unfortuntaely the main concern with this property was the staff themselves. they were SCREAMING all night...playing loud music...inviting their friends to party in the lobby all night with complete disregard for their guests. horrible experience.

He viajado en medio mundo y no recuerdo habitación más angustiosa de la de Mama Wady. La habitación doble, sin ventana, olía muy mal debido a la gran humedad que había. Sin aire acondicionado encendido era complicado hasta respirar durante la noche. El aire acondicionado era muy muy antiguo y hacia un ruido criminal. Dormir al lado del motor de un avión hubiera sido más placentero. Muy caro para lo que es. No lo recomiendo

The only good thing about this hostel was the location. AVOID booking it!!!! The room was one of the worst rooms I have ever been, smelled mold and humidity so much you couldn’t breath without air conditioning, we stayed 5 nights they didn’t clean our room not even once, no fresh air, mattress really old and bad, no hot water( although that was not a problem with so much heat), one day no water at all. Also you couldn’t meet any people, the vibe of the hostel was really bad.

The sockets didn’t work w/o well could t charge our devices. They also charged us twice for our last night and gave us a completely illogical reason. We paid our stay by card but they wouldn’t allow us to pay for the second payment by card, they insisted that we paid cash which validated that we got scammed

Location is the best thing about this hostel, its very close to bars and restaurants in Getsemani and a quick walk to the historic town. Facilities aren't great, e.g. no forks in the kitchen, no water in the hot tub, quite dirty. Found it difficult to get information about what to do in Cartagena. Felt expensive for what it was, but think that's normal for Cartagena!

DO NOT STAY HERE! When I was looking at hostels for Cartagena, I came across Casa Mama Waldy and was happy to see that the vast majority of their reviews are positive. There are/were a few negative ones but I figured the positive reviews outweighed the negative, so why not. My experience at this hostel has been horrible. Had to vote low for all items as there is no option to vote the costumer service from upper management. We were out of electricity (AC) in a room with no window (hence no breathable air), deadly for the city's humid and hot weather . We asked to be moved to a room with a window the coming morning. Since without electricity nor wifi, we were made to wait there for the room, assured was blocked for us. At the time of checking in, suddenly "the system" had it booked elsewhere! Waste! Unser Zimmer war sehr stickig und feucht. An der Decke ging sogar etwas Schimmel. Außerdem wurde bis 3 Uhr nachts laute Musik mit dröhnendem Bass gespielt, weshalb Schlaf unmöglich war.

Ratten in der Nacht, die im Gebälk kratzen. Zimmer ohne Fenster. Lage unschlagbar.

Security needs attention. The main doors are often left open, with loud people sitting on the steps late into the night/early morning. Our room lock only worked if jimmied a certain way, and the AC above the bed dripped all night. Some kitchen appliances, like the toaster, were missing. The rooftop is largely under renovation with debris everywhere, and the bar is not operational, which wasn’t advertised. Lovely young receptionist, and we appreciated the compensation, but issues remain.

Dorm beds had to privacy curtains, bathroom wasn’t the cleanest, and had some issues with laundry. However, really good location - did the job.

la terrasse était sympathique, c'est très tranquille, il ne se passe pas grand chose, les toilettes de notre chambre n'étaient pas très propre mais le lit était confortable, un peu overpriced pour ce que c'était, mais tout est overpriced à Cartagène!

Établissement très bien situé dans le centre de Carthagène avec des petits dortoirs de 4. Parfait pour y passer le week-end.

Incredible hostel, every member of stuff suuuuper friendly and helpful. Clean and has everything you need! Felt very "home" vibes. Great location, reasonable price. I was sad to leave such a warm, comfortable place. Highly recommend ✨️

Ideal spot for a hostel, just up the road from the main square in Getsemani.

super séjour qui a mal début notre lit était cassé on a changé de chambre mieux, clim superbe emplacement rien à dire parfait, mais trop de nuit la nuit mal isolé musique trop forte

Usually I don' leave bad reviews but I am travelling since one month in Colombia and never had a bad experience in hostels...the staff was nice apart of one girl, really super rude! She entered twice in my room without even knock at the door... And she turn off the air conditioning in the room without even ask. The temperature was over the 30 degrees... During the night I had to go to the reception asking for the air conditioning at 2 am because I couldn't sleep for the heat. Also the same girl ...

Nice hostel in a very good location in getsemani. Helpful staff. 4 bed dorm had air conditioning, good in cartagena's heat. Free coffee and tea available all the time. Upstairs bar looks pretty tired but there's plenty of places to go in town.

Great location, and the room was pretty clean. Very laid-back atmosphere which is great for travellers who are looking to explore the city in the morning and relax at night.

Great stay at Casa Mama Waldy, my 3 friends and I got a dorm room all to ourselves with A/C and a bathroom/shower. Very chill atmosphere, great location, and comfy beds. Will definitely stay here again :)

Great location Decent value Staff not massively friendly No free water We had a private room, but it had no window. It had a floor mounted AC machine, but the warm air being extracted from it came straight back into the room through big gaps round the door so the AC was pretty pointless. Therefore if was a dark and stuffy room.

Great place to stay in Cartagena!

Nice, very quiet hostel. Clean, nice staff and great location. The hostel is small if you're hoping for a social place this isn't it. However its location is great to get out there and emerge in the Colombian night scene and come back to a quiet peaceful place to sleep.

A great hostel in Getsemaní with a nice rooftop bar.

Pro: location, free coffee or tea, decent kitchen. Affordable prices (15$) Great a/c del 6pm to 10. Cons: no key room was giving to me which makes me think that everyome can enter the room.
