The Bealey Quarter

As a solo traveler who is a female I have never felt so uncomfortable and unsafe in a hostel. I have stayed in around 25 hostels and never once had to leave. My room had multiple old (40+) year old men who had taken over the entire room and made it extremely uncomfortable when I wanted to enter the room. There is no social areas to escape to in this hostel unless an odd chair or sofa dotter around. Would not recommend. Staff were helpful when I wanted to leave.

Clinical and kinda soulless but perfectly clean and safe and nice

Was okay as far as hostels go. Don’t be fooled by the exterior it’s just a basic hostel on the inside. Clean and comfortable but still a 30 min walk from anywhere

8 person backpacker room was nice and I like how it was set up length wise, meant that everyone has their privacy and the beds arent all facing each other. big bathrooms with plenty of showers and toilets. Huge letdown is the kitchen. only one small kitchen with 8 working hob rings, 3 small fridges and limited seating for 60rooms! (private and backpackers). was a mission to cook dinner, even if you started early. and in the midst of it all, housekeeper was trying to clean the kitchen.

The room was okay, but the facilities are weird, there is no common space to share. The sofas are at the entrance..so no warm place to relax or stay cozy. The kitchen is also small. Bathrooms were very good! And the people who works there are very nice!

Die Küche war sehr dreckig und dauerhaft überfüllt. Eine kleine Küche für die Anzahl der Leute im Hostel ist sehr wenig. Am Empfang war das Personal nicht sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Parkplätze sind kostenlos in der Straße dahinter, wo man lange nach einem sucht. Ich war vor vielen Jahren schon einmal dort, da hat es mir echt super gefallen. Schade, dass es sich so geändert hat!

This place is quite expensive for what you get. No curtains in the rooms and only a small, cramped kikitchen considering how many people can stay here. Found it really hard to sleep in the top bunk. No labels provided for food in the kikitchen and my $11 steak was thrown in the bin after less than 12 hours being in the fridge. Really great pub on site 👍

L’hostel est correct avant de prendre l’avion ou après l’avoir pris mais je n’y resterai pas plusieurs nuits.. Bien trop bruyant

The kitchen was disgusting.

Don't really recommend. Hard to get into our dorm due to dysfunctional door, all 8 people struggling with staff suggesting "just push the door handle down". Dirty carpet, showers overflowing, no soap on day 1 and large groups of high school boys playing very loud music.

Love staying here. Staff are amazing and facilities are great with easy walking to central city and buses

Beds are weird format and super creeky. Bathroom and kitchen are good. Far away from town tho.

Perfect for our one night away from home

The layout was intriguing- like a rabbit warren but ideal for my stay. Ed’s and facilities great. I had a lost property issue and staff v helpful.

Decent and affordable stay

Hab 3 Nächte dort verbracht und war was die Zimmer anging echt zufrieden… blöd war nur, dass die Küche echt dreckig und klein war für die Anzahl der Gäste, welche sich auch irgendwie dachten die müssten ihr Geschirr nicht selbst abwaschen (schade, aber nicht die Schuld des hostels) Badezimmer waren top, Betten auch, Lage war so nh halbe Stunde Fußweg von Zentrum also noch okay 👌🏼 würde wieder hin weils halt auch das günstigste ist in Christchurch

Cheap place to overnight. Difficult to park at and a long way from the airport, but relatively clean. A wee bit loud though in terms of the other people there.

the toilets at the ladies room should be cleaner. The toilets seats were also damaged. The kitchen was also missing more sharp knifes to cook with.

Good organized hostel, clean room and well equipped kitchen, common area is missing. Rooms are efficient but not much space to spend there time except for sleeping. You have to walk for around 30 mins to reach the city.

The hostel is a bit more like a motel than a hostel. No community space and no atmosphere at all. Also they have a "dry hostel" policy which is not made clear at time of booking, so if you want to have a beer you either have to drink in your room or go to the bar next door! (Also owned by the same company....). The hostel is comfortable and clean and the staff are friendly, just don't go here expecting to be social....

Ressemble plus à un hôtel qu’à une auberge. Très agréable Les dortoirs de 8 sont en longs ce qui donne une impression t’intimité Tout est très propre Un frigo par chambre pour ranger sa nourriture
