Lub d Siem Reap

The stay was very disappointing, especially because of bedbugs. I have stayed at this chain’s branch in Bangkok before and it was excellent, but my experience at this location was extremely poor. • On the first night, one of the guests in the room had a cold and coughed the whole night. Since she couldn’t sleep, she started playing on her phone with the speaker on low volume. I reminded her twice, but she kept doing it. It was very annoying. I think maybe because the price is cheap, some people really have no manners. • On the second night, I asked the front desk to change to another room because of the noise. However, the new room had bedbugs. After just 30 minutes lying on the bed, I developed many itchy bumps on my thighs and arms. It was extremely uncomfortable, so I had to request another bed again. Besides, there was a pile of trash right in the middle of the room. Even after the staff made some beds the next day, that same pile of garbage was still in the room. Overall, this was an awful experience, and I cannot recommend this place at all.

I think my bed had bedbugs. I was bitten quite a few times and when I checked my pillow, it had big dark brown spots that couldn’t have been missed while putting on a pillow case. Why they decided to use this pillow, I have no idea. Upon complaining, the pillow and bedding was changed (not the bed though) but I couldn’t sleep well afterwards.

I wish I could give this hostel a higher rating, but they had bed bugs. I was able to switch to another room. I loved everything else about this hostel. The staff were great, location is close to pub street and the rooms were nice.

I think there are better places for the money. When checking in we were just given our key and told the dorms upstairs, which is fine. However on our last day I saw a poster advertising a free welcome drink and socialise on your first night, it would have been good to know that on check in. Also we got bitten by bed bugs here, I should have taken more notice of the black dots on the mattress 😩😩
