+ I liked the rooms and the cleanliness overall. And there was a cute cat around the property! John uncle seemed nice and sweet for the most part of our trip. Home made food was good.
- I would say, the family was at times sweet and was also a bit blunt or a bit rude at times. I wish the rooms were warmer and more comfortable, there was an electric blanket it wasn’t accessible for the most part of it because of power cuts. Our electric blanket also caused a big spark while we were sleeping in the middle of the night, its a huge health hazard and a risk! We were asked to pay rs 50. For a dry towel, which seemed unnecessary. Heater was accessible only for an hour or two. We were told that hot water for drinking will be provided by them but when we asked for it, they questioned us why do we need it for and why do you need so much, etc. It wad located at an isolated space, travelling anywhere woukd be a bit inconvenient because all touristy spots are kilometres away.
+ La literie et l'accueil
- C'est très bruyant tant au niveau extérieur, que mes co locataires indiens qui n'ont rien à faire des autres, discutions tardives 23h30,et matinales 6h30,lit secoué lors des multiples descentes.

+ Hosts were friendly and accommodating and even offered to take us on rides on their taxi for reasonable prices. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Bath towels available on rent. There is a small but nice front yard with a lawn.
- The rooms (both the dorm and the double rooms) have no wardrobes or storage area to keep your stuff. The first floor double room has a balcony without a railing or a wall, which is very dangerous. The fans didn't have power backup so it can get hot when there's a power failure. The water filter is not accessible and you have to ask the hosts every time, which is a problem at night. The location is a bit far from the city center.
+ Care taker are very good, they provide all the support you need. Cleaning is good. Overall good experience. They have bikes for rent at a very good price.
- Only challenge is location, getting a auto reach is bit difficult. Not much inhouse option for food, you need to depend on swigy and zomato.

The major problem with this property is that it is not nearby to any city center. You wont be able to find anything much after 8 PM nearby and the roads are silent and without light outside the hostel. The best part is that it is really clean. The washroom, toilet, rooms , bedsheet, bed, everything was clean. No alcohol allowed in the hostel but ciggerate was allowed in designated areas. The owner was sweet and he would help you with nearest shared auto or cab.

+ Best hostel in Srinagar. The beds are big & clean. Very friendly family. Ali is really helpful in giving advice to go around the city. We went for a day trek.
One of the nicest hostels I have ever stayed at. Huge beds, a new super clean bathroom and a very helpful and friendly host.
+ Every thing

I had an amazing stay at this family-run homestay. Ali was very welcoming and shared a lot about the local culture and the region. He also arranged a day hike and a ski trip to Gulmarg for me. Since it’s the off-season, there weren’t many tourists around, but I felt completely safe and comfortable in Kashmir. For anyone visiting and looking for an authentic local experience, John’s Homestay is the place

Ali at the homestay went above and beyond to help me with everything when staying at the homestay. It was clean, the family is nice and i felt safe being a solo female traveller. They let me check in earlier and helped me book a taxi that took me around Kashmir, for a good price. Best Homestay in India.
+ We received a very warm and authentic welcome from our host family. The daughter and father were very accommodating and chatty. They gave us tips about Srinagar and our onward journey, and helped us with booking. We felt very comfortable and welcome in their home and gained a fascinating insight into their everyday life. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. We liked how bright it was. We also had a balcony. The linens were clean, and the hot shower worked wonderfully. Breakfast was simple and good. We love the house's Kashmiri tea! 😍 Everything was wonderful for us. However, there is a Sikh place of worship and a mosque nearby. Early in the morning, you can hear the prayers and chanting. Keep this in mind if you're a light sleeper. Otherwise, the location was good. It's a bit out of the way. We found this more comfortable. The tuk-tuk is a good way to get to the center. We highly recommend the accommodation! Thank you for the great time and your hospitality! 🙌🏻
+ The son who looks after the hostel is a very generous guy. There is a kitchen that functions as the common area.
