Great location....hostel facilities are reasonable....not exactly plush. Only downside was i felt somewhat duped by the management in the hostel as i found out i was being charged more than double the price for the same standard bed that others in my dorm were staying....apparently management said some hostel websites charge different prices for the same standard bed in the same dormitory! Yes the same bed is on sale at different prices on different websites! And im talking double the price!

En faisant un petit road trip d’Edinburgh à Londres je me suis arrêté une nuit à Newcastle Upon Tyne, je suis vraiment déçu. L’hostel était vraiment pas agréable je suis arrivé très tôt vers 16 h il y avait déjà des gens complètement saoul et defoncé à la beuh dans mon dortoir. Comme souvent dans ce genre de situation il y’a pas grand chose à faire… Comme l’impression qu’ils vivent dans ce dortoir toute n’année pendant la nuit ils sont rentrés vers 3 h en faisant...

It's a decent enough hostel; good location, nice clean sheets. Other than that, it is quite old school and underloved. Bathrooms were looking very tired - our floor only had three showers, one of which was broken, another had no temperature control and was scalding hot. Two toilets, one blocked. No USB sockets and sockets miles from the bed The bedrooms were excessively hot, and the window opening mechanism was broken, so no way of getting fresh air in.

Staff were great, the bathrooms were not clean and the toilets don’t flush properly. Also kids were running around the hostel the last night I stayed there and you could feel the building shake

Unpleasant and uncomfortable. After booking a ten bed mixed room, we were placed in a four mixed bed room with no explanation or forewarning. The fourth person in the room was an older man whose behaviours made my friends and I very uncomfortable. The hostel staff were unable to move us into the larger room we had originally booked, and we could not find anywhere else to stay. We did not feel safe. Also disturbed many times in the night by people being sent up for a bed that wasn’t empty.

Good location close to Newcastle central station. Nice staff. The locale is run down and seemed both dirty and sticky to me. I was not impressed by the kitchen but they do provide toast as well as tea and coffee

One of the few unpleasant hostel experiences I have had so far. Booked 4 bed dorm, was told they only had 6 bed dorms. Room and washing facilities not very clean, doors on both did not close securely, wallpaper peeling from ceiling. Would not stay again.

I’m a frequent hostel user…I was expecting a more civilised place but it’s Sat night in Newcastle and the hostels near the Bigg Market! So I can’t blame the hostel for getting virtually no sleep. The room was super basic but the bedding was clean, all fine. It was a long trip to the loo, but so it goes. The noise through the night from other guests was dire, shouting etc.not least the couple constantly making out in the next room…bed right up against the wall so vibrations along with n...

Pretty gross hostel. Doesn't seem to be meant for travelers. Lots of guys just sitting around all day. Unpleasant atmosphere and filthy bathrooms. Free instant coffee haha

Er zijn een aantal dingen aan onderhoud toe en een beetje olie in de scharnieren vd badkamer en toiletten doet vast wonderen. Dat gepiep hoor je door de hele slaapverdieping. Haakjes in de douches( niet geplakt) verhoogt het comfort. En de lockers kunnen niet allemaal meer op slot. De staf is vriendelijk. De handdoeken lekker zacht.

Got the job done but it wasn’t very atmospheric. Staff was really nice and helpful to be fair, and everything was fairly clean, the vibe was just okay.

buono giusto per una notte, ma non sarei rimasta più tempo

Really good, staff extremely helpful and happy to help with issues we ran into. We had a large group on a stag do, so we also had a BnB booked close by but the code sent didn't work to get our key for the BnB so we needed to temporarily hold the other members bags in our room so we could get on with what was planned for the Friday night. Thankfully everything was safe, Albatross really saved our weekend.

Wifi in the dorms would be great (but then again it has an upside that there isn’t ☺️)

Room was alright and bed was comfortable. Seems to be a lot of people living in the hostel so not much of an atmosphere. Wifi is not in the rooms and depending on the sim provider you may not have reception either.

Very good service

Wonderful stay. Place ie more central than you could ever ask for and 2 minutes from the train station. What they sell (food, towels, etc.) is damn well priced. Rooms are spacious and clean. Only issues would be the showers can be a bit finicky and weak pressure wise. Otherwise, hostel is secure and you feel safe, vibes in the common areas are perfect for a more chilled experience. Will definitely be coming back when I'm in town! P.S. Beds are also some of the comfiest I've ever stayed in, best...

Staff were friendly. Bottom bunk beds were big but hard and pillows were too. Difficult to meet people. I was in a four bed room and I was alone most of night except when some girls came in at 4 in the morning quite loudly and then left. Was only there for a night so overall a good experience

A great place to stay if you’re looking for closeness to the train station and cleanliness. Definitely not a party hostel, the vibe was more of grown ups passing by, than of young people traveling and looking to meet other people. But I had a very nice stay, everything was very clean and the staff and location was nice
