and they helped us with anything we needed. Also great for solo travellers. I stayed for 5 nights, but could stay longer! Very much recommend this place.

I felt at home at Yambolombia. The views from the hostel were unbelievable, there were multiple spots to relax after a hike, it was nearby many coffee farms. The people I met here were all very friendly and nice. I ended up staying longer than planned. 12/10 !

This is a nice and peaceful place. Came super early in the morning and they showed me to my room even before checkin so I could sleep after a long travel. They are very kind and helpful, and I loved staying here! Wish I could have stayed here for longer!!

It's difficult for a hostel to feel like home, especially in a couple of days - but Yambolombia felt like home. So welcoming, lovely pets, amazing surroundings.

One of the best Hostels we have stayed at during our trip!! The owners are lovely and the Hostel gives off a real family vibe. There's only one big table in the living room to sit at, which gives you the opportunity to socialise with other people:) Free coffee and tea is nice as well. Only downside is the distance to Salento city centre (30-35 minutes by walking). especially if you arrive at night the road is quite dark.

J’ai adoré cet hostel, je me suis sentie comme à la maison. Le personnel est très gentil et le lieu est magnifique. Les lits sont confortables. L’un de mes hostels préférés ❤️

Gabriel made us feel so at home!! Loved this place, the dogs and the horse! Could not recommend enough. 20-30 min walk to the center. The yoga room was amazing!

Das beste Hostel, in dem ich je war. Gabrielle, der Besitzer und Gastgeber, schafft hier eine einzigartige Atmosphäre, mit seinen Hunden Rasta und Yambo und seinem Caballo. Fast alle, die ich im Hostel getroffen habe, haben ihren Aufenthalt verlängert. Nach Bogota brauchte ich einen Ort zum runterkommen und wohlfühlen, und habe diesen hier gefunden. Beautiful property up on the hill with cool funky facilities like a yoga studio and an outdoor area. Breakfast is delicious but it’s very expensive and not included in price sadly. Very kind staff/owners who are very welcoming. There is a hostel horse as well! The dorms are simple but clean. Nice spot to relax and be away from the business of town. About a 40 minute walk to the center of salento / the nearest grocery store etc

Mein absolutes Lieblingshostel! Etwas außerhalb der Stadt, mit wunderbarem Ausblick, zwei süßen Schäferhunden, einem Pferd und dem besten Gastgeber überhaupt! Wir sind auf unserer zweimonatigen Kolumbienreise extra nochmal nach Salento gereist, weil wir die Atmosphäre dieses Ortes einfach nochmal erleben mussten. Tolles Frühstück (20.000 COP, riesige Portionen, vegetarisch), immer gratis Kaffee und eine gut ausgestattete Küche! Danke Gabriel!
