Hostel Villa Skansi

Pro: free pizza that’s delicious at night Cons: they don’t replace soap in bathrooms, the towels they give are thin rags, there are no hooks in the rooms, and the drawers and curtains are all either broken or about to be. they also only accept cash as payment. i’d spend my money on an air bnb instead, this place seems like it’s on the decline / not putting in effort to keep up whatever it used to do to get such good reviews

Plutôt cher pour ce que c'est… une seule toilette pour une chambre de 12 personnes. La porte des chambres est toujours débarrée vu le nombre de personnes qui fréquentent l’hostel. La propreté laisse vachement à désirer. Pour les personnes qui souhaitent un hostel plus tranquille et bien dormir, je ne recommande pas.

There was no AC in the room even though this was a main feature of the rooms, given it was 32 degrees and the room had 13 other people in the room this was less than pleasurable. After this was raised with the staff multiple times on the second night after it was raised the staff produced some fans which didn’t really do much, this was after the staff accused the people in the room of breaking the AC. claims unlimited pizza from 8 to 9:30, if it’s busy this is actually pretty limited.

Absolutely awful - the staff were so rude, no air con in the depths of summer and over charged!

If you're lucky and you get a new room, maybe you can be fine. We got an old room that has nothing to do with the photos shown. the beds are uncomfortable, the air conditioning does not work well. the bathrooms are very few for the number of guests. The good thing about the hostel is the free pizza and the staff is always very cool.

We were very disappointed by arrival. The 14 bedrooms were an absolute mess. 1 shower in the room which was not even working properly and made a lot of noice. Needed to pay everything with cash, total price of staying, the bar, everything. They don’t really care if you need to pay taxes on them or not. Our room was next to the bar which made your belongings feel very unsafe. Everyone gets a key to your own dorm but the door never really gets locked so everyone can just walk in. Would never ...

Decent hostel. Good staff but poor management. Rented Scooters at the hostel. In my opinion not safe for traffic, no speedometers or lights.

It’s a good place to meet people. Also the location of the hostel is perfect. BUT, beware if you sleep in a 6 person dorm. This was a room made in an dirty old kitchen. It smelled really bad (at the end of my stay all my clothes smelled like it). The smell felt very unhealthy. Also the showers were always cold, no chargers near your bed. In the description they warn about the rooms who are not yet renovated, but they should add some realistic pictures!

Not worth your money. It was expensive for what it was. They make you pay cash when you arrive which is very inconvenient because of ATM fees. The bedrooms were messy and did not have chargers by the bed. There were not enough bathrooms. I stayed in a 14 bed dorm and there were only 2 toilets and 1 shower. The bathrooms were gross and not clean. The common areas were ok. Overall, just too much money for what it is. Only positive is that the girls at the front desk were nice & helpful.

This hostel has so much potential, but failed so badly. They only take cash (which is really ridiculous in 2025). My locker/drawer wouldn’t close, the bathroom flooded, the AC was leaking, a friend’s locker door fell off and they made us wait for free pizza and weren’t able to make them because the oven wouldn’t work. Hostel perfeito para uma estadia em Hvar com muita diversão!

This hostel is probably one of the most social I have ever stayed in, with lots of young people and activities every night, which is great if that is what you are looking for. The room was ok, nothing special. Bathrooms are shared between the whole hostel, so they were often wet and a bit dirty. The location is very good and you can reach many places by walking.

Pros: Great location and beautiful shared patio overlooking the water. The pizzas at night are huge, delicious, and free. Location is perfectly situated to walk to Hvar town. Staff was friendly and fun for the free bar crawl Cons: Bathroom was stinky and not great drainage in the showers. Hostel does not really organize any games or “get to know you” activities. Socializing is a little hard to do even though it’s a bigger hostel

Unreal patio with free pizza every night

Dorm 1 door handle is hanging off and broken so anyone can enter, no air con or extractor fan so it smells really damp. The reception made me pay extra to change to a new room. Bathrooms were not very nice. Not sure how the other reviews are so high which is the reason I booked it tbh.

Gorgeous hostel with a great view, friendly staff, very clean, free pizza and pubcrawl, also the best cocktails. They helped me with all my questions at the reception and got a perfect laundry service. Best experience ever!

I loved it here. The staff are all super friendly, the place is indeed very clean. The free pizzas were amazing, very delicious. The hostel is sizable, and I've met some very cool people. Best hostel experience I've ever had to be honest. 10/10 would recommend

Best hostel i ever stayed in! They offer free pizza, free shots and free bar crawl! Also they have big terrace with wonderful view. Very easy to bond with people in here, staff is very friendly and easygoing, young people working there. 10/10 loved it.

This was honestly the best hostel I have stayed in! The entire staff is extremely nice and very accommodating. The hostel is clean and as advertised. They also have a great atmosphere at night in the bar area where people can socialize, drink, and eat free pizza. Probably the best location in town to top it all off! Highly recommend!

Brilliant hostel for young travellers. Super clean, staff are friendly, solved our problems with washing etc. The only thing generally lacking was the pub crawls destinations, there needs to be more or a variety here.

The rooms are okay and, the beds are fairly solid and nice curtains. However the rooms do not lock which is a concern and check in and the bar are cash only.

Property is in dire need of maintenance and some hooks within the rooms and bathrooms wouldn't go astray. Location/Price though is good
