Baan Mai Kradan Hostel Chiang Rai

I rly enjoyed this hostel. The bed is very comfortable and clean. No bed bugs! The hostel is very cozy with a lot of amenities, like a living room with tv, sofa, kitchen and outdoor area. The bathroom is well equipped, has good water pressure, shampoo and soap, hair dryer, and you can rent a towel for 30 baht. The receptionist was very helpful and helped me book a bus to Laos. I super recommend this hostel. Great value! Khob kun ka 🙏

Mauvais accueil, quand nous sommes arrivé la réceptionniste était très désagréable. Ensuite nous avons trouvé une punaise de lit sur un matelas, suite à notre plainte, ils ont juste nettoyé notre chambre. De plus, la toilette en face de notre chambre sentait très mauvais, et le lavabo était défectueux.

This review is a bit two sided. We spent 2 nights here instead of 4. The good: the hostel is very homey and easy to connect to people in the common area which is very nice to sit in and calm down from any adventures you've had. The breakfast is simple and they had a little kitten which is so cute! We were also able to do laundry and there was space for line drying. The bathrooms and rooms are very clean and I felt very happy being there. The bad: Even though the room was very clean, we found some dots that turned out to be bed bug feces. After not finding much else we gave up and no more then 10 minutes later we had 3 bed bugs (2 nymph, 1 adult) crawling over the bed. Neither of us ended up being bitten but we did steam and dry all of our stuff just to be sure we didn't bring any with us. The staff was very kind and helped us do this, they also gave us a refund for the remaining nights. We ended up moving to a different hotel at the other end of town, but we also found signs of bed bugs there so it seems to be a city wide problem.

I was horrified to discover a big bed bug and many small ones on my pillow when I was about to go to sleep. I moved to the bed above mine (since it was free). It looked OK but after checking thoroughly a second time I saw another big bed bug... I decided to leave and I had to search for another place at midnight... If you plan to book this hostel, I would recommend avoiding the 6-bed female dorm for a few weeks, until they sort out the problem.

BED BUGS! Unfortunately this place has a huge bed bug problem! After one night I was covered in bites and then found them crawly on my bed from under the wood! Seemed like the staff new about this ingoing issue. They were super good about it, and refunded me for the ongoing nights as I left pretty promptly. Stay at own risk.

BED BUGS!!! Schönes Hostel, aber Bettwanzen

Not a social hostel but still a good, mature crowd overall. Very aesthetic setting. Giving this a low rating because I couldn't sleep here due to bed bugs

The hostel location is very good. It is very quiet here, perfect for working and introverts. I had a major bed bugs issue on the second night. The staff said they will look into it. My bed was infested.

Bed bugs!!!! Found a couple dead ones in my bed and a day later I have bites ugh. Staff are never anywhere to be found. There’s little extra charges that they don’t mention as well (eg - towels). If you find staff they don’t understand or speak any English so just be prepared to use a translator app. Curtains in the dorms are paper thin and the doors are super super loud. Do NOT recommend.

Really nice looking hostel, met some fun people. Otherwise not a great experience. Staff are nowhere to be found ever, you have to ring the bell multiple times or go looking for them. Once you find them they are friendly but don’t speak English, I just used the google translate app when needed to communicate. All that would be fine but I found 2 dead bed bugs in my bed which was really gross. The doors are super super loud as other reviews said, and curtains are paper thin.
