There was black mold on both the ceiling and floor tiles of the shower (room 206). When the shower was on, specks of black mold from the tiles would wash down past the feet and into the drain. It had obviously not been cleaned in a while as the mold had begun creeping into the sink area. When I informed the management of the health risk and asked for another room, I was told (verbatim), "A single room is more comfortable. You can pay for that." When I told them it was a dangerous health risk, they asked (again verbatim), "And what do you expect us to do about that? This is what you paid for." I told them cleanliness and her price I paid have nothing to do with having a safe facility. Negotiating getting another cleaner room required me looking up the German Ministry of Health and making calls in front of them before they agreed to change. My room key would deactivate at least three times per day, requiring going down to the reception each time for them to reactivate it. During one of those trips, the guest ahead of me in line was demanding another room because he had found 6 bed bugs in his bed and another 3 in his girlfriend's. This was AFTER they had already changed rooms because of another issue. The facility is inaccurately depicted in the picture. It's been photoshopped to make the facility look attractive and not what it actually is: a repurposed former office building with nothing more than a mediocre paint job a sign that says "hostel".

Sleeping there is a challenge, I tried them 2 times, the first time I booked is a double room and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable (the mattress springs were almost out) and the room was boiling. The second time I booked Superior single room (studio) and I ended up sleeping in the car due to bed bugs. At first I thought that I am having mosquito bites so I covered my body fully with the blanket…… this did not help and I was still feeling that something is wrong…… Long story short, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST (even the staff are not friendly).

I had a terrible experience at this hostel. We booked a non-smoking room, but it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. There were no screens on the windows, so bugs flew in when we tried to ventilate the room. When we asked to switch rooms, they only offered one without a private bathroom, which we didn't want. Just as we were about to sleep, a bedbug fell on my face. The reception was closed, and there was no 24-hour hotline to help us. We felt trapped in a dangerous area at night, so we had to book another hotel. In the morning, we requested a refund. The staff said to contact Booking to process it. We did, but they later lied, claiming they hadn’t received any messages. Booking revealed that the hostel denied our refund, even with photos of the bedbugs as proof. I'm convinced all those 5-star reviews are fake! This place was a nightmare. Avoid it at all costs!

Extreme, never agan ! 00:00 waked up by white guy without hairs... totaly drunked, smoking on toilet in no smoking room. 3:00 waked up by same guy doing diner with light on ! Total mess and disgusting room with insect evrywhere ! Look on photos ! I found here ,,bed bug" first and last time here. Owner here have only trash people. And for parking they will charge you extra 2,5Euro you give them 3 and they thinking it will be tip and do not want give you back money. Worst experience on booking in last 5 years. Good job,pls close this and call hygiene ! Look on photos !

Before looking for faults, remember how much you paid for this hostel. I believe that for this money, quite acceptable conditions are created. If you need comfortable conditions and are not willing to compromise on price/quality, look for options 5-10 times more expensive, then you may be satisfied.
