À éviter absolument ! - Pas de personne en direct pour échanger ! Si on pose des questions par messages, la manager et Suzy sont agacés ! J'ai eu le droit à un très mauvais accueil, Suzy s'est énervée et s'est moquée gratuitement ! - J'ai des problèmes de santé, donc j'ai demandé un lit du bas, je n'ai pas eu le droit alors qu'une personne est arrivée en même tant que moi le même jour, il y avait bien un lit en bas de disponible ! - La propreté laisse à désirer.

Suite a un changement de vol, j'ai directement contacté l'auberg. Ils me disentqu'ils sont désolés et ne peuvent pas modifier ma réservation. À mon arrivée on m'indique que jai été "upgrade":le lit est tellement dur, le froid et l'humidité entrait par les fenêtres mal isolées, le chauffage fonctionnait mal et je devais dormir avec mon manteau, la salle de bain était sale et les meubles de la chambre sont décrépits. Your holidays became hell if you book this hostel, the owner Mrs Pinar is a strange person, she is only looking for her comfort not the comfort of the customers, but she's good at convincing you that she's right. I booked the only spacious six-bed room on the terrace with private bathroom but they make you move to other small and noisy rooms with the excuse of (free upgrade). After you book they ask for your phone number, whatsapp, email address ..... and they start texting you day and night

This hostels self check in concept is an example of misusing the idea for personal ease. If you fancy, - Reading Irrelevant General Instructions sent to you via Whatsapp and email. (If accepting guests in person is not desired, at least send personalized Instructions). - Hiking up to the whole old town and climb 4 stories without a lift. - Paying 50 Lira for an old and dirty 30 minutes cold water washing machine. - Not air-tight window and mild warm Radiator. caught cold staying here.

I’ve been to many hostels around the world, this one of the worst experiences. Jumbo is located in an old house, which could be charming. But it’s not maintained well, smelly (!) and not cleaned for a long time. The worst part was the communication with the owner- she was rude and acting out forgetting any professional principle. Regarding Turkish culture norms, this is a strong no- go. She made clear you’re just some number staying there and she doesn’t care- stay somewhere else :)

The building itself is very old, so you may hear noise and creaking sounds when people walk around, they tend to contact guests frequently via WhatsApp and are very strict . It sometimes feels like they are running the place with a military-style disciplin. you might feel like you’re in an army environment and expected to follow very strict rules .

Great location and I liked the bohemian style of the place, but there was no social vibe, felt like a flat share. Volunteer staff was friendly and helpful though. Also the amount of rules (posted on everything around the hostel + in the whatsapp group + in your welcome booklet/sheet) felt almost hostile and aggressive in tone and sheer quantity of rules. They could do with relaxing a bit, and maybe focusing on cultivating a nice vibe.

The bathroom was not clean, the sink was running and the room’s window is badly made and repaired it made me feel like I was sleeping in the street with all the noises.

Jumba Hotel est un endroit très sympathique et les communications sont très claires. Le bénévole présent sur place, Red, est vraiment adorable et nous a donné des infos utiles. Nous avons aimé l'endroit, mais trouvé le quartier très bruyant.

Clean, quiet, good location. not super social. was a shame not to have some basics like shampoo/body wash but overall great value and stay.

very fun old building. bring ear plugs and eye mask. never met Pinar but there was plenty of communication. no social events but easy enough to meet and people on the terrace or in the sitting room

Tuve una muy estancia, la cama era cómoda y el auto check in bien explicado. Muy buen ubicado, pude recorrer a pie. Solo le falta una mejora a los baños ( tener donde colgar la ropa de uno cuando se baña y una puerta para no quedar en vista al pasillo. Recomiendo alojarse.

I had a lovely stay at Jumba! It is located in a safe and vibrant area of Istanbul, very close to the centre. The staff were so accommodating and helpful, allowing me to make last minute arrangements to my booking and storing my luggage after checkout. I will be back!

The hostel is very nice deocrated. Not like a hodtel but a place you geel you belong to the place. Staff was friendly and nice. Self check in istructions were quite easy . Will come back again :)

très bon séjour , un peu dommage de pas avoir croisé les personnes du lieu . mais si vous êtes pour quelques que vous dormez facilement ( quartier bruyant surtout le samedi )

Very sweet hostel, the location was great and organization also super easy. The staff was very helpful and quick to answer any question through WhatsApp. We were there in January during slow season and the hostel was quite empty, which was fine for us but could be lonely for someone else. We would definitely come back!

Loved my stay at Jumba! My room was so beautiful I kept extending my stay, and it was always seamless and friendly to communicate with the managers to do so. Check-in is easy and the location is unbeatable. I have been and will be back :)

we had a Amazing experience

Overall, the hostel was relatively inexpensive and suited most of my needs. Paying in cash was a challenge but the host was kind and understanding. There were multiple power outages and the facilities didn’t feel very secure. The biggest downside for me was that the WiFi was not strong in my room and I ended up have to use a lot of data as a result. Beyond that, things were clean and access to laundry was a plus.
