Flock Hostel Kathmandu

1. Woke up at 1am to a male member of staff watching me sleep through a crack in my curtain. 2. Cleaners took my belongings from my bed and put them in the corridor where things were stolen by guests - even though I wasn’t checking out that day. Told me I was lying and only checked CCTV 1 week later where we saw it. No offer to replace anything and manager avoided me daily so I never got to discuss with him. 3. Staff lied about being the manager + others admitted it

Sandehya behind reception is the most useless, rude & inconsiderate hostel worker and human I have ever met. After a cleaner mistakenly thought I checked out, cleaned my bed and misplaced the items that were on there (pjs, adapter, earplugs etc) I told her about the situation & she did nothing but laugh in my face, tell me the girls in the room had stolen them, as the cleaner would not ‘misplace things’ & offered no apology, acknowledgement of the situation or resolution what so ever.

Horrible service, bed bugs , the staff are lovely but the owners have no soul and treat them badly :(.

I left my bags for safekeeping and even paid for it and they were destroyed by red paint from the room, one of the bags was washable but the other was not salvageable. It's a 375 dollar bag and they refused to compensate me in any way.Then threatened me and kicked me out. I was leaving for my flight anyway but I'm not coming back. And I stayed there last year and three weeks this year. It's outrageous that they couldn't even spare 50 dollars so I could try turn it into dry cleaning at home...

I checked in at 7pm. My bed was not made. I left and came back two hours later, the same blanket was put over the bed (not a new one). I went to shower upstairs. The dirtiest showers a hostel ever had. Hair everywhere. No where clean to put your towel and things. There was an extremely loud concert right by the room way past 9pm. There was a massive rat at the reception. Only rat i saw in nepal inside a hotel. Anyway extremely bad experience. I left and I am so happy i did.

Extremely unfriendly staff, never again!

Moldy smelly bathrooms, room was changed but the second room had horrible mold in the drawers. Staff was not friendly and charged us for the entire stay and forgot to give us back money we paid as deposit for the room key. Yoga room was advertised but not even open. No tour of the space. Expensive food. Location is not the most convenient in thamel and you get stuck into ordering a cab from them directly, which is overpriced. Horrible experience.

This hostel is mediocre. Looks better in photos. For double the price of others in the area, you’d think it would be 2x as good. Bed frames are old. Showers not clean, nowhere to put stuff when using them. Bathroom counter space minimal. Hairdryer smelt like it was going to start an electrical fire, plug was burnt. Door came off a locker in my room and they spent hours hammering on it; so Lockers didn’t seem secure. Ppl leave lights on all night not knowing the switches turn off individual l...

I’m really not sure why this hostel has so many good reviews. The staff is incredibly rude and it is not clean. Our flight was delayed and they gave away our room. Over 3 nights we stayed in 3 different rooms and all were equally dirty. The dirtiest place I’ve stayed in Nepal or India.

Staff were great and the common areas were great , BUT the rooms and beds were not clean. My boyfriend’s mattress had fresh sick on the mattress with a sheet over it, he could smell it through the sheet. There was also sick down the wall and window. When we asked for the bed to cleaned a lady just scrubbed it with a cloth but didn’t use any cleaning product. I don’t think the area around the beds has been cleaned for a long time

for any solo female travelers i would absolutely recommend to come here for your stay in kathmandu! the facilities are exceptional and the staff is great!!! shoutout to Arjun who works night shift and absolutely holds the fort down……he’s so kind and helpful i love cracking jokes with him and i think he should 100% get a raise because he’s the best one on staff for sure in my opinion. they have security all day and a great cafe run by the staff

Perfectly fine stay at Flock Hostel. Definitely didn’t feel it was as social as other hostels I have stayed in and the advertised photos are a bit misleading showing people hanging out on the roof. In reality the roof is a sit down restaurant and there is only a very small hangout area by reception for meeting people. And no hostel events either for meeting people The restaurant inside the hostel was nice with good food though and the room was nice. I just normally hope for a more social vib...

Amazing hostel. High end, good food and clean rooms. Only thing that was quite strange was that the cleaning staff kept using the same bathrooms as us on the 4th floor, incl. putting on make-up and going to the toilet.

so comfy kept telling myself, just one more day for more than a week

Very good in all aspects,only downside is it didn't feel as social as portrayed, would love some more event options for those not hiking

Overall I think this is a really great place. There’s heaps of good hostels in KTM. I think this is generally seen as the most popular. I wouldn’t say it’s the most social place I’ve ever stayed. In fact the hostel right next door sounded wayyyy more social. But in terms of cleanliness and on site facilities like the restaurant and the rooftop bar this one was way better. Just depends on what you want for your trip I guess

Really cosy place! Great location and lovely people. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean and nice area to hang out with others.

Had a great time. great hostel ran brilliantly by the team. Arjan behind desk was a legend and always so helpful.

My experience at flock hostel was amazing from the first second. Arjun greeted me at the reception with a huge smile and kept calling me sir. Temples,bars and restaurants are all in walking disnance. Everything looks very clean and they ask to change bedsheets almost every day, ITS A HOSTEL. im not used to this type of luxury. Overall, would defo recommend!

Arjun at reception is the man, such a nice guy, super helpful and he sorted me out with an extra pillow! All the other staff are just as great also, top hostel🤌

We had a premium room. It was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. The roof top restaurant was great, both it and the ground floor cafe served great food at good prices. The whole place was great value for money. The room , the food, the laundry service even the taxi to the airport were all great value. Would thoroughly recommend this hostel, it’s got to be one of the best we’ve stayed in on our travels.

The staff truly went above and beyond, every request and need was fulfilled quickly and with enthusiasm. The place itself is very upscale, especially for the area. I am very impressed and pleased with Flock Hostel. Would definitely recommend staying here.

10/10 experience. clean hostel with very nice facilities and chilling spaces. The staff is very sweet and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay here! Will be back!

Everything was excellent!! Nice please to stay for few days !!

Was a serviceable hostel in close proximity to Thamel. But as should have been expected, the rooms and property are nothing like the photos make them seem. They are far more run down. Rooms are pretty tightly packed. There is not much in the way of communal areas. And the atmosphere was pretty non existent as a result. In fairness the beds seemed clean, the lockers were nice and large for plenty of gear, the property is tucked away so it is private from the hustle of thamel.
