MoHo - Moalboal Hostel

Multiple guests discovered cash stolen from their bags, with other guests seeing their padlocked bags attempted to be ripped open. 1 guest left her bag on her bed with the curtains closed for 10 minutes while showering to come back and find all their cash gone. These guests then went to reception about this. To be bluntly told ‘we provide lockers it’s not our problem’. Staff said this had never happened before, but we later learned of more theft the night before which staff were aware of.

I didnt have the greatest experience at this hostel. There was no security at all. There were no locks on any of the doors or the hostel itself. There were lockers but you have to bring your own padlock. The rooms were decent. The common area was nice. The showers were terrible. The location of the hostel is good. It's only about a 10 min walk to the center.

We booked a private room incl. bathroom. The shower did not work for 2 days, so we asked for a refund. We talked to the manager on the phone (he would not come in person). He was rude and called us many ugly things. He then kicked us out at 6 pm on the third day, because we complained. We had 30 minutes to leave, otherwise he would call the police, he said. when we arrived the room looked nothing like the picture and the description was “newly renovated dorms” which the other dorm may have been but ours was definitely not! We had ants in our beds every single night. The shower trickled to the point where showering felt pointless but in the description it was described as “hot/cold showers with good water pressure”. Il n’y a pas de staff, ni de sécurité durant toute la nuit donc c’est un bordel 0 insonorisation et le bar est collé aux dortoirs donc c’est une boîte de nuit dans la chambre

DO NOT STAY HERE!! The service is very bad, rude, unprofessional and very aggressive. The rooms are dirty and the bathrooms are gross. During a little trivia game while the whole group was heckling and getting involved. The only person singled out was a black solo female traveller. Calling them the nastiest and most disgusting person thats ever played. And to "f&ck off" and not to play the "race card". All recorded on video to support these claims. And from other reviews this seems consistent.

If I could leave a lower review I would. No idea how this place has any higher reviews as it is the worst hostel I’ve stayed at. Lost power for hours only to have the AC never turn back on when the power did return. Went out to talk to someone in the night about getting the AC back on (as the room had turned into an actual medal hotbox because of their dorm design) and learned that they have no security or nightly reception at all. Hostel is just left open and unattended all night.

One of the worse hostel experiences I've had. They claim to have quiet hours from 11pm but the dorms aren't even enclosed by full walls so it is insanely loud and impossible to sleep. Room was boiling, someone vomited in the room and dispite alerting staff to this it was left in the hot room for hours before being cleaned. Grim. Left early.

When we got there , the room was so hot. AC was not working and was not fixed right away. We were not provided with towels. When i asked for towels the girl assigned just told me no towels available. Bathroom not clean. The rooms as well.

Fun, social and clean hostel. It’s close to other bars, hostels and restaurants. It’s a short walk to the sea for snorkelling and the main beaches can be reached by short scooter or tuktuk. The area in general can be very party at night. Opposite there is a venue with an outdoor stage which is very loud at night and throughout the morning/afternoon.

very nice hostel, great location and clean; dorms were a bit loud and the hostel is incredibly social (which is nice but not if you want to sleep before 1 am)

Fun spot! It’s just sooo hot right now to have AC off during the day. But fuel prices are not their fault. Super social at night — not the place to be if you want to sleep early as the walls are thin. Enjoyed my time here and staff were lovely, especially Cherry!

The Private Room we booked was clean and nice. Only thing were the unnessecary hard pillows. Combined with a LOT of Noise sometimes till 1:30 in the Night we did not get Great sleep. Should definitely be advertised as Party Hostel. One Night we were not able to sleep and then saw, that it was the Staff drinking and blasting music - Bit unprofessional. Besides that really Friendly.

Social hostel with very nice trivia night. Only thing the rooms are quite cold and the showers have no pressure and are cold. Also because the walls are so thin you hear a lot of noise late at night and they keep the music on until very late

I really liked this hostel. Great staff, social, free water and the open bar thing was nice. The only bad thing was the pressure of the showers and that you didn’t get towels there

Booked a private room the room was great very comfy bed. Only thing is the open bar / social space is right outside the rooms so the music doesn’t stop till around 1am and people still stick around after so it is noisy and not easy to sleep in.

Huge common area of floor seating. Lovely bar for cheap drinks and games. Free drinks event from 8-8.30 was pretty cool

It was a very cozy room, but very very small for 4 people. But everything else was so good and the people in the reception and the man who drove us to the airport were so sweet. And the location was perfect for the airport

Didn’t regret choosing this hostel for a one night stay in Moalboal! Staffs are friendly!

I had a really great stay at this hostel and would absolutely recommend it. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. What really stood out to me were the social activities, they were well-organized and made it so easy to meet other people. I had so much fun and would definitely stay here again!

Trop sympa pour profiter de Moalboal, très bien placé et personnel aimable. Les dortoirs sont grands mais il y a de l’espace sous les lits pour les sacs.

Easy to meet people with a huge commun space. Close to the main area with the restaurants and bars. The staff is friendly, the place is clean. It's loud in the room if there is music at the bar because no sound insulation. Possible to park the motorbike

Bed was fine, but really noisy. Bathroom was not clean, also saw a fight happening with the owner.

Friendly staff but the music is so close to the dorm that it is impossible to sleep before 11/12 pm…. Especially the night with karaoke it was so insanely loud
